In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

DHL Lousy Carrier

Monitors are like garbage disposals... they'll eat anything and in any condition, LOL

Dang, John, sorry to hear that DHL did that to you. I know Kevin and Kelli are real busy right now. Poor Dean was late coming to my pickup point even though there was a big sign that said "Smith's order to be picked up today!" heh I'm sure they'll get back to you as soon as they get a moment. Their good people.

AIR SHIPMENTS

FYI.....DHL is a chinese owned company,i choose brown or fedex for all air or ground shipments.have fun!

Had horror stories with all shippers. And some good ones.

They all have stuck it to me at least once. The only thing i dont like about DHL is the fact if you live in an apartment they wont walk up to your door.I found my last delivery was delivered without me even knowing it.I checked on the shipping number and found it downstairs sitting upside down by all the mail boxes.I one time caught a fed ex driver shaking the living crap out of my box because he could feel movement.I tore him a new azzhole.
Sure wish more people here would have signed that petition.

Every shiper has issues with people, weather, mechanical breakdown and the occaisonal deer/racoon.That being said,

Airborne/DHL is the best at:

1.Delivering a 10:30 Express package no later than 4pm.
2.Pointing the "this side up arrow"down.Afterall, thats the direction of hell.
3.Billing the "special handling fee" for anything marked"live harmless animal"

Look,Airborne/DHL is not the best, they just suck less than the rest.

I have had only 1 experience with dhl, and the shipper told me by 300 pm, the dhl website said by 1030 am, and the dhl phone customer service told me by 1200 pm. The only one that was correct was the shipper since it arrived at 130 in a dirty small van with 2 guys so crammed in there with boxes even in on the dash board. The snake arrived alive, but stressed. I dont see ups or fed ex getting worried like the commerical shows. I think they may even be laughing!

DHL is a joke...

DHL is a joke!! From the commercials they air, they want you to believe that they're the biggest thing going. Well, maybe in Europe (by the way, I believe DHL is a German owned company, not Mexican...or what ever else a previous person said). I work for UPS....we OWN our own airplanes and airline (so does FedEx), so we don't have to depend on another airline moving the boxes for us. I've been ordering a bunch of baby snakes lately (tis the season...lol) and UPS has been the earliest for deliveries...before 10am!! FedEx is good also, but doesn't get to my house till after 10:30am. I got a DHL shipment ONCE.....came at 1pm....and yeah, the delivery guy was just kinda tossing the package around! When I opened the box, the 6 ball pythons inside were in good condition but pissed as Hell for the bumpy ride...lol! So far...so good...I don't have any horror stories to report about any of the carriers......yet. But, I'd rather use UPS or FedEx. They are MUCH better run companies than DHL. Just my opinion.....

DHL SUCKS!!!

OK, I placed a mealworm order on Sunday. Monday my order was shipped out 2 day air via DHL. When it did not arrive yesterday, wednesday, I looked it up online. It said a delivery attempt was made at 10:20AM wednesday. OK, I was home all day, as I was expecting several different deliveries, all of which arrived fine, except DHL. Well, I decided to call them today, because there was no notice left on my door, as most carriers leave if you miss them. Well, as I went to the phone to place my call, it rang. It was there office calling me. They never made the delivery attempt yesterday. As the lady on the phone put it, "The driver could not find your house, even your street." and went on to verify my address. Everything was correct. I had to give her directions from the closest major intersection. Ok, come on. I do not live in the country, I live in the city, right in the middle of a neighborhood. No other carriers have had any trouble finding my house. Hell, even Dominos knows how to get here. :D Anyone with a mapsco can find my address. Anyone with mapquest can find me. Even yahoo maps will get you here. You would think that a driver that makes a living driving would know how to use a map and find their customers. Well, this is my last time using DHL. Luckily this was only a worm order and not a BP morph worth thousands, as it would have surely perished in the cold night temps. The heat pack would have already run out and the poor thing would have died, all do to the fact that DHL can't read maps!!! :bandhead0 Anyways, I will spend the extra cash to ship with UPS or Fed Ex from now on. Atleast they have a nice track record with me for ontime deliveries. All I can say to DHL is :bleep:

i agree with you guys DHL does suck. i have had 2 computer cases that went through them both times they had came out dented or broke. i know the company who i had ordered through before they switched to dhl for shipping wasnt doing this. so i would assume its dhl slamming box's or tossing them. if they are this rough with computer cases upto 30 lbs, i would hate to see how they treat a 1-5lb package......

I read somewhere recently "Most shipping companies do a pretty good job, it's that last mile that matters".

With that in mind, as many if not all of FaunaClassified's users would probably agree, you must train you delivery people or simply avoid them.

Most people seem to prefer FedEx and UPS for most over nights while many people like Delta Dash for large/expensive orders when it comes to reptiles.

Bugs seem to go through USPS.

DHL is just scary as many of my friends that work for both FedEx and UPS have told me that they have seen a lot of people who use to work for their companies. Basically you have 3 types of people working for DHL: New, Ex-Fedex & Ex-UPS Good Employees looking for greener pastures and then you have Ex-FedEx & Ex-UPS Employees that left or were fired because they SUCKED at their job. Its the last group that makes it so scary.

A great example of the last mile:
My USPS is lick clock work showing up at my door step everyday by 9:30am

UPS suprises me all the time showing up way before 8am on 10:30 am drops, all the time. (It did take a one time SCREAM when the guy threw a box of two Panther Chameleons on its side under his arm as he jumped off the truck like it was nothing, that had massive labels all over it stating "LIVE ANIMALS"x2 "HARMLESS"x2 "CHAMELEONS"x1 "FRAGILE"x8 "THIS SIDE UP (with arrows)"x4 Needless to say I think he is afraid of me now. I guess that is what is meant by training (military style).

FedEx (The company I use to trust with all my important stuff) has consitantly damaged packages, holes in my boxes and when it comes to AM drops they either show up really late or simply no show and list my address as "Incorrect" even though I have resorted to large Gold Numbers on my house which is 20 feet from the curb.

DHL...I have not tried, nor do I plan on trying them for anything unless I want it lost or released in to never never land.

If you find a good supplier of a product and they prefer to use a shipper that you have serious issue with, explain your issue and ask if they could use another. Most companies/people will, especially if you have no problem with any additional fees.

We Live...We Learn.
Good Luck

The Saga continues!!!!!

Oh my god, I am going to lose it on DHL. Well, after the phone call I got today at 8:05 AM saying the driver could not find our house yesterday, I was told it would be here today. Well, 3:00PM came and still no order. At 8:33 AM, the online tracking said "with courier". Well, when I checked it at 3, it said scheduled for redelivery. I called the office and spoke with the same lady I spoke with earlier. (It is always good to get their name the first time you speak with them!!!) When I told her what was going on, she looked it up. Her exact words were, "Oh man, why are our guys soo stupid." She informed me that the package was still sitting at their office, and was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Before I could begin going off, she asked me to hold. A short minute later she came back on the line and told me that the supervisor was bringing it out himself and it would be here within the hour. Well, at 4:30 he finally showed up. No appologies, nothing but a disgusted look on his face, like I was putting him out by asking for my package to be delivered. It took everything I had in me not to hit him. If anyone out there is using DHL as their shipper, I urge you to reconsider. I will never use them again, nor will I order from anyone that ships with them. Like I said in my other post, I would rather pay a higher price to ensure quality service. PLEASE BOYCOTT DHL. THEIR SERVICE SUCKS!!!!! :hot:

DHL delivered $3500 worth of MY computer parts to a bike store down the street. Apparantly, the driver assumed that since that was his normal drop on S. Beltline Blvd, that MY packages MUST have been going there......... I will never ever ever use any company that uses them again. I have since dealt with companies that use DHL, but have explicitly specified that if they want my money, they will send with either UPS or FEDEX. I've also had DHL leave a "signature required" package containing live fish in 15 degree weather on my front doorstep, without even bothering to ring the doorbell. These separate incidents occurred in different states, separated by 1000 miles. Avoid them like the plague.

Yep,today they left my snake delivery on the front stoop despite a large note on the door to them to ring the bell loudly. Luckily it was shaded and I went out to walk the dog.....

DHL recently delivered a package ("live harmless reptiles"), left it at the front door, on a 45 degree day, in the pouring rain. it took a bit to get the point across that I was here waiting for the package, and the driver had left it at somebody else's house (in a nearby town). once they finally grasped that concept, it took 2 1/2 hrs for them to get the box to me.

Well they really screwed the pooch with me last week. They sent my DH ghost from the breeder to the hub in OH..(im in WV) then sent it to freakin AZ.. Then back to OH and then to me... It was a day late and the poor boa was dead...Awsome looking snake.. IM outraged! Iwill never deal with a breeder that ships with them again!

Everybody all has such horrible shipping stories, I've never had any of those problems with USPS Priority!!! I feel sorry for all of you people that lost animals through those companies that hire stupid employees.

Michael

You can't 'LEGALLY" ship snakes via USPS. Doing so and getting caught is a Federal Offense. Not to mention it will give the rest of the community a black eye just to save a buck. I would not suggest shipping snakes via USPS.
