So far you've provided no documentation, so we really do need to see these texts ( can they be downloaded?) and anything else, documents, emails, etc... we only heard one side with nothing to back it up so please provide those.


Also,You accuse this guy of:
1. "going crazy"
2. extortion
3. blackmailing
4. "Flipping out"
5. Lying
6. verbal assault
7. ignoring all attempted contact from you

and your unwilling to go to the police? Do you really think he's going to have a change of heart and hand the animals over?

I didn't want to involve the police with someone who I thought was a friend who I thought was perhaps having a bad day. Since he has still ignored all attempts at communication, and refuses to negotiate, I am beginning to think you're right and that probably is the only alternative I have.

I don't want to broadcast 600 text messages for the world to see. If you'd like them privately emailed to you, that's one thing. I can see about downloading them from my iPhone.

Bad day or are you afraid he is going to harm you? You seem scared - and justifiably so after what I found out about him. Not only should you go to the police to assist you in recovering your property, but I would also suggest serving him with an order of protection - given his criminal history and aggressive behavior.

Your friend isn't having a bad day, he's having a bad life.

I don't know if digging up someones police records has anything to do with any of this.

I have an assault for breaking a dudes eye socket and jaw, that doesn't mean I'll go doing it again. (He hit my sister, so yes I would do it again).

The fact is he has her snakes and is, by the sound of it, trying to do w/e it takes to not return them.Unfortunately as we have all seen to many times on here, it looks like he'll end up with them.No paper trail,or e-mails outlining any of the deal.He said/she said.

And if there is anything in the text messages, post them.So far it's a 1 sided story, not saying any of it is false, but 1 sided just the same.

well if hes doing this to you then hes not a friend .. so dont waste anymore time thinking he was a friend, just go to the cops explain everything to them and see if they can give you an escort to his place where hes keeping them ,and have them make him hand them over to you ( just make sure you take all your proof of ownership with you ) ,and let him know if he doesnt you will be going to an attorney and taking him to court ..

Poppycock, it has everything to do with it. He was charged with domestic battery. Just look at what the lady is describing about him. There is a pattern of abuse with the guy.

Why don't you just download the ones that back up your story ( because that's all it is until you provide some type of documentation, it's not required but after the pretty serious accusations you made what's the problem with proving some of this?)
 
You say you have proof of ownership and keep records along with your Iherp photos... take all that to the cops... and have them escort you to retrieve your property.

If he is trying to extort you for money he is not your friend. Period.. end of story.

hmmm , cause i know a few poeple with iphones and they are able to do it .
they text reminder notes to themselves to their email address at home so they dont forget stuff .

all you should have to do is bring up the text , click forward and enter the email address to where u want to send it .

ill see if i can get ahold of 1 or 2 of my buddies and see how they go about it
 
As of 9pm this evening, I have called the police and they have come out and filed a report for grand theft. I explained the situation and provided photos and detailed receipts and care records.

The deputy called Dartanya and explained that he understood our agreement, but he was in possession of my property and needed to return it because he had not upheld his end of our civil agreement. If he wished to pursue me for the supposed money I owed him, he was welcome to, but he must return my animals. I was told that Dartanya then demanded to speak the the supervisor and argued with him for close to an hour, and the supervisor told him the same thing, that he must return my animals. Dartanya told them I had a few rodent bins and a few bags of frozen rodents that had been his, and I told the Deputy i would be more than happy to provide these things at the exchange if that was what Dartanya wanted.

The deputy then called me back and asked for us to try and talk to each other and set up a time to meet up at the sherriff's office to do the exchange. He stated he was NOT coming to the sherriff's office, I must come get my animals, and if I wanted my animals back unharmed I must return all of his animals back unharmed, including the feeder animals my snakes had already eaten.

Yes. The feeder rodent supplier seriously said he wanted the rodents back, unharmed, that my snakes had already eaten. He then claimed i was withholding HIS animals from him.

I then calmly said that if he could not discuss things in a sane manner, to address all contact with the deputy as I was not going to discuss things with him any further. I then called the deputy back and explained what Dartanya said about wanting his feeder rodents back unharmed and the Deputy told me he had already told Dartanya to not be unreasonable that he was a feeder rodent supplier and that was impossible. So again, they called him and told him that if my animals are not returned by tomorrow evening they will be pursuing the charges and further action.

Dartanya then texted me and said he was looking into suing me because i called the police.

I just am worried sick, and I hope my animals are unharmed and safe. This is beyond my comprehension as to why he is behaving as such. I am really so sad.

You can buy a program called Tansee to get them off the phone, but I don't know of any other way to download complete logs with the iPhone. :(

well i wouldnt worry to much cause now since the police are involved anything he does he will be held accountable for . i seriously dont think he is going to harm the animals just to end up in jail for quite awhile ..
if anything is done to the animals the police will pursue the charges agaisnt him and he wont stand a chance ...
 
and if the cops think you have a case against him... I dont know how he thinks he will win in civil court either. Dont sweat it... get your animals... and be done with this creap.

It is beyond my comprehension why you think he shouldn't be behaving this way considering you either knew or now know that he has been arrested in the past for this exact type of behavior.

Do yourself a favor, get over your grief, get your animals back and make some new friends.
 
People like that are often good at hiding what they are...I'm sure she doesn't consider him a friend at this point and has no plans of a future friendship with him...be glad for the effort the police have made and hope for the best.
 
OK, lets start a new thread on show rules and policy and get back to the start.
"IF" everything stated about this Breeder Loan Gone Bad is true, And keep in mind there are to sides to every story. "IF" the deal is documented by e-mails,Tex's or writen (PROOF). It is equal to a CONTRACT between 2 parties. And if one party has not fulfilled his or her part of the contract
if is called BREACH OF CONTRACT and by holding the animals Hostage he or she is
in Possesion of Stolen Property
I am sure there is alot of other details that are unknown by us readers and both parties I am only offering a little basic law that my help others in a breeding loan. buisness kills friendship!
it may be someone you trust and you my feel a little strange asking to put it writing.
But if you can't get it in writing DON'T DO IT!

Have you checked with the police about any possible animal cruelty charges he could face if he does indeed harm your snakes intentionally?

If he does end up causing some intentional harm to your pets, and the police are able to file animal cruelty charges, I personally would not hesitate for a second to have him put away.

That is indeed what I am concerned about, according to the information that Critical Bill found, he's already been in trouble for domestic battery and animal abuse and other things. I honestly don't know. If those things are indeed true, I don't know. All I can tell you is if he does hurt my animals, I will absolutely do what is necessary.
