In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Derek mayhew (Inked Dragons)

There was no price difference as far as I know, but they are still denying it's a different dragon even though there have been clear and obvious differences

The dragon that was received is not breeder quality. It is clearly not the one that she intended to buy but was assured it was the same dragon. At this point I would not ship it back either, "oops it showed up dead". No refund...

Thank you that was my exact concern. I even stated such to Julia the other day. I THINK the pictures attached

I ~like~ to believe that the vast majority of herp hobbyists and breeders are in it because they love the animals....
The pictures offered by the original poster....gross negligence...?

I am genuinely at a loss. In good conscious, I cannot possible advocate to the buyer that they should send the animal back, but choosing to keep the animal forfeits some expectation of being made whole (though in a better world -or at least one better to my own liking- it shouldn't be a factor at all).

So, I have to pose this to the buyer: What is your Best Case Scenario to reach a solution in this deal?

Oops, shouldn't have lied about something so easily proved - the photo with the hot hands! That's the problem with doing things in a subpar manner. It gets hard to keep track of your story...

There is no best case scenario. I don't even feel I could trust them to report it arriving safe and sound to receive my refund. This entire thing is to point out and prove a lot of the crap they pull and as a warning and just how far they will go to hide it or make themselves look better or try to shame the buyer into silence.

I would also like to say that Katie pencil had a horrendous experience before myself and I have tagged her to join when she can, but she is in the middle of a family medical crisis right now and her priorities are rightfully elsewhere.

While I appreciate your position and dilemma in regards to the safety of the animal, I still think it is only appropriate that you receive some concession in this deal. Regardless, this thread will continue to haunt the seller.

I can only speak for myself, but I believe that he should have the opportunity to make amends. As uncomfortable as that may be, you are an integral part of that possibility.

Resolution has to begin somewhere. Of course, the seller is always welcome to make the first overture...

The first step to making things right is admitting your mistakes. Derek is still adamantly denying he made any mistakes at all. Once he can admit to them he can start trying to make things better. Eleesha I think you should contact paypal and voice your fears to them and see what they suggest you do, ask what will happen if Derek lies and says it's not healthy. Also I'd share with paypal the info shared here and show that Derek admitted the dragon he sold you was misrepresented.

say what you want, you havent bought a dragon from us,those are ypour opinions not facts. you arent perfect either, you sent us a supposenly proven breeder but yet we had it for almost a year and has yet mated not to mention it arriving cold. markings was different as well so you didnt excatly send the right dragon either, but i can say it was a very colorful great genetic dragon and kept him, just didnt return to you and purchase more dragons from you. nor is this up for discussion, and what part dont you understand i upload the pic from paypal we agreed to fully reimburst for the dragon that includes shipping!!!!!!!!!!! yes it stated hypo trans, he has a see thru body and all charastistics of a trans except for the solid black eyes and was my wife was un aware of what a partial is and didnt correctly by accident misposting it, not knowing that both in the post and the dragon was a partial trans, and like we said she can send it back for a full refund. we did offer to fix the problem to simply return it for a full refund, so if she doesnt want to send it ,then theres nothing that can be done, no refund nothing. people make mistakes and no one is perfect. im done with this, she was offer a refund she refuses oh well like what can be done as long as she has our dragon i will not refund or ship out another dragon in order for anything we need to recieve ours back first. standard policy any where dealerships super markets etc.!!!!

Could you do me a solid? Hit enter every once in a while. Please. Reading bad grammar, spelling, and solid block of text is enough to give anyone a headache.

You will notice that since I don't really care about spelling or grammar, I really add a lot of enters into my typing?

Because it makes it easier for people to read and understand.

I need to address this "misposting" by a "non employee." Do you understand right there, regardless if you did send her the right animal or not, you just committed fraud?

You understand that you misrepresented the animal in question from the start. Even if you sent the right animal? You understand that there is nothing you can say or do that can fix this now? Except for sending her a shipping label and full refund.

Because even if she did get the right animal, it would have still been the wrong animal?

No one is perfect but good people, when they figure out they screwed up, do anything in the world to fix it. I would let her keep the animal and give her a full refund. Because I would never want to stress the animal by shipping it twice in one month and I would accept I completely screwed up. And I suspect that the animal in question is not worth the 50 bucks to send it back to me.

Some times, when I screw up, I have to pay for it. I would just chalk this up to bad deal all around.

