In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Hi all! I'm fairly new to the herp world. I have 1 Amel corn, believed to be female. She is somewhere around 15 inches long. A real sweetie. I got her from people who are going around taking free or really cheap animals and reselling them for more. I did not know that was what they were doing until I traded a ferret for this "rare hard to find" corn. Can ya tell I did not know any better about colors? I have since seen they (Amels) average $45. They got a $150 3 month old ferret, a $45 cage, a $75 ex-pen, 2 hammocks worth about $35, food and toys. Somewhere around $250-300 worth all together.

Anyway, ya live ya learn right? I am hoping I will not find myself getting ripped off like that here. Believe me I have people I can go to now to check if I am being asked too much for a snake or if I found a great deal. :reddevil:

Nah, I was told that everyone over here are good peoples. So I am not worried.

I look forward to meeting everybody!

Welcome - sorry you got burnt before checking the ads here or checking the BOI. Hard lesson learned, but you sound like you learn fast!

Thanks everyone. Yeah I learn really fast. So fast that I just received ownership of an abused Sand Boa. Free. He/she (gender unknown) was supposedly stolen from a petshop, and was being fed crickets in a VERY cold tank full of rocks and debri with very little sand. I've got a heating pad under his tank (its all I have right now) and am slowly clearing out the junk from his sand. I read that he should be eating mice. If anyone has a fave site about sand boas I really want to know what I am doing to save him.

Well, I was going to suggest you check out the 'rosy, sand...' boa discussion forum, but there doesn't seem to be a lot going on over there.
I would suggest considering a possible vet trip.
A google search should turn up something.
