• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I was wondering if I could get someone to clear something up for me. I bought a DH Sunglow male for my girlfriend, and what my question is, is DH sunglow the right terminology or would it be het hypo albino? what is the difference?

I'm no genetics expert but here is my 2 cents...

Het. is short for Hetrozygous, meaning that it carries a gene for something even though it is not physically visible. I would think Double het would mean 2 recessive genes but I believe hypo is co-dominant. In this case think it would be labeled a hypo het albino.

That would mean if you bred it to normal female you would get normals, hypos, hypos possible het albino, & possible het albinos. If you bred him to an albino you would get het albinos, hypos het albino, albinos, & sunglows.

Again I'm no expert & I'm sure others with more knowledge then me will jump but hopefully that helped a little & didn't make it more confusing on you.
 
The term dh sunglow is correct as long as your boa is not a super hypo. Het is not linked to recessive it just means it carries one allele. You might be confusing it with phenotype which is what is visually expressed (dominant,recessive)

maybe I am confused then but if het is not linked to only recessive genes then your saying hypo (co-dominant) can be het right? I didn't think you could have a boa that is het hypo?
