    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

In florida to buy or sell a hot snake you need the permit. No one broke the law bud has appearently been given some bad infomation and forgotten that he was right there while the transaction was taking place. No big deal...
 
i understand that dave. let me start by saying thanks for not jumping all over me, because it really was more of a question than the statement my post looked like. i was under the impression that to sell an animal hot or not on a permit that you have to have records of purchase or origination (ie. you hatched it) and where they are in your collection, until they are no longer in your possesion. brokering an animal seems very grey in florida, and with you saying she sold the animal to jo is making it look like you were just there with a permit number as she is not an employee from your post. but, i do understand typing a fast and angry reply when someone questions you.

Howard I agree with you (which is a scary thought). The entire situation on this "hot" snake is very suspicious. I am sure the FWC officers in Tampa would feel the same way. There is no way legally in Florida that she could have owned the snake without having the permit. And by Dave selling the snake as he stated he did for her he technically has violated Florida regulations. And yes in the State of Florida a seller must keep proof of (non venomous) ownership until the animal sells. Now protected species (such as American Alligator) and Venomous snakes they are required to keep the documents for 1 year after sale. So in order for Dave to legally sell this animal he would have had to have documentation showing he purchased (from a licensed party if in Florida), traded for (with a Licensed party if in Florida), or produced the animal himself.

Now just to inform everyone, Julie purchased the snake at a out of state show. She was working off her hot hours here with me under my permit. The snake was always in my care, now with all that said She wanted to sell the snake which she did under my permit, which is with in the rules and laws set forth by the state of florida.

I have held a hot permit since 1985 and if any of you guys think that it was a illegal sale then by all means please report it. I have complete records of each and every deal.

Not quite. "Lyman and I" bought the snake at an expo in South Carolina. When we split up all of the animals we had together were left with Lyman with the exception of the albino diamondback, my burmese, and my cockatoo.

Wrong again - I never said it was stolen and was honest with Joe that it had belonged to Lyman and me.

The truth is simple.... Julie and Lyman never had a hot permit and I do so I keep the snake here until they got a permit. Over the time period of 6 or 8 months Lyman and julie has gotten other animal from me some on credit. Once the two of them split up I still had the snake here and niether one of them had a permit. Julie with no where else to go move in here I did not want the snake and Julie owned it so she wanted to take it to Southeast and sell it and since I have a hot permit I had to go.

The only thing truthful in that entire statement is that Dave kept the snake for us seeing as we did not yet have a hot permit.

Now I'm sure Dave is going to come up with all kinds of lies and excuses to make it seem like I am the one not telling the truth and that he once again the "victim". He is the one that wanted me to sell it to begin with. I don't even know what to say to all of this because of all the lies that Lawson has spread (and appartently still is) about me, so if ANYONE wants to question ANYTHING about about what I have said or have to say - feel free. Unlike Lawson, "I" am not the one who has a whooooooooole lot to hide. Just forgive me if I don't reply immediately because I am offline at the moment and having to go to the library to cheack my e-mail. Sheesh!

You are clearly VERY GUILTY OF EXTREMELY BAD JUDGEMENT but you are no criminal. I wish you had taken some of my advice a long time ago and just remained quiet. Most of the crap that happened to you would never have happened if you had just stayed quiet.

I am one of the people that originally believed in you but your responses and seeming inability to take any of the advice that friends were trying to give you made me change my mind.

Well, like I said, I sincerely apologize. I was wrong about you. If there is anything I can do to make it up to you just let me know. I've stayed quiet on this since last year because I was waiting for maybe another shoe to drop. But apparently that's not going to happen now.

I know you aren't perfect but you deserve a good deal of your credibility back. I can't imagine what you went through and I'm truly sorry if I made it worse.

It looks like the existence of the BOI has proven its worth in a really big way. This issue took a really long time to resolve and a lot of people rode an emotional rollercoaster along with you but the truth has apparently prevailed. Rich deserves mucho kudos for this site and the way he has restrained himself during this whole ugly affair.
 
John.... I really appreciate you saying that.... you're absolutely correct, though.... I just can't keep my mouth shut, and it gets me in trouble A LOT.... but, hey, what are you gonna do???.... Rich and Jerry Tressler have told me MANY TIMES to just stay quiet, but I just never have sense enough to listen to good advice.... one of my downfalls, I guess....

since my post was deleted the third party is my friend garret and his wife marce and i was there so its not really third party that he owes them their bearded dragons and he has not given them there money or there dragons back.

From what I understand Neil just paid his fine yesterday after almost 4 months "leave of absence". In fact he was visiting the BOI a few minutes ago. In all honesty I will have to say that we haven't heard one complaint from Neil for a long time. I'm wondering if he is still in business with Jeff Lewis, that’s the last partner he had. As far as Dave Lawson goes I have no idea where he is, nor do I need to know.

Actually bruce stephenson paid gubitz's fee and I suspect he did so just to see if he, bruce, could get gubitz and I to go at it again.

Meet disappointment bruce. Outside of hell or a personal attack, which would result in suspension again, I've got nothing to say to gubitz.

I will say though that it was a pretty crappy thing to do to this site, your paying his fine.

I'm not sure if you care to answer questions Neil, but what was of Jeff Lewis? We use to interact quite a bit in here and he was a regular, now he has disappeared completely.
