In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Talking about yourself again I see. Kind of funny you say that b/c you gave me bad reputation points on about 10 posts having to do with Randy Ellis.

Well said, Dan!

I for one would rather have people here who feel this site is worth the value and not handed to them. It's no different than raising a child. You don't give them everything they want, if you do they will not take care of it nor will it be appreciated. The things someone buys for oneself will hold much more value than something handed to them.

Just how would you enforce such a scheme? It was asked of me a while back about people being able to give away memberships to other people, such as customers and the like, and I didn't see any harm in doing it that way. But just where should I draw the line and how would I enforce it? What is the magic identifying feature I should look for in those people who I should disallow gift memberships from a third party?

I don't know...seems to me that the one's that are banned or fined usually repeat their behaviour again and again...so it is probably just going to be a matter of time, most likely a short time, before they are gone again...I wouldn't worry too much about it...hey, cash is king....

good day!

Apparently Bud isn't planning too long a visit. Two posts and you have managed to insult both Greg and the Webslave.

Anyone want to wager when the next heave ho will be?

I guess some people just don't play well with others

I think gift memberships are a great idea. Paying someone else's fine is another story. The fine was given for a specific violation of this site's rules. If the person didn't feel the need to pay the fine being they felt they didn't deserve it or for whatever reason they chose not to pay it then they have chosen not to return to this site. Someone who is not willing to pay an incurred fine is described below as reaching the "Good Riddance" point.

The procedure for people whom are fined and suspended to pay their fine and have the suspension lifted is simple. You need to paypal the fine to [email protected]. You MUST tell me your registered logon name at that time so I can act upon it, as I am not going to try to guess that little tidbit from the information provided in your PayPal payment.

Each subsequent time you find yourself in the position of getting suspended again, the fine will doubled until we have finally raised the bar higher then you are willing to jump over to get back on here. That is known as the "Good Riddance" point in our relationship.

Well, I certainly can't argue with that logic, and agree with it. Done. From here on out, fines must be paid by the person who was fined and suspended. The only exception to this is if someone pays THROUGH someone else for one reason or another. And I must be notified prior by the person fined, and have agreed to this arrangement in advance.

Dan.... It was a matter of principle this time.... I didn't think that this particular fine was warranted, and I wasn't going to pay it, period.... It had nothing to do with whether this site was good or not (I think it is, btw), and it's certainly not like I couldn't afford it, it was just principle, plain and simple....

But, thanks for the welcome back to all that did....

Neil

Neil, you had been warned time and time again, as well as Wes, to cease your feud in this forum. I stated emphatically that if either of you went at each other again outside of the HELL forum then either one of you would get fined and suspended. As it happened, you both went at it so I had no other choice but to fine and suspend BOTH of you. This is the post you made that I determined qualified you for that penalty:
Wes.... I understand.... it takes an adult to forgive and forget....

No harm done....

Neil

I believe that most people would have interpretted that exactly the same way I did. There was no principle issue at all in this. There is NO mistaking what you meant by that "adult" comment, and you damn well know that as well as I do. :>poke2<:

Thank you. I just made a similar point in the Hell thread. Good point and good post, David!!

Lol. That remids me so much of my grandpa. He has a million and one sayings. One being "It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it".

Welcome back my good friend! I have missed the poetry of your words! Let us now contemplate the ways of the Force for the task that is now at hand!!!!

you know, I really cannot help but find your signature quite disturbing. an individual is jailed for a very serious crime that could have potentially damaged the hobby and you flaunt a phrase such as "free mike barrera" like a bumper sticker?

You should seriously be ashamed of yourself.....

Whats that say for your character or morals for that matter?

I'm sorry, but the more I see it, the more it aggrivates me....

Carry on...

By the way, here is my thoughts for those of you who are always telling us about how moral and ethical you are, and then viciously attacking and victimizing others who are not as capable of defending themselves:

You write things here that you wouldn't dare say to my or someone else's face in person. Those who claim to be the most moral and ethical are always among the least. And, the greatest coward is he who wraps himself in the American flag.

Actually Bruce, I would absolutely love to share my thoughts and views with you in person if given the chance. I am far from one of the ones you have described, I am quite sure you probably realize this. I simply stated that your signature left your morals in question and did not state anything about my own. Correct me if I am wrong. I do hope you reconsider your signature in the near future, I do enjoy our conversations here and there, but I would have to strongly disagree with the way you have chosen to flaunt a very serious issue. Joke or no joke, its simply in bad taste.
