    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hi i just bought a group of 66% het albino from him..it was supose to be shipped overnite to me, but it wasn't. he had shipped it second day express usps...i asked him if he would refund me my money or replace the animals if any thing goes wrong and he said No!!!!...i havn't got the animals yet i have to wait untill tomorow....but i will let you know how they are....

i will not ever do business with him agian.........
 
It is terrible that someone would ship a snake through the USPS as It is illegal (and a federal offense) to ship snakes through the USPS and they can not guarantee overnight on live shipments(other than snakes) any longer. I would let him know about this thread so he can see that you are unhappy with the way he shipped.

David...I would suggest that you start shipping legally and not through the USPS as you are going to nothing more than subject yourself to federal problems and by shipping like that does nothing for the reptile community. If you don't have another way of shipping then you need to go about getting certified through Fed-Ex to ship, or ship through the Airlines. US Air will allow shipments of all Reptiles without the need of being a verified shipper such as Delta requires.
 
Rob.... Do you REALLY think he cares??.... ANYBODY who ships USPS, couldn't care less about the health of the animals.... OR the legality!!.... Good try, though....

I don't think I have every said the word [COLER=red](NO!!!)[/COLER] for rufunding any money or replaceing DOA's. And I did explain the shipping and sent her a tracking #. Veasna has not even got the snakes in her hand and wrighting this post and bad mouthing me for no reason!!! If there is a problem after the snakes are in her hand then we will work something out at that point.

And for Rob @ RK Reptiles I have been shipping and recieving reptiles (Snakes) with USPS for years and it has been legal!! I have checked in the past month and tell the person at the counter that I am shipping Live Harmless Reptiles (SNAKES) and have had no problem. Rob is right. The only reptiles you can ship legally through USPS are tortoises, lizards, and alligators (under a certain size limit which I can't recall on top of my head). This has been discussed in several posts, and the links to the USPS page with the regulations has been posted elsewhere in the BOI.

You can say that you have permission all you want but it will not change the truth, It is 100% illegal to ship snakes through the USPS now and has been that way. There is no way an employee of the USPS would let you ship snakes and violate the policy when they even now have a little check they have to make sure if the package has any perishables, hazardous materials and such in it when you drop them off. Maybe you should just start shipping legally and properly and stop trying to save a few pennies by shipping that way with an illegal method.
 
This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from a shipper.

If you truly had any clue what you were talking about instead of trying to save a few measley bucks at the expense of your reputation and the animals in your care, you would KNOW that UPS or Airborne wouldn't cost more than about $40 (which the customer pays anyway so what difference does it make to you?) and you would also know it IS illegal to ship snakes through the USPS. I know I would MUCH rather pay an extra 20 bucks shipping to get an animal I want here safely...and in the past, my customers sure have as well.

And just because you have done it this way before....doesn't make it the right way to do it. It's been well over 100 degrees in many parts of California for the last 3 weeks....nighttime temps are not the concern......DAYTIME temps are when you are knowingly shipping an animal using a service that could even POSSIBLY take two days to arrive.

I'm sure your intentions weren't bad ones, but it was DEFINITELY irresponsible to use a two day service for ANY reptile.

Hope the aren't jello when they get there!

Shipping snakes via USPS is illegal. No if, ands, or buts. It doesn't matter what the person behind the counter tells you, shipping snakes via USPS is a crime.

got them in...

i just got the snake to day at about 2:15 pm...its almost
100 degrees outside in california....i open the box and they were still alive but they was very dehydrated and weak....he did not put a Ice pack in the box...come on now its the middle of summer!!!!....its hot....plus its been in the box for about 3 days now...mon, tues, weds....

I hope they pull through for you AND prove out. I'm sure it was only a matter of a couple more hours that would have undoubtedly cost them their lives. UPS has ranged anywhere from $30 - $60 depending, and it's guaranteed arrival by 10:30 AM the next day. I drop off late at the counter, and they arrive early....less time in transit, safer for the animals, which is by far OUR #1 priority, right??????

You recieved the snakes just over 49 hour after I shipped them out (NOT 3 DAYS) and just like to thank you for all the bad mouthing I am getting from there because of you!! You have realy changed my mind about selling over the internet. I believe in giving very good deals on all my animals. I see people selling 66% hets for $300 or more so you should be very happy with what you have recieved. At the price of slaming my good name!! Again I would like to THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact still remains that you're shipping illegally. I could give a rat's ass what some flunky behind the counter told you- their word does not supercede Federal regulation.

49 hours... that's piss poor.

Why should your customers be happy David? You're making them party to a Federal crime.

Bottom line is: Anything longer than 24 hours in transit is a problem because of temps....let alone it being in California. Most of my animals average about 14 hours in transit, and it has served the animals and my customers well.......me too......but I'm the 3rd most important party in a transaction as the animal is first and the customer is second.

We sound harsh and are slamming you because you don't really seem to give a damn what the rest of the herp community thinks nor do you appear to realize that you have made a mistake. It happens to all of us man, heck, I'll make two or three today......nobody wants to roast you just to do it......but I think admitting to an honest mistake of using a poor shipping method and being lucky that nothing has died in the past.....and USING the information and knowledge you have gained here about what is expected in shipping from hobbyists (CUSTOMERS) buying a herp.......you could make a few minor changes to your practices.....state it as such here........and if you follow through with it, I for one, would buy from you. It appears you have some quality animals.....just some CS issues that can be easily cleared up.

Good luck in the future and sorry for the run-on sentence above!
