2.2 2017 Hatch David's rat snakes, Elaphe davidi. These are very rare, seldom offered rat snakes from China that quickly became one of our favorite species to keep. David's rat snakes have only become available in the hobby in the last several years, but captive-hatched babies such as these have proven to be very hardy. David's rats are thick-bodied animals with heavily keeled scales that stay under four feet long. They prefer cooler temperatures like many other Asian rat snakes. The hatchlings are feeding on large pinky mice. $2500.00/pair shipped. (Also pictured in the adult female just before she laid.)
