• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Do not purchase anything from Danny Jones, user name dirt1336.
He took money for a pair of water monitors and stopped all communication. He never shipped the animals or replied to any text, calls, emails etc after he stole my money! If anyone knows this person give him what he deserves! People like this are giving bad names to all of us in the herp community!!!
 
Can you post all correspondence between you two and payment information, really any information you have on him?

PayPal was paid to him (Danny Jones) [email protected] on 7/30.
We communicated via text and he was to ship Monday for tues delivery. Monday he text me around 9am and said he had to work early and would be off early that afternoon to send them and track info to me. I spoke with him again that afternoon around 3pm and asked him not to put direct signature, he replied "alright".
That was our last communication, he never talked again and never shipped animals. I tried contact via text, call, email and his fauna ad. No response and no way to leave him a voicemail (not setup of course).
Long story short he has my money and didn't send what I paid for nor will he respond to me or anyone else. God forbid something happened to him but either way I'm out of my money!

I just searched the email you provided and it is also linked to the profile I found.

The other one may be an older one or just a second one.
 
This is Dan. In my defense. My 6 yr old dropped my phone and shattered it. It had all the shipping info and everything on it. 4 days later. I've contacted BMW Reptiles and the monitors are on their way. He'll have them by 10 30 tomorrow morning. He said he has placed a thread stating these same facts and will repost in the morning. I'm no thief. Shit just happens sometimes. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and i look forward to remaining part of the fauna class. Community

let us not get ahead of ourselves and pat danny on the back just yet. let's wait until 1030am tomorrow and see if he follows through on his word.
 
Let's not forget Dan's reputation is also on the line. It appears to have been an honest mistake and once proof is given that all is well, I feel this thread should come down as not to punish someone for something beyond their control.
