I'm sure this is not the typical boi post, but felt it should be out there for people to see what this person is like. Starts out with the guy adding me to his facebook business page, without asking me. I do not know this guy, and I do not have him on my friend's list. Turns out, it was his wife who added me. First I posted on his page, "Who added me to this group?" No answer, and the post was promptly deleted. The guy is at the NARBC show, and is updating his fb often, as a form of advertising. While it may seem minor, I do not like people adding me to things without asking. I also do not like seeing my fb feed clogged up with this guy's advertising. After I made the first post, he messages me and says that he can remove me, I ask him not to add me to things without asking first, I ask him to remove me, he says he can't until he gets home from the show. Basically, I have to deal with it until he gets time. I get a little bit grumpy, why should I have to deal with it when I didn't ask to be on it in the first place? I mean really, his posts are just advertising for his business, who is he to force me to look at it until HE gets time? Anyway, messages are exchanged, I'm grumpy about it all, he starts insulting me. I guess I'm not looking for anything here, just want people to know how he handled this, and what they may see in the future if they deal with him and might have a problem. I'll say again, I do not know this guy, he may be a saint for all I know, but I am very aggraveted with how he treated me in this, and think other people should know.

He did remove me, about 5 minutes after I said I would have fun with his business page until he did, which of course I didn't do. Nice to know that I would have had to just deal with it until HE had time, but he can get it done in 5 minutes when he thinks there might be some reprecussions to it.

At the time, I couldn't leave the group. I can't stand for someone to basically 'hold me hostage.' I also didn't appreciate his insults after I pointed out where he was wrong.

Sorry, just my honest opinion, but that's ridiculous.

I can't say, perhaps you're tired after that long shift and it's got you touchy, but maybe try sleeping on it and rereading things with fresh eyes once you're not so fired up. Things aren't usually as big a deal as they appeared the night before and when it comes to Facebook, things are rarely as big a deal as they seem period.

Check your facebook account. there are settings to make it so you cant be added to anything. Leaving a group can usually be done by phone, there would have been a clickable link at the top of the page saying "leave group"...

Of course I did. I use it to keep up with a lot of friends and also family. It also sends me a text when I get a notice, which is rather annoying to find out it's him advertising his business. Why is it unreasonable to demand for them to stop unwanted advertising? Why should I have to wait for him to have time to do it? He had plenty of time to sign me up for it. He was pretty quick when he thought there might be something negative coming to him, but he expects me to wait on him to stop his intrusive behavior?

Well, to be fair, I don't think he was the first one to get an attitude. You say you couldn't delete his posts or remove yourself from his group "at the time" because you were driving home from work and could only access FB with your phone? C'mon, man. You really think it's worth putting it on the BOI cause you were slightly inconvenienced from the time it takes to get from work to your home? I think you blew what's basically a non-issue way out of proportion. Think about how this is gonna make people look at you.

It's not unreasonable to ask him to remove you, ads can be real annoying if you're not interested. (Why the "demand" though? Right off the bat, you set the tone for everything. Honey or vinegar and all that jazz~) But threatening to mess up his business page during a show all because you have to wait a couple minutes for something trivial, especially when up until then that person had been very polite and said he'd change it as soon as he could, is very unreasonable in my opinion.

I think you went a tad overboard. It's crappy when you get added to a group that involves sales and I know it feels like your being spammed on your page but all you had to do is leave the group and if they sign you back up again, de-friend them for good. Your lucky it's just a sales group... I've had the displeasure of being added to a very controversial group that I completely disagree with, it was very embarrassing to even think someone might have seen me as a member. I promptly got out of the group and took her off my facebook page for good. She has tried to friend me back but I declined and have no intention of telling her why, if she cant figure it out on her own it shows how messed up she really is. Anyway being added to a sales group isn't a big deal, it could be a lot worse. My guess is...you have had a bad day at work, you just need to relax.
