In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dereks-Dragons (Derek Baisley)

Alright so back to clear up some things.

First off, re-reading some my previous post, mediocre was a poor choice of words. It was not a statement that I was hoping people would read into. Perhaps the better choice would be professional and hobbyist? I do not breed other reptiles but I do browse those forums. It seems to me that each species has a few breeders that are the best of the best. I listed three breeders but that was not the end all be all of top breeders.

I know that people think I am in the wrong here but I would think if you were in my shoes you would also be less than pleased. Here is a side by side of the male I had purchased to breed her to. As you can see, there is a noticeable size difference. I don't think it would be possible for him to breed her. I will also be posting a side by side of a smaller breeder female.

Also for the record, I in no way shape or form intend to take the dragon and the $. That is not my style. I have been replying to Derek via text and will gladly post those here to if needed.

You certainly are "clearing" up a few things...

Regardless of what you are "saying," your actions are showing something else. IMO, you need to quit the Paypal claim and give Derek his money.

You have a dragon that you saw pictures of, the dragon is not misrepresented and you have his dragon. Dragging this out may mean YOU won't have a market on which to sell your dragons once people finish seeing what kind of customer YOU are and how it could translate if they were foolish enough to do business with you.

You, apparently, do not have a good grasp on REALITY.:NoNo:

Josh -
Again, this whole thread boils down to one question: Were you misled about this dragon? If so, Derek should pay return shipping. If not, you should pay the shipping.

Your recent posts have more of a 'this isn't what I was hoping for' flavor than your original posts which had more of a 'I've been scammed!' flavor. 'This isn't what I was hoping for' is pretty much the definition of buyer's remorse.

Enough people have chimed in that you weren't misled; at the same time, I have no doubt that you are disappointed with the dragon you received. So, ship her back to Derek (on your dime) and be done with it.

I would like to congratulate you two, again, for being civil and 'normal' throughout this thread. It is refreshing to see.

Also Anthony, I got a better measure of her. She is exactly 15".

Does this really help your case Josh? Me thinks - NOT!

I see in one of your earlier posts you have a toddler. Hopefully he/she is a nice healthy young 'un. I too have one of those. He was born 3 months premature at 2#, 3 oz. He had a brother about a year earlier who didn't make it. Those are problems, Josh. Getting a lizard in the mail that may or may not be the exact size YOU expected is NOT a problem.
BTW, I'm happy to report my little man is about 30# now, is doing well, has a couple of minor delays such as does not want to chew his food (probably from being intubated for 3 months in the NICU), but otherwise is doing great. And I did not mean to go off topic here, but was rather trying to show Josh here the big picture. Really dude, if getting an animal in that was just a little smaller or younger than I expected was a problem for me, I'd label myself 'well-blessed' in this world.
Now drop that stupid case with paypal, tell Derek you are sorry for starting a bad-guy thread on him, and come in for a group-hug - ya big lug! Oh, but change those pants first please, I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression here...

I will attempt to explain why I am hung up on the 1". While it is not huge length by any means, it is not like her tail would be the only thing that would grow. She would fill out more overall as well.

Maybe I am way off base here but in all the research I have done, females should be 17" and 300g before attempting to breed. Unless something has changed the risk for egg binding in early breeding is high.

I will attempt to get yet another photo that shows she is 15"

:deadhorse, you don't have a leg to stand on here, he CLEARLY states in the third post in his classifieds that she was 275 g and AROUND 16" (quoted below). So yeah, you are hung up on 1" when the add and his responses clearly spell out the dragons approximate size and age.

not 100% sure my scale is broken but last time i knew she was 275. shes on the smaller side around 16-17 inches and a year old.

You also clearly wanted to have the dragon and the money too! You asked for a >75% refund!!!!????:shrug01:

You are not making a good impression here in my opinion.

Well Deborah, I guess I am looking for a utopian market that doesn't exist. A market where folks are honest and customer service matters. Where facts are facts and not approximations.

Anthony,

While I get the point you are trying to make here, the BOI is not a place where people go to start "bad guy" threads for their lifes problems. I didn't say that this was the end of the world and that my wife and kids are in peril due to this situation.

I will be shipping the dragon back to Derek. I will however be using UPS overnight. I will be posting box up videos and drop off videos.

he CLEARLY states in the third post in his classifieds that she was 275 g

Actually, he did not state her actual current weight. He had said that he was unsure (on weight) but that, last time he knew of, she had weighed 275 (I believe this weight was told, to Derek, by previous owner).

Yet...YOU read those "approximations" in the ad and accepted them. :shrug01:

To me it would be like buying a used car with photos only. Asking about the mileage and condition of the car as well as what year it is. Being shown a picture of the car when it was originally purchased brand new on the lot and told it has about 100k miles on it. When you get the car, it is missing a wheel and has some rear end damage and has 175k miles on it. Finding out that the car is a 97 and not an 07.

Josh, Josh, Josh... nor did I say those things. You are missing the forrest through the trees MF (stands for My Friend). If not mistaken, I think the BOI is here to resolve problems that could not be resolved otherwise. You asked for the public opinion, and so it is time to take a count. How many people here supported you and how many supported Derek? Looks to me like you didn't lose, to be politically correct, but you came in second...
I'm a semi old-guy to most, but I'll leave you guessing my age (also have an 18 y.o. son who doesn't talk to me - surprise), so take it from me when I tell you this: you can't win all of your arguments, and it is good to start practicing young which battles you are going to initiate, and which ones will be a waste of time. This one was one of the latter.
Then again, it's your grave.

No! Don't do it! Don't implode now, Josh! You were doing so well.....right up until about post #94. Are you going to go down in flames, claiming you are on the side of righteousness, or come back to the real world and tone down the 'holier than thou' crap? Walden didn't work out, remember??

Glad to see Derek get animal back. Josh, sometimes you get more than you expect, sometimes less. Derek seems like a smart young man and I bet he learned a thing or two so in the long run it isn't a total loss.

Josh, even you couldn't measured the dragon correctly! In your first post you said you measured her and she was 14.5! now your saying she's 15 inches. You seem very anal.

Except that in your case it's more like the car was covered in dust, has about 80k miles and is an 08(you're claiming she's too young, after all), and the interior needs vacuuming.

The lizard is NOT underweight for herself. Her tail and legs are plump. She appears easily over 15 inches, which is close to the 16-17" approximation. Unless you stick her next to a plain ruler and nudge her head and tail down, none of your photos are going to show proof of length.

Actually, he did not state her actual current weight. He had said that he was unsure (on weight) but that, last time he knew of, she had weighed 275 (I believe this weight was told, to Derek, by previous owner).

Yes sorry, that is correct, but the point still stands.

Anyway, the point is moot as the two have come to an agreeable solution.

Your comparision is not appropriate for the situation. You are giving an example of how one would compare HUGE differences...it's Apples to oranges. A more realistic comparision would be "if the car had 101K miles on it and otherwise was as described except for a low gas tank" :dgrin:

Your description...just proves your lack of a firm grasp on reality.

You have made the "Do not buy from or sell to list." :ack2:
