In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Deon Collins/dnkreptiles (sic)/ D.C (sic)

i just got off the phone with deon and i have to apologize to scott.
the conversation where deon told scott about the het pieds and the jurassic being skinny was the follow up call after the sale.
so scott i am sorry for any inconvenience my replys have caused and i guess this is a perfect example of why third party posting can cause issues. again sorry.

I have a rainbow boa that I bought from Deon about 8 months ago at a local reptile show. She's doing very well (was sold to me as female) and I haven't had a problem with her. She eats like a pig. But, she's stayed rather small. So i'm wondering if she is in fact a she...

I don't have any plans to breed her... yet. But I was questioning her sex way before this thread was created. It just makes me wonder.

Regardless, I don't think Deon deserved a Bad Guy thread.

I guess we disagree on one point: I don't think it's OK to sell an animal, take the money, then change your mind and go back on the deal. It seems obvious to me that this is an unacceptable business practice.

All other points that have been brought up require me to have some kind of faith in him doing the right thing. He had already proved I couldn't trust him by that point... I would be stupid to try to work out another deal with somebody who had already proved themselves untrustworthy. It seems way too likely that if we worked out another deal, he would just change his mind about that too!

And yes, to an unscrupulous person every unproven ball is poss het pied or any other recessive gene, because it is possible that they carry the gene. Only the ones that are labeled with a percentage have a parent that was pied or het, and even then you need to be able to trust the person you get them from.

Just to point out, you DID another deal with him. You arranged for the milk snake instead of getting your money back AFTER the "untrustworthy" act.

I'm glad that the two of you worked this out.

To Adam:

No worries Adam, I know how emotions can get when a friend's rep is questioned. So don't sweat it. It was just a misunderstanding of the timeline between you and him, nothing more than that. Hopefully we can all get along now and go back to herping!

I've gotta say that i feel so much better now that things are worked out, and I am encouraged now that I feel I can trust all the people who have posted here.

Again, many thanks to the BOI and all who have posted!

Re: Deon Collins/ DNKreptiles

Sorry I havnt been able to post a reply yet. This is the first opportunity I have had to do so.
Adam called me yesterday and told me about this thread and the first thing I did was pick up my phone (I save all numbers to those I have sold too) and called Mr. Wright. When speaking with him I asked him what I could do to make this right for him but he didnt want me to do anything else for him and said he was appreciative of my call. As far as the 2 possible het pieds go they are animals I produced from a het to het pairing. There were no pieds in this clutch but the same parents produced 5 pieds for me last year.
I felt it was a good gesture to send the extra snakes being that I went back on the initial deal. I probably should have spoken to Scott first about the extra snakes but didnt feel it would be a bad thing to receive extra snakes for free. I have no idea as to why the snake is/was having runny stools. The snake never showed any signs of being sick or having a problems prior to it being shipped.
I do, however, want to thank Adam for telling me about this thread and keeping me updated throughout the day as to what was being said.
I am glad the situation was so easily resolved between myself and Scott and hope this hasnt inconvenienced anyone.
Thanks again,
Deon Collins

Im glad everything worked out!

Hello BOI... Just to add my 2 cents;) I know how it feels when a deal goes astray but it seems to be a lack of communication. It's very important especially when dealing with livestock to call immediately when not satisfied. I'm extremely glad everything was resolved at the end! I've dealt with Deon "DC" in the past and recieved an outstanding Pewter and the transaction was conducted in a professional manner! The reptile community is small and we must stick together!!!

Thanks

I'm really glad everything worked out. For the future though, always make sure it's okay to send extra animals. He would have been in trouble if he didn't have any space for them. It would suck to have to go out a buy things for animals he didn't ask for. JMO I love getting free animals, but only when asked if it's okay first.:) Great job on making things right.

Did you voice your issues with Deon?

I have dealt with Deon in the past and he was very professional, provided excellent customer service and the animal was properly shipped and was healthy.
Guy

Guy, in the future, it may be beneficial to read through the entirety of a BOI thread before posting... this one was resolved five days ago.

IMO sometimes people on the BOI let the "bad guy" or "accused" off to easy. Its pretty simple, selling a sick snake (nevermind incorrect sex) makes you a bad guy, and like Scott said if your first transaction with someone is a bad one then why give them a second chance? Fool me once, never buy from you again. This being said i'm glad it was worked out and I do not believe Deon to be a bad guy, but I 100% agree with Scott.
