    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dealing with Mick/WichitaFallsReptileRescue (Fireside3) and business charm.

This was investigated and proven false. So he is a proven liar as well as being arrogant and rude. His solution if he doesn't like what someone says is to delete it and replace it with his own edited version of what that person supposedly said. I would never trust him with an animal or obtain an animal from him.

Perhaps so, But I follow him on facebook, regardless of what anyone says about him, the welfare of animals supersedes giving one hoot what people think or have to say about it.

He's highly skilled at rescuing cases that would have otherwise died, and when he spots an injustice, he's very loud about letting the world know how he feels.

is he abrasive? heck yes... but you can't fight a war by playing nice.

The problem is that he is attacking people who are on the same side -- other competent rescuers. I did not feel that he was just abrasive. He cursed me out with such vulgarity -- it was inappropriate and totally unprofessional. His attitude reflects badly on the entire reptile community. I know many other competent rescuers who do a much better job because they also have people skills. No matter how much he supposedly loves animals, he has no right to treat people the way he does. His Facebook page is a blight on the reptile community with it's vulgarity and disparagement. He obviously, based on his website, has a problem with the whole concept of reptiles as pets. He places them, but he really does not seem to believe they should be in captivity in the first place.

Yes, the individual he attacked was me. He redacted the emails to be damaging towards me and to put himself in the best light. This guy is irrational; I hate to say that but it's true. He went from 0-1000 in 2 seconds when I was trying to have a discussion with him about the ramifications of crossing state lines with a wild animal and also about the potential for fungal disease to spread. I have the full email trail, unedited, if anyone would like to see it. I'd avoid this guy like the plague as he thrives on creating drama and living in a fake reality. I'm really hurt by what he did to me yesterday but what can I expect from someone who is so irrational?

I’d also like to note that I have been in discussion with NJ Fish and Wildlife, and they have indicated that what he is doing is wrong and that I cannot cross state lines with the snake. Yeah, I upset him by saying that I’d release the snake because he started threatening me, but I didn’t actually mean it…I just wanted him to go away. However, according to conversations that my husband had with the above-mentioned department, the best bet IS TO release the snake. They are being accommodating for our concerns regarding the snake, however, and hooked us up with a local rehabilitator.
 
Anyone who brought up a rational argument in my defense (including myself) have been banned from his Facebook page while he continues to trash me using my name and bits and pieces of conversation. He has pointed out that I am a female quite a few times in a way that was less than friendly to females... he is clearly misogynistic at times.

I feel bad because I don't doubt that he has helped animals. However, he is overstepping his boundaries and acts with a god complex.

He has pretty much stated in so many words that he doesn't care about the snake fungal infection going around in the east.

Fully agreed.

But in the nicest possible hypocritical way (I keep reptiles, and often hate myself for it) the more time I spend studying these animals, the more guilt I feel for holding them captive in anything less than a vast enclosure that not only supplies the animal's needs, but also addresses the much needed room to really move.

I so often see where people do in fact realize that certain lizards can run very fast, what is the whole point behind taking an animal that can cover several miles in a day and locking it in a box? it is selfish. I am selfish because I do it myself, but I have people skills.
 
I was once subscribed to his Facebook page and gave a donation of $50 once. I got into a debate with him about something to do with ball python morphs. I eventually got seriously irritated and ticked off when he couldn't make a single reply without insulting my intellegence or calling names and being rude. After that I unliked his page. He really needs to learn to communicate with people better or he will end up having no support, money or otherwise, for his rescue.

I'll go ahead and remind everyone publicly as well before this goes farther - name calling and profanity (this includes quoting profanity) are not allowed.
 
I doubt this person is an actual Herpetologist. They don't usually ask for donations of "expired" prescriptions. And, technically, by using those prescriptions on animals for whom they've not be prescribed, he is in violation of Texas Ocupations Code Title 4, Chapter 801, I would think. A question for the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners??
