Dawg Tard

I am, as we say here in the South, Dawg Tard. The Teen and I spent
the entire day cleaning and throwing stuff out. He is moving back in, and
I am at an age where I do not like to clean just for fun and I am
tired of the buildup of useless 'stuff' in my home (I don't really
think I liked cleaning when I was younger, but y'all understand, no?)
I threw out half the stuff in the garage, several cruddy bookcases,
stuff in closets, and a lot of stuff that I had stored saying *I might
need it someday*.

Of course, the universe being what it is, I will indeed need something
I threw away for a project in the near future, but I am not going to
even complain when I have to go buy it. I am just happy that the junk
on the shelves is gone and when I do need something I have I don't
have to spend a huge amount of time looking for it (I am even
labelling boxes and bins in the garage, I got this great deal on
little filing boxes and bought 25 of them to store thinks like bird
toy parts, reptile accessories,small hardware, etc)

The garage actually looks good!
Do y'all start your new year out like this with a 'spring' cleaning?

i'm actually doing a similar thing with baby clothes and clothes i don't wear anymore. i actually decided to extend it to asking people at work to give me their old clothes and shoes and am going to donate it to a homeless shelter/battered women's shelter. figured i'd put the stuff i consider junk to good use for somebody else.
