Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

but how did she get banned?

I figured since shes been here long enough and endowed she'd know the rules. Im not looking to black spot anyone or start a controversy, just wondering what she did so I dont make the same mistake.
 
I won't speak for the other moderators, but I'm not inclined to discuss such things concerning another member, especially in an open forum.
Suffice it to say, the point threshold was reached and she'll be back in a day or two.
 
I understand, I thought she was perma banned. Was gonna miss reading some of her responses to people. lol. Ill lock the thread if it would make u more comfortable
 
I moved this to the Fauna Feedback Forum (from General BS).
My initial thought was to remove it....but I remembered at least one precedent for leaving it, so I dropped Rich a line & he suggested moving it here (the appropriate place for a discussion of this nature). He also made this comment - In the past, when I was asked why someone was banned, I didn't have any concern over explaining my reasons. I felt that if I couldn't justify it publicly, then quite reasonably I shouldn't have done it.
When it's put in that context, I really can't disagree - Deborah and josiediann were both banned for 3 days due to continuing their feud in a recent BOI thread. The points from that action, combined with those from her infractions, bumped her total up & triggered an automatic 1 month ban...which is why josiediann is back, and Deborah isn't. Part of me feels that those posts don't merit a one month, and I've considered lifting the ban before that time; then, of course, I start wondering if I would even think about it if she wasn't a friend of mine, which makes me dig my heels in like the stubborn fool I am.

Yeah, I'm sure most people think it's really cool to have the power to ban people, but seriously, it is not. And it's why I try very hard to only put in moderators of the caliber that Harald displays who think along these lines.

We are trying very hard to clean up this site and make it a better environment for everyone. We can't do this without your help. So, please, think about whether you are HELPING THINGS, or MAKING THINGS WORSE before you click that "Submit Reply" button......

Aahhhhh...I'd wondered why she didn't come back after three days. I do miss her! :( But I totally understand, and if she racked up enough infraction points to trigger a one month ban, then that is on her. It would definitely look like favoritism if you let her back early. (As sad as that makes me to say!)

Nice to know that I can come on a site and not have a the "old folks," (not old by age but been here a while), team up and push out the noobs. Anyone wanna try to cry about favortism should be directed to this thread.
 
Contrary to popular opinion I didnt come back because Deborah was banned. Didnt know she was banned until someone actually asked me if thats why "I was back". I hold no ill will towards her and she was not the reason I went into "Fauna hiatus". I was focusing on getting show prepped, opening a retail operation, dealing with an aftermath of that dang tornado (which I am still dealing with), and just not being on the computer as often.

Deborah is an asset to our community whether we agree with what she says or not. Albeit, she is as stubborn as a mule at times and doesnt always listen, she still holds animals as her top priority. I hope she comes back soon and look forward to reading "most" of her posts and nodding my head in agreement with her.

There is an old saying," time flies when we're having fun." It's just the opposite in this case, that is why time is dragging by, there is no fun to be had without Deb. I'm sure she will be back soon.

She got a 2 point infraction for a borderline abusive post in the BOI. I haven't checked to see how long the ban is for. I just levied that appropriate infraction and let the automated system do whatever needed to be done.

As I have mentioned, I am serious about cleaning up the personal spats and attacks on this site. You all can either help me with this or try to hinder me. But the hindrance won't last too long.... :shrug01:
