    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all, I have been seriously considering breeding various types of tree frogs but I was told that I need a permit to do so. Is this true? I live in southwest Florida by the way and I did check out Florida Fish and Game website but it's not very clear to me since it only says that frogs for personal possession as long as no other Rule or Statute applies do not require a permit but does not say anything about BREEDING and SELLING them and if this would still require a permit. If anyone can help on this subject it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I suppose the answer depends on what type of tree frog you are referring to. Is this a regulated endemic tree frog? Have you researched local laws and regulations?

I am not a Floridian so I cannot speak to the laws and regulations enforced in Florida. Perhaps begin with the species you are hoping to breed.

I lived in FL for 7 years while getting my graduate degree and often vended the west coast shows with friends. You will need to get a class 3 permit to sell/display your animals in FL. I have seen wildlife officers give tickets out to people vending at shows that don't have the permit.

Hope this helps.
