    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

about two years ago, my husband and myself, went to dans house and gave him 4 female carpet/ diamond pythons. he was to breed them, and then we were going to split the 1st clutchs 2/3 to him 1/3 to us. then about a year later he accidently calls us after after a short conversation, he said that they never breed, this from a man that said how great he was a breeding, shortly after that he call three times to say he was going to be going through the area we live in and did we want a female colombian red tail, we said yes and he said he would call right back,(we offered to meet him half way each time) he did this three times. i am not a pushy person, so i waited all three times with no call back. then on 6/19/02 i saw an ad for a 10 foot albino burm, i wrote him and asked is it a male or female, he said female and that he also has a 14 foot female. then i write and ask about any scars, burns, and health problems. NO REPLY on 6/25/02, he writes to find out if i am still interested in his 8 foot female albino burm(hmmm). and leaves his name, here are our e-mail back and forth after i realized who i was e-mailing:Dan, Dan, Dan, i just realized it was you with the burm. guess you forgot who i was. its not that hard to think you would forget me you, you have done that several times already. well try to remember, we traded you Goliath, the black throat monitor for a mean wild caught blood that NEVER ate. that we ended up giving away. or maybe this will refresh your memory we also gave you 4 carpet diamond pythons all female, one I really remember because see was so exceptional we paid $350.00 for her alone. Remember yet?  maybe you will remember and come over and give me the albino burm, probably not. Did we wait 3 different times for you to call "right back" yes? Did you call right back NO.  THREE TIMES you called, three times you said YOU would call right back, we offered to meet half way all three times and WAITED at home for a call that we never got. i might have a problem with the way things were handled on your end but i don't recall you being out anything.  and i haven't ever called you stupid, the last few times you called, you said those were all the snakes you had, and will we take the red tail  (and you only mentioned one never two.) but that does not matter because three times you called we offered to meet you half way, three times you said you will call right back, three times you didnt. i guess calling me names justifies this to you someway. well my IQ is probably higher than yours and i don't lie and than act like the other person is in the wrong. You think I am stupid, well that's O.K. I think you are an ASS...... TERRI  HIS REPLY OK,...YOU, just cost yourself any payment.

Terri...I'm a little confused....what happened to the four Carpets you sent him?? Does he still have them? Why doesn't he just send them back to you...OR...why don't you take that "long ride" to his house and get the local cops involved??? They can walk right in his house and "take" your snakes back (if you have proof that they are yours)...
Did you know this guy "before" you sent a stranger four snakes, knowing that it would be months before anything happened??? I think you made a big (initial) mistake....
I would go to his house with the cops and get your snakes back! Good luck, kiddo....another lesson learned, huh??? ....Neil
 
i dont know if he has them and i really dont care. his e-mails prove that i did give them to him, i didnt know him when i took them to his house. my reason for posting is to let people know what an A$$ he can be. and for all you good folk out there to BE CAREFUL.
 
Terri....I must say...that's very magnanimous of you, but....you is crazy, woman!! Get your butt over to his house and get your snakes back??? What are you going to do, just say..."oh, it's ok, you can keep the snakes, I'll just warn people to be careful when dealing with you"? If you let him get away with that....how many other people will (possibly) fall into that trap?? I'd be all over him like "white on rice", if they were "my" snakes....but, you do what you gotta do.....Neil
 
dan took them at a time when i really needed to get rid of some stuff fast, he seemed like he was on the up and up. we went to his place, talked for a while and everything seemed like it would work out. then after all the lies and promises i decided to just forget it. that is until he tryed to sell me something, i guess i needed to vent somewhere. so that is what i am doing here now. thank you for you replys though, it makes me feel better.  terri

Basically Dan Atkisnon took in some snakes for you...as a payment he is to give you babies...

But now because of a little name calling...he is pretty much telling you he is not going to pay you?

Is he pretty much saying..."Thank you for the free snakes...you will never see them or your money or any of your babies" ?

Is that what he is saying?  You know that makes him lower than the lowest crook in my book.


I can almost relate..... I have some animals here...All I gotta do is send half the babies to the owner....But other than that the animals are mine...
That would be like me telling the owner....thanks for the animals....by the way scr&w you.....you won't see a dime or a baby...THAT WOULD MAKE ME THE LOWEST LIFE FORM ON EARTH.

This guy is lower than low....he just basically took advantage of someone who needed help.  Someone who was already down.

on the first board, i remember someone having a problem with him. something to do with a truck they paid a lot of money on. then the excuse from him started. i did not know any of this when i meet him. as far as i know the guy never got any money back or the truck. i wish i could remember his name but i cant. he is/was somebody with one of the best reps around though. WARNING ON DAN ( up the ) ATKINSON. if you are not careful that is where he will put it to you too.
 
hi, reticulatius. that is your 1st post, seems like maybe he has done something to you also or somebody you know. looks like he has had problems with a few people. watch your atkinson around him.
 
Dan Atkinson is a piece of work.. You are better off cutting your losses like you said. He ripped me off a couple of years ago and had a bunch of excuses which he can come up with in a minute. Yes i recieved some runt carpet python babies (ordered hogg island boas). I wanted so bad to drive there but he wasn't/isn't worth the headache.. I hope everyone sees this pathetic person for what he is. Hard to believe he is still up to the same ol.
 
