In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy DEAD SNAKES from Kevin South of The Constrictors Labrynth

Ok Nick, very simply and shortly, please explain to us what you meant when you e-mailed Kevin and stated that you were going to try to sell the snake if it remained ill(your words). No need for you to dump the usual big pile of :censored: for us to needlessly sift through, just a straight and to the point answer will be sufficient.

All i can say is that im in agreeance with Nick. Yes, he has stated multiple times that he made a mistake. Someone implied earlier in the thread that i was brushing this off as a "simple mistake.." Those werent my words, i never said SIMPLE. However, still a mistake. This was a very unfortunate circumstance for everyone involved, but my god! Everyone is entitled to a 2nd chance, geeze! This isnt anywhere NEAR something like a drunk driver killing someone, and even those people are given a 2nd chance. Am I justifying the mistake? No, but im a firm believer in 2nd chances, and giving the opportunity to learn from your mistakes. I also need to RESTATE, since some havent picked up on it in any of my previous posts that in NO WAY did he pressure us to buy the snake, or hint that he was GOING to sell it. Again, as i have stated before, WE initiated the sale of this snake. In reference to the post that i keep seeing quoted for Nick "selling a sick snake....and keeping or selling it, etc" if i have read all the posts correctly, the snake he is referencing is the snake that he KEPT that died. That is the snake that was referenced in the emails between Nick and Kevin, NOT the one that we purchased. Does it make it right that he was thinking about selling the snake? No, but if you reread all the emails, Kevin states that the snake we got was fine, just underweight, and that the other het was the one with the wheeze, possibly sick. So, technically, he was not aware that he was selling us a sick snake, just that it was thin, as stated by Kevin. I think the last thing i wanted to throw in at this point was that the 3 snakes that Nick provided to us to cover the sick snake were NOT NOT NOT from his collection or stock. These snakes were purchased from a third party, i believe before this all happened, and apon receiving the, were given to us without being introduced into the collection. NO NO NO the snakes are not housed with our other population either. They are on quarantine as well.

OK, my buyer's report came back. The snake Kevin South sold me came back a "positive".
So there ay go, to all you haters..........telling me I was wrong huh? Telling me I was lying huh? Making unfounded statements or implying I was attacking Kevin needlessly? Really? This, I do believe, if I adhere to what over a dozen people have told me....."should back-up my thread that was written to warn all of you, support my case so-to-speak".

So there ya go.........there ya have it.........I was not lying.......my words now have a little support, huh?! No, wait, a whole lot of support.

By the way, I cannot stress enough, we and our buyers are FRIENDS through all of this, professional, kind to one another, FRIENDS......and yet......where is Kevin? Where is our money? Where is his professionalism, where is his kindness towards us, for our loss, for the attacks placed against us? If we can work to help our buyers, why does Kevin South have to remain M.I.A.?

I want to thank all that have given us kind words and told us to hang on until the report cleared us of any misplaced claims. Thanks again! Lotsof you people are really cool and gave us more mental support than you could imagine. Even to some of the haters, we need to thank some of you too, for motivating us to do better, to work for discovery of the facts, to clear our name and to show we are honest, open, caring, sharing, and dedicated to the preservavtion and health of not only our animals, but YOURS as well *(hence, we started the thread!).

Not that it's a good thing that the report came back positive, but it is good info to know, and it is certainly good for all of us to be aware so we can adjust accordingly.

If anyone knows how to reach Kevin South, can someone ask him to call or email me, so we can even-up. Oh wait, he's not accepting calls or emails. I think he's just a young guy, he has to be, the way he's avoiding his responsibilities. Truly, hopefuly he and I can connect and work through this 'professionally'.

Again, thanks to all that showed us understanding! Cool of you!

If there is anything else we can do to clear our name, show that we care, say the word.

If anyone can convince Kevin South that a 'positive report' is good evidence that he sent us animals that were ill, we'd appreciate your time. Im not sure he'll agree, he's been in denial for quite some time now.....but we are hoping, truly, that he can see things from a new perspective now that it's been proven he shipped us some bad stuff. We STILL do NOT take it personal and would work with Kevin to help him straighten all of this stuff out, so we all end up in a win-win situation. Really, peace is what we want, well....peace and some more money back in our pockets ;-)

Also, one last thank you, to our buyers, they ROCK! They were understanding, nice, calm, professional, and it's easy to see why we're now friends ;-)

oops! I forgot to throw in there... now that its determined that its IBD, why arent you guys all pissed off at the original seller....? He HAD to have known that there was something wrong with the snake, and he sold it... Nick didnt know this snake was sick and sold it... yet all the heat is on him????? Again.... the sick snake that everyone is referencing being "Dumped" is the one that died in his care, NOT the snake that he sold us... So the gripe to everyone that he ACTUALLY sold a sick snake is not valid... ;) thanks!

