    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If some of you are wondering why you aren't getting replies to your emails when sent though this site, PLEASE pay attention and actually READ those email notices sent to you. They are only NOTICES and not a method to be used as correspondence with the person you are trying to converse with. They are notices to let you know that either you have gotten a PM or that someone may have replied to a thread you are subscribed to (perhaps a classified ad, for instance.

Those notices will PLAINLY show

As long as you mentioned emails - am I just not seeing the email option for contacting people, or has it been removed?

About a dozen. And increasing......... I used to reply to them to let the people know, but that got old REAL FAST. So I just delete them now. I guess they'll figure it out sooner or later.

I don't see it in the options. and a lot of ads say no PM's please send e-mail. but we have no choice but to PM them.
 
Well, those people SHOULD be including an email address in the ad...or they don't deserve to be contacted, lol.

Hmm, interesting.... I checked the options and emails was turned OFF. Wonder if I did that to try to block the ton of bounced emails I was getting? :shrug01: I have still been getting those bounced emails, so I'm not sure what that option actually did. Anyway, I re-enabled it.

Please make certain that your email address is still valid, however. It seems that quite a few people will create an email address at yahoo or hotmail, and then after registered, just allow that email address to lapse. So if you are away for a while and forget your password, you are just SOL, I'm afraid. The system needs a valid email address in order to reset your password for you so you can log in. I cannot recover your password for you.

BTW, and account with an invalid email address is subject to being blocked from the site. So please stay on top of email changes...
 
The emailing option and instant messaging info are back (I knew there was something else missing, but wasn't sure what).

I guess I need to bring this back up again....

Getting quite a few people simply replying to those notices. So then they wonder why the recipient does not reply to them. Well that recipient is ME, and in most cases I just delete them.

That notice stating

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL!

REALLY does mean what it says..... :rolleyes:
