In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dereks-Dragons (Derek Baisley)

I have posted those and will be afk for the remainder of the evening. I will be on tomorrow to address more but I will not allow this to be a downer of my entire weekend.

Jeez I think from now on im going to start videotaping me boxing them Up. She definitely looked nothing like that when packaged up. But then again 2 days in the mail with no food or water Idk. But again, she looks perfectly fine and healthy once you fed and watered her so that is obviously not a problem. She's in perfect health. You posted a pic that proved that. She's definitely a lot bigger than your saying and is closer to my posting, again you posted photo proof that backs me up on both of these... Enough said.

It's hard to tell from those vids if the folds of skin you are reacting to are the result of skinniness or dehydration. In a dragon that is super skinny you would be able to see their hip bones and the base of the tail would not be that thick. Also, as another poster mentioned the legs don't look skinny at all. Finally, she is big enough to breed. Because the rest of the dragon looks good, I would actually say that she is dehydrated and hungry from not having food for two days. You can't really estimate the age of that dragon either because how fast they grow depends on how much food you give them. If you feed them slow they could take a while to get big or you could feed them a lot and they'll get big fast.

Finally, you keep making this big deal about USPS. However, in one of the emails he actually tells you he is shipping USPS so you knew about it before he sent the dragon.

While I don't particularly care for USPS shipping, it is technically not illegal nor are their on-time rates much different than the other carriers.

I ship all through Usps unless asked to do otherwise. I do this to save the buyer some money because I I have come to notice that some peoole will refuse to buy something if the shipping costs are too high. Never had a problem before everything ive sent has lived with no problems. I have actually recieved A LOT of my reptiles through Usps as well. And never had a problem.

Has anybody tried to contact dachiu for me to confirm the age? Again my internet is down and my phones a pain, but I'm sure they will be able to confirm an age for her...

It's a bit refreshing to come across a BOI thread where both parties are willing to participate, explain themselves, and seem to be rational human beings.

I think this comes down to a difference of opinion, although there have been a few communication and shipping issues, also.

My personal opinion is that when an animal is CLEARLY misrepresented, the seller should eat the shipping so the buyer is out $0. If, however, the buyer would like to return something for other reasons, then they (buyer) should pay to return the item.

I think this case could be argued either way. In the end, Derek, you may find out that the hassle of this thread has cost more than $30 to you. I think I probably would have 'caved' on the shipping.....sometimes 'being right' isn't enough, and I think I'd be afraid that in a case where there was no clear-cut hijinks, I don't think I'd fall on my sword for $30.

It's not 30$. I would have to pay the 30$ it cost to shio the dragon to him, and he wants to ship her back via UPS which is alot more. So im down a lot more $ than some may think. Also i dont ry have much money at all, I'm 15 years old and going to be a junior in high-school lol. I just don't personally see how I should be out that much money when pretty much nkthing here was misrepresented. He was mostly going on about the size, which has obviously not been misrepresented she's clearly extremely close If not, at 16 inches. and it still bothers me that he tried to get 300$ plus the dragon in this deal... Something just seems wrong here

It is not my intention to crucify Derek here. We all make mistakes and are human. I am also not here to get something for nothing. I have purchased many dragons here at Fauna and have had no issue. I am just asking that Derek make it right. I will get better pics if you would like. I am internet savvy but not photoshop, video editing savvy. It is not my intention to get something for nothing.

I will admit that I was once in Dereks shoes. I came into the hobby had a huge love for reptiles and wanted to share my passion with others. The trick was that I was impatient. Just like anything else in the world, you get what you pay for. Sure you can get an animal for $125 but will the genetics be there? Will you be able to produce quality animals that folks will be able to enjoy? Not at that price..

I used to have great issue with Bloodbank, Corky Jordan, David Freeman, and many of the other quality breeders. I did not understand why they would charge so much to folks. After many months I did LOTS of research. Sure I could get animals that costs less than they offered. Were they quality? Absolutely not. You get what you pay for. Genetics, coloring and health.

Derek, I am asking that you please take a look at the mediocre folks in our hobby. While I am appreciative of the folks in this community, not many of them are the best of the best. I think you want what I want. That is to produce top quality animals for people to enjoy. This task is accomplished by first off investing in quality stock. This can not be compromised. All of the folks I listed above, I have made purchases from. I was convinced that they were scam artist in the beginning. After talking to those folks, the reason they are there is because they know their craft well. They don't breed to make a $. They breed because they love the hobby. They produce the best hands down.

Why in the hell have you been shipping via USPS? They are the WORST in shipping. They don't guarantee anything, especially shipping by 10am. I suggest you find a new way in shipping because that right there will lose you some buyers.

To Josh, Why didn't you insist on a different shipping method? That is a mistake on your part. :NoNo:

That's what ive been doing recently. Dropped actually a couple thousand on some breeders. All my own money I have to fund it all myself. I too have bought from a few of them. I've never seen them as rip offs, my first dragon.. is one of my most prized dragons. She's a red/orange translucent poss het hypo. Never bred her yet. She's a fat lil thing that I bought from Tom Clarke, an awesome breeder imo, and she went througj a stage wheree she was not really colourful. After about 2 months she colored up, shed a few times and now she's literally a nice bright almost neon Orange that even my camera before I lost it could not pick Up. But this is getting a little off topic lol id like to get this solved. Are you truely not happy with her? I mean shes extremely close to the size I stated, shebwill color Uo after she sheds, she's not sick or malnourished. She's a probable double het and a leatherback. Proven breeder. And on top of all this she may even lay a few clutches for you that you didn't have to pay for lol. I'm sure I told u already but she was bred to a hypo het trans leatherback. If she rele does lay more eggs which i think she should, you will make out like a bandit on those babies. Leathers and silks mostly,im sure your aware of that...

again, I receive alot through them and have had no problems. I tell the buyers who im shipping through so they can request a change if they'd like, but usps is cheaper for tge buyer and they guarantee by 12. 2 hour difference..

Did he know you are 15 If I know I’m dealing with a minor I want a parent involved if not you have no recourse.

Like I said I agree that I personally would not trust USPS. However, I brought up this exact subject in one of the other forums and was surprised that many people use USPS elusively (for non snake/turtle shipping). The way I read the attached image is that USPS does in fact guarantee by noon or 3 (depending on distance I assume) when delivered to the home and by 10 when it is held at the post office. So like I said, I don't use them but I think that there is this stigma associated with USPS that is perhaps unjust.

All of that said. IMO there was not a mis-representation of the dragon in this case. Even in the first video posted the dragon looks just like it does in the photos (other than being duller from shipping/shed cycle). I don't really think that there is anything that is due to the OP here.
