    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Dave Lawson Finally Where He Should Be

That boy is dreamin' if he thinks he's only 185. I'm a heavily built (and fairly solid, I might add!) 280 at 6'1", and he has jowels I couldn't polish off during an entire Thanksgiving feast!!! 185 ... Riiiiggghhhtttt!


Everyone always thought that Dave and I were some kind of computer pals, because I took Neil to task on some of the things that have passed between us. Well, Dave has always been pond scum, in my book, and it looks like he's finally getting what's rightfully coming to him. Good!
 
Rob.... you could be right.... remember that post he wrote about Dwight wanting to give him thousands of dollars (which was BS, btw) for the Malaysia shippment??....

I also think he's suspected of sub-letting the hole he was in to Saddam a couple of months ago!!.... LMAO

My lawyer did some checking this morning, and found out that he will have a Federal Bond Hearing today.... and I found out that he was able to "sign off" on all the burglaries in Hillsborough County somehow, so as to NOT have any charges brought against him for those.... which only tells me that he ratted SOMEBODY out for something.... you always have to trade UP with the Feds.... which ALSO tells me that if ANY OF YOU still think he's legitimate, trustworthy and sells nice animals (as he always professes).... you should have your heads examined!!

I'm just happy to see he's finally getting what he so rightly deserves!!

Julie Moore, I understand how tramatic it can be to have someone stalk you, especialy a guy like that, i hope his arrest can put some closeure to your whole situation.

I can say that Neil IS telling the truth this time regarding Dave's plea deal. I have known about this for sometime which makes it really difficult when I see Dave posting and trying to participate in threads like he is some asset to the herp community.

Dave did in fact confess to almost all the herp shop burglaries in the Tampa Bay area. What he told them in exchange I have no idea.....All I know is the next time this bum gets out of jail it will be to soon.

Maybe this will keep him from this weekends show!

So you are saying he was not charged for a crime you swear up and down he did? hmm.. Do you have any proof either way that the case has been dropped/signed off? and why? just asking again for the proof.. I am sorry if I am coming off like a hard ass, or defending Dave on this, I just want PROOF to be shown nothing less nothing more.

Even if he does get out of Jail by this weekend he is banned from the show not only as a Vendor but as a spectator. Now there could be a chance that he could sneak past without being seen but once he would be seen he would be asked to leave.

b.t.w. if your going to be at the Tampa show stop by my tables and say Hi. I have the last end cap on the right side of center.
 
Randall.... First of all.... I don't have to *PROVE* anything to anyone.... 90% of the people in Tampa that have at least half a brain, already KNOW who (and what) he is.... if YOU want to deal with him, and want to believe this is all hearsay, I'm certainly not going to stop you....
Try doing a little checking on your own if you're that politically correct....

As is well known fact by now neil "The Liar" gubitz is not real big on proof of anything, at all.

I have no doubt dave did what he is accused of and that there will eventually be proof provided by court transcripts or some such method of officialdom as that.

neil "The Liar" gubitz is not the place to go if you want proof for ANYTHING.

Neil, the boi is based on facts, why should this thread/topic be any different then any of the others? I am not trying to be a jerk/hard ass, only wish EVERYONE would follow the same rules.. This thread is an example of why I think most people won't associate with fauna in more then a passing time consumer rather then trying to make it a home place to conduct business. I know of a few people that refuse to use fauna and never will because of the crap like this. It is a showing of preferential treatment (whether intentional or not). You for one Neil should understand and appreciate what I am trying to get across, as I have noticed you have been a victim of the same NO FACTS TO BACK IT UP crap. (although many of the things said about you did turn about and show evidence) maybe that is why you are against evidence being shown and prefer hearsay, that way you can have an equal ground to stand on.

Again I do not know Dave, and do not care to know Dave. I also do not plan to do business with him EVER in the future.

Why would a marshal go and pick up dave on a us fish and wildlife offense? I have never heard of them being shy.

I can appreciate your request for proof or wanting to know the facts. I this particular instsance, there really is no proof to show right now to everyone else outside of the Tampa area.

In time it will come. I have known about this for sometime, but have refused to say anything because of this very fact. Since Neil brought it up, I just wanted everyone to know that is the truth.

How are we to get this proof. I guess I'll have to get someone to rig me up with a wire tap. That way I can mail you a copy of the tape. Again, it is hard to show proof right now when everything being communicated is coming out of detectives and state attorney mouths..

I understand and appreciate the situation Dennis, but I think it is inappropriate to state anything in a public forum as a fact until the proper channels are gone through and the entire process is completed.. I would have no problem with this thread if it had remained as a notice of arrest. When I started having issues with this thread is the moment it became a thread for bashing and stating opinion (everything is opinion until made into fact with evidence backing up the statement). I also understand until the process is completed/nearing completion any evidence is difficult at best to obtain. This boils back to the opinions/bashing.

Also I am not saying anyone is lying on this thread, just that everyone is jumping the gun. We (the fauna boi users/frequenters) need to treat every single thread with the same critisizm (sp?) and not allow a thread to slip through just because the person being discussed has a past that is less favorable. We need to treat this thread in the same mannor as a thread stating BIG NAME BREEDER A ripped me off by not supplying what they claimed to be selling me....

It's not that I dislike you, it more the fact that I dislike the way you have conducted yourself in certain situations.....

I have known......probably about two months or so.

How I know is my business, but we both know it is the truth!

I believe that I have aready stated why I did not want to bring this up yet, but you did, so I was just backing up your comment as the truth. I do believe that it is a little premature to bring this to the public because of the fact that we do not have a written document or something physical as proof. That is why I was going to wait and see what happens.

It is very difficult to bite your tongue about something like this when most of us know exactly what type of person Dave Lawson is..

I completely understand where you're coming from, and I have to admit, I totally agree with you.... it's just that this is a "horse of a different color".... as Dennis alluded to.... you can't get any "proof" as long as there is still an investigation in progress, especially with the Feds.... in this particular instance, the circumstantial evidence is just too strong to just let it be swept under the table for lack of "proof".... of course, Julie Moore HAS proof of his stalking (which she will be glad to show you at the Tampa show this weekend).... Susin Tippi HAS proof of the burglary he did to her (which she has already posted in another thread)....
You'll just have to go with your "gut feeling" on this one....

Now I did not say for sure it was a USF&W offense but rather that it might be. One reason a US Marshal might be involved with USF&W is that USF&W officers do not have arrest powers. They require members of other Law Enforcement offices in order to facilitate a physical arrest. In some instances local Law Enforcement is used but there are cases when the charges are enough to where they want the person in Federal custody and that arrest has to come from a Federal officer. Hopefully it will come out exactly what the charges stem from but until then I guess we are all going to have to speculate.
 
Randy, I appreciate your stance on having proof. One thing I would like to point out is that the BOI does NOT require proof. It never has and I believe RichZ has made that clear in a number of threads.
Secondly, as Neil pointed out, there is some proof on previous threads, one of which I remember is the one where Susan Tippi came on and scanned papers in. The other obvious one is that Dave IS in jail, and HAS went to jail. Proof of exactly what he is in there for now is not exact but I am sure the people who watch him closely will keep up updated quite nicely :)

Julie, if you ever need to use a scanner you can stop in and use mine. You can't possibly live too far away since were are both in Biloxi.

I'm glad this guy finally got what it appears he deserves. Lucky for me I don't think I ever havd the dis-pleasure of meeting him, but have heard enough/read enough about him to never want to!
