    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

All of the hatchlings from my dinker normal female X pastel hatched yesterday and got some interesting results. Out of the 4 eggs, 4 hatched and all 4 turned out male. 2 unique pastels and 2 interesting normals. I'm not sure if there is something genetic with it or if it is just the mothers a nice normal and it influenced the babies. The one pastel has a busy pattern with a granitey look on the sides. The other pastel is reduced. They both seem to have more blushing and more flames up their sides than the other pastels I hatched this year. Let me know what you think of them.
Thanks for looking

Thanks for the replies. I'm still not sure of them though, so I think I might just hold back at least the busier pattern baby.

Dan, nice looking kids. The normal in the pic looks like it will have the head coloration of mom to me. The pastel babies on the other hand are pretty, but, look very similar to several pastels I have hatched over the years. All you can do though is hold back and see what happens, but, I would not say they are rare.

Yeah, I thought the same of the normals head coloration and the mom's when I hatched him out too. We'll see what they look like after first shed to see what happens to the color. I'm just wondering now if I should keep them all back and breed them out or just one or two.

what does mom's belly look like, and do any of the offspring share that trait? the reason I ask is because I have a similar female that shares that trait with her offspring this season. I am hoping to produce a super from them this next season if one of the little ones is ready by late season next year to breed back to her.

The belly of my female is just a little more clear than other normals with the black on the sides being a light brown. Other things I've noticed is the darker black eyes on some of the babies and the female. Even one of the pastel has blacker eyes than usual compared to the normal greenish eyes. Another thing is that the female sheds nearly clear sheds. I think I'm going to keep them and see what happens.

you can't cut out of a dinker project halfway through so I say keep them breed a male back to mom preferably one of the normals to see if there is either recessive genes at work or to see if there is a super form and then go from there. If nothing comes of putting a male to mom then you know it was a bust and she will make a really nice normal breeder.