Wow, I really hate this guy!  Yes, he ripped my Atkinson big time a few years back.  Agreed to a trade, my 5 bloods for his three large female albino burmese.  Told me what a great guy he was, told about all the references he could provide blah, blah, blah.  It was my first deal over the net so I gave it a shot.

He makes me ship first, I do so per his instructions.  He gets the snakes, then emails me and tells me they didn't arrive!  I immediately pick up the phone and call Delta, they tell me he picked them up and signed for them a couple of hours ago!!!  Each time I confront him w/ this fact he makes up a different story.  When he finally admits he has the snakes, he says they are all mean (another outright lie, one of these snakes was as tame as a dead ball python, in fact it had won an award from the Central FL Herp Society for it's calm temperment).  He then says one of the animals "has some fluid in it's mouth."  But, HE says its no big deal and says he'll just heat it up and it will be ok.

He waits two days to ship me the burms, we agreed to same day shipping.  And when he does ship them, he puts them in the same box I sent to him, with the same 40 hour heat pack taped to the lid (obviously, it had long since quit working).  But that's not all, one animal is out of it's pillow case, just crawling around the box (guess he forgot how to tie knots also) and the other is bleeding from the nose.  Dan is completely unapoligetic and basically calls ME a liar.  Remember this is the same guy who sent me an email saying that Delta told him that my snakes were still in Atlanta, after he'd picked them up and signed for them!

The third burm that was to be included in our deal, a ten foot albino green female, was not included in the shipment.  Dan explained this by saying that the animal was "too sick to ship."  The same animal that just 3 days before he told me was in the best shape of all three.  He says he will make up the difference later.  

After 2 months of every excuse in the world Dan did send me $150 for $350 he owed me, this is after lying about the check being in the mail at least twice (but that wasn't really lying according to Dan, because he was just "biding time." he really did want to send the money."

3 months after Dan recieved my animals, he contacts me and says.  Hey I sold all your snakes to some friends of mine and some of them died, "what do you want to do about this?"  <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>
Remember now he still hasn't even payed me for these snakes, yet he's already sold and traded them off!  And now, he wants me to reimburse HIS customers because the snakes which I haven't been paid for and haven't seen in THREE months are now supposedly dying!  He pomised (threatened actually) to send pics of the dead snake but never did.

Needless to say, at this point I was more than a little upset.  

Seriously folks, avoid this guy like you'd avoid a snake w/ IBD POSITIVE tattooed to it's head.  He will rip you off any way he can.  And if you have time check out the complete record on the old BOI, it's interesting reading (I think).

I would like to say something here. I know, from this post that this guy (Dan Atkinson) may be self destructing, and I will not argue the validity of the claims here, I think it takes guts to stand up and complain when youve been stepped on,I question people that dont, but I have something to interject here, not that it has anything to do with the thread itself.

  I bought snakes from Dan Atkinson about 3 years ago. A few Eastern Indigos that he had. They came on time and were just what he said they would be. I still have them now, with not one problem from them. This has been MY expereince in dealing with him, I am not trying to demean the expereinces that others have had here, and I am NOT Dans friend or close buddy(I am basically not any brokers friend or close buddy, ask some) but my expereince with him wsnt bad at all.  My two cents that no one asked for.

Dan contacted me about trading for a cobra I had, he offered to trade me 6 surinam redtail babies. Boy, hearing all of this, I am really glad I didn't trade.  I was kind of leary when I asked for pictures of all six and got a picture of a baby columbian,two "rare" blacktail boas, and three pictures of the same surinam. I was thinking about still trading, but your post probably just saved me from being probably shafted.  Thanks and thank you to the board of inquiries!

Those redtail babies that Dan is try to trade with you...

they are the EXACT SAME surinam red tail babies that someone else is selling.

His initialls are MM and he says he is out of the business except for a few animals....

But I just found out through my sources that MM is brokering those animals for Dan Atkinson.

Beware....do not deal with Dan atkinson or anyone that brokers his animals for him.

I have an idea for you. Since Dan never completed the transaction those snakes you sent him are legally still yours. If you are not up to the effort involved in getting them back into your possession then why don't you give them away to someone that has the energy to do so?
Maybe Dan is not intimidated by the thought of you showing up at his doorstep to claim what is legally yours. But I bet there are plenty of people out there that he would not want to mess with if they happened to show up to "retreive" the animals that you just gave them legal ownership of. Four (4) females you say? It shouldn't be difficult at all to get this kind of help. Not only would you have the satisfaction of making something right with someone that is terribly wrong, but you might even still be able to get some babies out of the deal. Any takers out there that can help Terri with this?
 
I recently purchased a surinam from Dan.  I received an E-mail from Matthew Martin saying he had them.  He was foreward from the beginning(Matt) in telling me he didn't have the animals but was selling for someone else(Dan).  Although it took 2 weeks to ship, I'm very satisfied with the animal I got from Dan.  It's beautiful and if I had the money I'd buy it's siblings.  The only reason it took so long to ship was due to high temps in My and Dans area and him wanting to make sure I would be there to receive it.  I can't speak for anyone else's experience with Dan or Matthew Martin but MY experience with them resulted in me getting a wonderful, healthy animal at an outstanding price.
