I don't think it is a holding issue in this case as he still has the animals. He hasn't sold them to anyone else, it just looks like he is backing out of the deal we had made. The only other llive animals I've purchased online have been saltwater corals, and I've never had a similar incident, so I don't know if it's common for this to happen when purchasing snakes.

Like I had said. I can't say that it's normal. It depends on the individual seller. Check the BOI before making a deal and always keep emails so that if an incident such as this does occur, you can post your experience on the BOI.

I just a did a deal with Daniel for a high dollar and a low dollar item. Everything went smooth - from beginning to end, with lots of patience on his end towards my demands.
Same, great attention was given to both animals and both arrived great - very outwardly healthy and just as nice or even better than the pics.
Daniel even sent me a little something extra which was fantastic! Sort of like an early Christmas present!! Thanks again Dan!
Well, needless to say, I was very happy with our transaction and look forward to doing business again soon.

I posted my experience with Daniel in another thread here . Everything went very smoothly. I didnt have the cash and asked him to hold them for me and he did. I was able to pay him the next day and he shipped them out that same day and e-mailed me the tracking number. I also used my work address instead of my home address but they were shipped to my work just fine. He sent them in an insulated box with a heat pack and they are doing just great.

This is the email, start to finish. It starts at the bottom on 11-26-04 towards the top on 12-2-04, so you have to read backwards to get it in order. I haven't gotten a reply to my last yet. I'm still hoping this works out. If so I'll definately update this post.

I understand. I was really pumped about having a snow someday. Is there anything I can do to convince you to go through with the deal? I could probably afford up to $700 for them.

I'm very happy to say we got everything straightened out. It's great to see that there are still people around who will stand up to come through for another person, even when their immediate needs have already been met. I can't wait to maybe have a pet snow boa. It's going to be a long three years

ALERT !!! ALERT !!! BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I just wanted to let people that are interested in doing business with this person, Daniel Haney, [email protected] is his Email and his screen name is DHSERPS or whatever name he is using at this time, that you read this first. Daniel was pleasant to deal with in the beginning but as soon as he could get more money for an already confirmed sale he just disregarded my purchase and sold to another higher bidding buyer. He is dishonest and if he makes a deal with you for one amount and gets a better offer you will not get the reptiles. It happened to me on REPTIBID.com. I bought a pair of 1.1 ADULT ALBINO Boas for $4,000.00 as a buy it now sale. I contacted him on the phone, had a conversation with him about the snakes and he told me someone else was interested in them from Arizona but he made the sale to me and I wired the money over to him using PayPal. He confirmed that he received the money. It was November 24th and Thanksgiving was the next day, so I asked if he could hold them for 2-3 days and he stated that since he already had the money that this was not a problem. I had to quickly make room for these snakes and I lost a substantial sum of money by selling my animals at a loss and on timed payments which I do not usually do. I also lost the opportunity for other purchases I was interested in because he had $4,000.00 of mine. I contacted him on Saturday to tell him to ship Wednesday and he stated that this was good for him. But, when I called the day before to get shipping info he stated that suddenly, his phantom partner had already sold and shipped my snakes to someone in (you guessed it) Arizona. When I asked about this he said you got your money back and not to question him and said F--- You and hung up and blocked my number. This behavior is less than honorable and I would not recommend that anyone buy anything from him as he is not trustworthy.