Rob, anyone locally that knows me KNOWS I do not DUMP. I meant lose, remove from my available inventory, put-down if needed, medicate, anything except to sell.
Seriously Rob, anyone in the Denver area that knows me knows I stand behond my stuff, and I keep a clean area, very clean.
We are honest, cut & dry, no doubt about it.
Listen, if I had a sick snake, and you were new to the hobby, and you wanted to hand me your $100 and didn't know better....I'm NOT the guy to take your money. I would not sell the sick snake....not if I knew it was ill. I believe in Karma Bud.

Everyone is entitled to a 2nd chance, geeze!

Wendy Lynn,

the purpose of the BOI is so people can hear about transactions and them judge for themselves whether they want to deal with a particular buyer or seler. No one in business is ENTITLED to anything, sellers must work to gain the trust and business of their buyers.

People have livelihoods and a lot of money tied up in their businesses and reptile collections.

R. I believe in Karma Bud.

Me too.......

Yes, I think the heat should be turned up to get some answers from the seller. But I like the way Nick, you and other supporters keep skipping over the other email Nick sent and keep making claims by what he meant as "dumped" in the other email.
If Nick took the time to clear it up or provided have the information you have or the reports coming in from other supporters, it wouldn't have been such a tough road for him here. You have answered all the questions directed of you except every time this email is pointed out. Yet we are going back to the meaning of "dumped" again.

Again, So Nick, What the heck does this mean? Clear it up just as easy as the dumped comment.
What I will try to do over the next few days is try to sell this guy. If he sells for more than the balance I have invested, I will send you any overage. If he does not sell or if he remains ill/dies, I will let ya know. I increased temps and will monitor daily.
You're a Pro, all the way!
Thanks-
Nick

Hey Kevin, Where did you get the snake from again? I sure hope you have stopped advertising at the moment.

Not referring to the 2 you needed to dump. "If he remains ill, I will try to sell him"...your e-mail to Kevin. Does SELL also mean "remove from available inventory, put down, medicate, etc..." in your vernacular?

Im sorry, I thought i was clear in my posting.. I really dont want to get in the middle of all this, but i guess its too late for that. I cant comment on the "Dumped" part, or the selling, except to say EXACTLY what i have already said..

"Does it make it right that he was thinking about selling the snake?" In which i answered no. I dont think that is skipping over the email. I addressed it, that it wasnt right.

(Sorry, i dont know how to quote several posts... still workin on learning.)

Im just wondering, with as much damage that the snake had to its organs, does anyone know approximately how much time it takes to do this much damage to an animal.....? From what the vet tells me, it was pretty extensive.

I honestly dont know... but Im sorry you had to get that snake into your collection. I would be asking the vet how long it takes to transfer from that snake to your collection. I hope the rest of your collection will come out of this unhurt.

I'm saying I do NOT knowing sell ill animals!

Please for the love of god... explain what you said here then.

Kev, Just saw a partial refund.......thoughtful.

Please.... explain how that is not KNOWINGLY selling sick animals?

.....but I also do not need it said that I normally sell sick snakes.....it is simply NOT true! NOT true.

Thats not what your email states that you sent your seller. Explain that!

......so it's utterly ridiculous to imply we'd sell ill snakes.

Ummmm you said you will try to sell the ill snake and if he dies you'd let Kevin know. We aren't implying anything. We are going off YOUR words. Care to explain?

This got way out of control. Every word is ripped apart, many different personalities, things are twisted, changed, misunderstood, that changes everything. No time for the haters......the positive people need to help look beyond the childish behaviors.

Kinda hard to change or twist your words... when they are being completely quoted.

Wendy, I am sorry to hear about your vet results. It had to of made your heart sink when you read the confirmed diagnosis. I do not know how long it takes to develop all that crazy stuff but it would seem to have to happen over a long period of time.

Good luck with your new snakes. I hope everything works out for you and hopefully, this will not be detrimental to your collection.

Ya might want to do some research on here about Nick. He's had the 2nd and 3rd chances. Might want to see how he talks to his female sellers as well. It's on here for the world to see.

No,

what I dont understand is why you would want to stick up for him knowing he would sell a sick snake. It could have just as easily been you that got the sick snake.

