    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This guy has three retics; he says in his ad that if he doesn’t sell them this weekend he is going to freeze them. I am in the process of getting a screen shot of the ad he posted on Grand Rapids Crags list, any help with this guys would be appreciated.

I am the poster of the above ad. I help with MI Reptile Rescue and the group is in Battle Creek this weekend for a Herp Society Event. Right now they are not too awfully far from where this guy lives so I hoped that he would give them to rescue rather than killing them.
As of typing this we have still had no response from this guy one the fate of these snakes.

Can the humnae society or police not stop him even if they are not cute little fuzzy animals they deserve protection to..... What is wrong with this man ?????? I cannot imagine what type of person could do something like this !

I am thinking the same thing. Just like that one person that put p the rabbit that he was going to eat. Said sif he did not make $$ he was going to eat it.

Since I have also been involved in dog rescue for years I have developed some contacts with Animal Controls and Humane Societys. I did email this guys listing to several, along with the reverse look up of his name, address, etc. I asked them to do something if they could.
I have not heard back yet but its possible they wont check email until Monday. I hope its not too late by then.

I remember seeing that Gary. He was updating the website with recipes and photos and saying he would eat the rabbit if he didn't get money. People actually sent him a pretty decent amount of money to "save" the rabbit.
Looks like this one is pulling the same stunt.

I hope you are right, and that thought did occur to me. I just hope all of you reputable snake and reptile people keep this mans name burned in your memory in case he ever contacts you wanting to purchase more snakes.

Good, honest reptile keepers would not be as evil and cruel as to make threats like this just to get a sale. Even if he does not intend on really doing it, in my book this guy is a great big jerk.

Once a month there is a reptile show/swap meet type of thing in Grand Rapids (not far from this guy). I guess I don't understand why he wouldn't just take the retics there and try to sell/trade them if he was having so much trouble.

No matter how many years I am involved in rescue, I will never cease to be surprised at what some humans can do to helpless animals.

LOL i remember that thing. It was a whole website dedicated to this one rabbit. Save Toby i think? I thought it was pretty funny to be honest... He never really was going to hurt the rabbit.
 
This is Chris Cowan's mother I have been in contact with the Traverse County sheriff department just a few minutes ago. I had them look here since the ad has been removed from Craigslist. I hope they are in time to stop this guy from doign anything stupid like killing them or even dumber turning them loose. I let the police know these are snakes that reach a potential of about 20 plus feet so should be made a priority to get them before he harms therm or allows them to go free and possible harm something. I have even offered to go get them if needed.... peole like this are why herps have a bad name

The offer from the Reptile Rescue to help these snakes is still open as well.
 
The funny thing here is that there are tons of places that would take these snakes.

I vend Michigan Retile Shows. I do not do the grand Rapid one very much becuase of other reasons but still.

I still think it is a scam becuase the person is saying pay or I kill.
 
Apoligize for the typos this is mom again I am going to register for my own acct. I was on the phone and posting at the same time... the police saw your offer too Beth so maybe contact them in the morning and see what they are doing about him. Hopefully they get the snakes alive and well.... Or maybe it was just an attempt ton get money ... then that is at worst animal cruelty and at best fraud if he was just after money either way is a sad person