As for you getting animals that don't breed. Not to be flippant here, but you can not even ship a reptile properly. I start to wonder about the whole system, when everyone knows you don't use hot hands for shipping.

since this post and her blog on facebook we have actually had more likes on our page and sent out 5 diffrent dragons so dont effect any, every business have complains including walmart but that doesnt mean they wont still get business. and she does have something to do with buisness, she handles them, she posts, ships out, feed them just as well as i do, just becuase its on my fb doesnt mean she isnt part owner of the business. and read the pic i upload from pay pal that clearly states FULL REFUND . jsu in case i will upload it agian clearly states everything that she needs to do and paypal with issue her the full refund!!!!

Here is what I got from your whole posting on this BOI.

I care more about what I want, how much money I am making, and how many animals I am selling then how much I care about my animals. It may not be true, but that is the point you are making.

We are talking about 150 dollars here. For an animal that looks subpar to me. Mr. Taylor already stated that it does not look like a breeder animal and I would agree.

Ms. Fisher is already out 50 dollars for shipping. You are asking her to ship it back to you for another 50 buck lost.

You are out way more then 150 bucks on this deal, because this will not go away. I personally would avoid you like the plague after reading this forum. You can not sell a breeder to another person and "misposting" what it is. Everyone that has ever bought from you now has to be worried about if they got a "misposting". I can not overstate this enough.

Does anyone know what the animal in the picture would sell for? Assuming it is remotely what he says it is.

To Ms. Fisher,

I am going to be honest with you. There is nothing you can do to fix this. If you ship it back, it will not be enough, if you keep it, it will not be enough. You got taken. Unless he is willing to send the shipping label with insurance on his dime, I would do nothing. You get scammed. Sorry.

Everyone that reads enough of these BOI knows the Charlie Sheen "winning" defence. Everyone knows that there is no winning for anyone after someone does the Charlie Sheen "winning" defence.

He is deflecting, when he refers to this. He purchased a male breeder of mine April 27th 2015 and now he is claiming the male TRANS that he got from me is not breeding. He also claims it was cold, I can look in my records and give the exact temperature it was shipped in.

Anyway since he brought it up, I just realized I never give him a faunaclassifieds user rating for that experience or the TWO transactions that followed that one. My business practices were SO bad the first time, he came back two more times.

I will learn from my mistakes!

I am quite aware that nothing done is going to fix the situation. I know I was scammed and that's why I went and did this. The dragon has finally started eating good but I can't ship him again so soon. I will sell him under pick up only terms. He is indeed hypo now that he will let me get anywhere near him to see his nails. He is yellow and PALE orange, in no way red or coral like his ad pics, partial trans though as they miss marked him for sale.

I did find a male coral red hypo trans, that is older and in better condition and he puts any of the dragons I've seen from inked dragons to shame. funny that the person Derek sent the sick dragon, Mrs. Katie pencil, produced him and I drove 5 hours to pick him up personally.
Unlike the dragon that inked supposedly advertised and sent, the dragon I bought from Katie at starset dragons looked exactly the one she advertised, was gorgeous even when he was still cold (picked up before the lights came on for the day) and his pictures did him no justice, he was even better looking in person, not to mention once the dragon was under lights and warmed up, he is completely stunning, which was after a full 19 hour trip after he was picked up with our trip to Omaha.
The picture attached is him after his bath before he warmed up the morning after I picked him up

See Derek, THIS is an exceptional dragon from someone who was EXCEPTIONAL with their contact and customer service. I would buy from her again, I wouldn't touch anything from you with a 10-foot-pole.

Also Derek, I love how you brought up that I was being rude, but you failed to say and show just how rude and disrespectful you and your wife were for HOW LONG before that. I TRIED to keep it nice and civil, YOU pushed me to that point.
I have a general rule. I don't have to like you or agree with you, but I will at least be civil, but I will only take so much from you before you are no longer entitled to such from me.

I will also post that the red dragon just posted NOT produced by Derek mayhew or his wife at inked dragons. He was produced by KATIE PENCIL, at starset dragons in IA

Eleesha, I appreciate your enthusiasm with respect to the transaction with another party that you may have found more satisfying, but I need you to keep this thread confined to dealings with Derek Mayhew / Inked Dragons. If you want to post experiences with another party, you can either find an existing BOI thread regarding that party and add to it or you can begin one anew in absence of an existing thread.