OK, my buyer's report came back. The snake Kevin South sold me came back a "positive".

On around 5-10 you were saying you had a positive report in an email to Kevin

So there ay go, to all you haters..........telling me I was wrong huh? Telling me I was lying huh? Making unfounded statements or implying I was attacking Kevin needlessly? Really? This, I do believe, if I adhere to what over a dozen people have told me....."should back-up my thread that was written to warn all of you, support my case so-to-speak".

So there ya go.........there ya have it.........I was not lying.......my words now have a little support, huh?! No, wait, a whole lot of support.

So which is it... did you have the report on around 5-10 when you were trying to blackmail Kevin.... or is it just now showing up? Do you not keep beating your chest about not selling sick snakes... but yet emailed Kevin on how you would try to sell off the snake and if it remained ill or died you'd let him know.

You wouldn't know the truth if it slapped you across the head. You're a liar and your own words prove it.

By the way, I cannot stress enough, we and our buyers are FRIENDS through all of this, professional, kind to one another, FRIENDS......

No comment

Not that it's a good thing that the report came back positive, but it is good info to know, and it is certainly good for all of us to be aware so we can adjust accordingly.

Yep.... Its good to know that you had IBD in your collection. Wonder how many other snakes of your's is now infected. Have you shut down completely and destroyed all your equipment... or are you gonna chance sending IBD to your customers?

If there is anything else we can do to clear our name, show that we care, say the word.

How about learing how to tell the truth and be honest.... however it will take time for people to believe you.

oops! I forgot to throw in there... now that its determined that its IBD, why arent you guys all pissed off at the original seller....? So the gripe to everyone that he ACTUALLY sold a sick snake is not valid... ;) thanks!

How is it not valid? Nick said he is going to sell a sick snake unless it dies. How is that not valid? It goes to show his ethics and morals. How can you be ok with that?

Rob, anyone locally that knows me KNOWS I do not DUMP. I meant lose, remove from my available inventory, put-down if needed, medicate, anything except to sell.

That's cause anyone local would come look you up. You still haven't explained your email to Kevin that several of us keep refering too. How bout explaining that one.

Quit side stepping the issue. Explain why you said to Kevin that you would try to sell a snake you knew was ill... and if it died.. .you'd let him know.

Wendy, I'm also a bit dumbfounded as to your defense of Nick. Selling a sick snake can be a mistake...KNOWINGLY selling a sick snake is a scam of the worst kind. Comparing this to DUI's is moot, because they are completely unrelated(and DUI's aren't mistakes). People in this hobby/industry poor thousands of dollars into their collections and work far too hard. Having people around that would knowingly sell a sick animal poses far too great a risk to the honest people. And people who would knowingly sell a sick animal show absolutely no regard for a hobby/industry that too many people work too hard to keep thriving.

Wendy, I'm also a bit dumbfounded as to your defense of Nick. Selling a sick snake can be a mistake...KNOWINGLY selling a sick snake is a scam of the worst kind.

I will prolly catch some flack for this, but it wont be the first time and it sure wont be the last.. unless of course I get that vacation.

Wendy, could your defense of Nick have to do with the 3 for 1 deal he gave you because of your snake dying? I can't fathom why someone would be willing to look past what Nick was trying to do. Even if you weren't the one that got the sick snake he was refering to in his email to Kevin... you still got a sick snake! He was still trying to offload that snake onto someone.

Why would you want to defend someone like that? Please... enlighten me. I mean that sincearly (sp?). Please help me understand.

I'm sitting quietly by, awaiting some comment from Kevin South. The snake that was necropsied was the one that Kevin stated he'd had in his collection since Jan '09. While it may, or may not, have been infected before he acquired it, the disease progressed while he had it. Secondary symptoms were obvious when Nick received it, which means they were obvious when Kevin sent them. To me, that means that Kevin is either totally oblivious to the animals in his care...or that he knowingly sent sick animals. Either way, it's a big red mark.
So, Kevin, what are YOU going to do now that the diagnoses have been confirmed?

oops! I forgot to throw in there... now that its determined that its IBD, why arent you guys all pissed off at the original seller....? And Kevin most definitely should come here and address this situation. He also should shut down his operations as far as buying/selling goes. He should probably also cull 1 or 2 of his snakes and have them tested, as this is an issue to be taken seriously.

The reason Nick catches so much flack here is the way he represents himself. In this thread alone we have seen attempted blackmail, condescending attitude toward the fauna community, repeated lying, skirting direct answers to anything, and more.
