In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This week I received a beautiful '09 mystic female from Dan.

The entire purchase transaction went smoothly; he responded to my questions quickly, provided all the critical info I needed to make a decision and provided the tracking info without being asked. When we received the snake it was apparent he had packaged it with care. The mystic was beautiful, healthy and exactly the weight he had advertised.

Based on my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Dan Wolfe Herpetoculture to anyone.

Dan Wolfe Herpetoculture Great animals and service

Dan is great to do business with. I received 2 stunning animals from him today. They were packed in a new box, correct heat, plenty of ventilation and packing material, plus the box was very large for 2 small animals. This means he was more concerned with the well being of the animals than saving a few dollars on shipping.
If he has something you wany, get it, you will not be disappointed.

Dan is the MAN!!! I also have recently received an AMAZING pastel calico from Dan Wolfe. The entire transaction was flawless. Great friendly customer service. I agree that you will not be unhappy @ all with a purchase from Dan.
Awesome quality animals+ good customer service + great packing=Dan Wolfe Herpetoculture!!

Im also a victim of great professional customer service from Dan. I cant believe he sent me a great looking animal for a great price. Im still angry how good the transaction was:yesnod::D

victim too

I also am a victim of receiving a beautiful ball python(Firefly) from this man and he dared to give nothing short of exceptional customer service. the nerve of this man to set the bar so high. I can't wait to buy from him again.

I had the honor of meeting Dan Wolfe in person today. He's quite possibly one of the nicest people in the biz. Since I live so close to him now, I made the drive up to pick up my most recent addiction fix. He was kind enough to take a couple hours out of his day to talk shop (everything from rodents to reptiles), and to pull many tubs for me to have a look. Oh man, if you think what he shows us in pictures is nice ...

The animals I purchased are clearly the result of good care and genetics. They're chubby and gorgeous.

Looking forward to more purchases in the future from Dan.

I recently completed a transaction with Dan Wolfe and I couldn't be happier. He was willing to work out a payment plan with me that made it possible for me to add a magnificent female pastel calico ball python to my collection. Dan has great customer service and high quality ball pythons.

I look forward to doing business with him again in the future.

I too completed a transaction with Dan Wolfe. I am truly elated to receive my Mystic BP
Packed Well.
Shipped when he said he would.
Communication is great.
Animal is outwardly healthy and beautiful.

I would recommend him and would do business with him again.

I'll go ahead and piggyback on this thread. Dan Wolfe was an absolute pleasure to do business with. He replied to emails quickly, gave information without hesitation, and shipped exactly what and when he said he would. He even made a quick adjustment at the last minute and sent my snake a day earlier than we had planned. The packing job was done well and the female calico he sent me was absolutely stunning. It's clear that he has put some time into breeding a spectacular stock of calico ball pythons. I look forward to working with him again in the future.

Just received my Firefly from Dan Wolfe Herpetoculture. Great communication, animal was packed well, is of very nice size and health, and very nice looking. Great transaction overall. And when speaking with Dan, he seems like a great guy as well. Thanks Dan for the terrific animal.

Hate to have to do this, but it needs to be out there ...

I've been one of Dan's biggest fans for years. But I want to save someone else the heartburn I'm currently going through. I didn't feel it warranted a separate thread, so am leaving it here.

Dan may or may not back up the genetics of some of his new, subtle morphs. I guess it depends on how much money you spend with him. Since I told him I'm not buying any more animals, I apparently fall into the "no support" category.

I purchased a Quake 66% het black lace male earlier this year and have decided I'd rather have a few recessive genes that I'm already working with in trade so have been advertising this male.

Had a customer very interested in the male, and he understandably wanted proof that this male is what I say he is. It's a subtle morph. So I took a quick picture, which my customer forwarded to Dan for verification. Dan wrote back that he did sell me a male, and that the one in the picture "looked like" him. Are you serious? This is your gene, that you created, and you have several dozen of them lying in your racks but you couldn't just email my gentleman back and say 'yep that's a quake'? My customer also understandably feels that given the frosty response, Dan more than likely wouldn't be interested in helping him pick the morphs out of his future clutches. It's new, and a lot of people, myself included aren't sure what the exact markers are.

Look up the prices of quakes. Look up the prices of the black lace and het black lace. It's incredibly discouraging to have spent so much money and get ZERO morph support. If you don't back 'em up 100%, you shouldn't be selling them. But that's just my opinion.

Shadera, that has been a huge concern regarding "subtle" morphs for me and why I have not risked getting involved with any. It is quite discouraging if there is a lack of breeder/originator support. Can the originator even define it so that it is readily distinguishable from some variation from average normals?

Do you have the full response by Dan to share?

First, I want to say, Dan is someone I greatly admire and look up to in this industry. He does EVERYTHING right!

Shadera, you're response is based upon hearsay of what someone who was inquiring told you? Dan said he sold you the male and it looked like him. What else did you want from him? Dan has no business with this random person, so what is it his obligation to go any farther than that?

It's a little confusing to me, because it seems as though you are upset because Dan didn't sell your animal for you? I'm sure if you kindly approached Dan BEFORE you wanted to sell your animal, he probably could have done more for you.

I think it's my knowledge he gave you a pretty sweet deal on the snake, and you were in turn dishing it off shortly there after without him even informing him?

Please care to elaborate, but Dan Wolfe is an amazing person in this industry, and EVERYONE out there should have no hesitation on doing business with him.

Ahh. I knew you'd be showing up. A customer service screwup will always bring out the fanboys to run defense.

You don't have a problem with someone who can't look at a morph they originated and confirm that's what it is? Seriously? He said what he said, but he didn't actually say that yes it was a quake. He left it just open enough that there is still doubt in people's eyes. "Best guess" isn't good enough when you're selling animals for multiple thousands of dollars. It doesn't matter if he could confirm that it was "the" animal he sold to me. It's a morph he came up with and is currently marketing for $6k+. That comes with absolutely no genetic guarantee security at all? Even a dollar pricetag isn't a sweet deal on an animal that looks like a normal to the untrained eye, when he won't even back the genetics up. What that says is, I don't care about my projects - all I care about is money and if you didn't buy from me tough luck.

It doesn't matter when or why I choose to sell the animal. I purchased it, I own it, it's my right. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous. The price doesn't matter either, though it's refreshing to know that he has no problem discussing such things with others when it's none of their business. Hmm, I wonder if I should disclose all the juicy little tidbits I gleaned from conversations since it's apparently okay to discuss things with others ... Prices, wholesalers, etc.

By the way, I've got three problem feeders from him here in my racks that he ditched on me, two of them from YOU. I'm still dumping money into them, with zero compensation. Vet bills, medications, rats, supplies, my time ... What kinda person abandons animals? Add it to his refusal to 100% identify the animal he sold me, and a picture starts to form if you're paying attention and aren't high on the koolaid.

Yeah, he's a real amazing guy. He'll tell people anything they want to hear in order to keep the cash flowing. Sorry, I don't choose to surround myself with fakes, regardless of how nice the animals they produce are. You go right ahead. I'll buy from people who will back up what they sell from now on.

Nickolas, I do not have the email. I've left it up to the person who was interested in the animal to choose whether or not they want to get directly involved.

I was there when you volunteered to take care of these animals from Dan. You were indeed quite happy to do so at the time. Please do not imply that Dan "dumped" these animals on you, as the whole point of volunteering your time and energy means that you do not expect compensation in return. You knew what you were getting into when you received the animals... he gave you full disclosure on their eating habits when you got them.

He gave them to you for free because, given his large collection, he could not give them the individual attention they required to survive and thrive. As far as I'm concerned, he made the correct, ethical choice in regards to the well being of those animals. If you are unhappy with them, you could probably return them, no questions asked. I'm sure he could find someone else to adopt the animals.

As far as I am aware, you took the animals to help out a friend, and as such, they are irrelevant to your complaint about the quake you purchased from him.

Spoken like someone who thinks they know what went on, but doesn't. Butt out, please.

Yes, I did volunteer. They were not given to me as you claim they were. And then later he kept trying to push an animal on me for payment, which I did not want. I asked him if he'd like them back now, or if he wanted to wait until they reached 500 grams as we originally agreed. He did not reply. In my eyes, that is abandoning the animals.

The only reason you have any idea who Dan is is because I pushed you a few days before you flew out here to contact him. You only have a stake in him because he's asked you to send one of your gene animals to him to breed to his stuff. It's interesting how you have all this to say now, but you didn't have a thing to say to my face, eh? ;)

By the way, you're welcome for the pictures I sent you. Nice to see you still don't have any manners.

I amended this before I hit reply I thought, but apparently the addition did not go through.

I haven't gone through emails to get an exact date, but I'm guessing off the top of my head that it's been close to a month since I asked when he wanted them back. No reply.

These are not my animals. They never were. I did not take them with any intention that they become permanent members of my collection.

I knew of Dan long before I knew of you. I was honored to meet Dan and Sandy, and I thought they were kindhearted, open souls. I consider them both my close friends; any interest Dan may have had in my animals or I in his is completely irrelevant. Indeed, you were the one who pressured me into contacting him about my Osmosis project.

Your issues regarding money and taking care of his animals suddenly became a problem when you became unhappy that I was socializing with Dan and Sandy. You accused Dan of only being your friend because you spent lots of money on his animals over the years; not only is this hurtful, but after meeting Dan myself, this is blatantly untrue and completely contrary to his character.

I will not go into more detail here, as the events that transpired in Montana are between you, me, Sandy, and Dan and as such are irrelevant to this conversation other than to shed light on your character. You completely and utterly destroyed my trust in you on that trip. You did something unforgivable. I was mugged once in Italy, but I felt even more unsafe in your company. Because of that, I chose to break off contact with you.

I only commented in here because I had relevant information regarding the animals you volunteered to take care of. I am sure Dan regrets not having things in writing you with now, although I think his bigger regret is that you have sufficiently destroyed your friendship with him that the paperwork is now sadly required.

Shadera,
I was just curious if your "Quake" was every verified by Dan Wolfe? Before or if someone jumps on me I haven't had any transactions with either just want to find out what happened since a great deal of money was spent/invested on this animal? Thanks, Paige
