In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all,

Just a warning!

Natrix natrix dies if you use PAM as directed. Not my first rodeo, used it plenty of times successfully before, but it only took 12 hours to go from eating out of my hand to dead for this species. I will continue to use the product, just not on Natrix. I guess someone had to learn the hard way. Very bummed. They didn't even have mites =(

Eastern Hognose are the same. Get it near them and it's over. Not sure about other members of the family.

Wow really? I had only heard rumors about tree boas / pythons having issues.

Good information, thanks!

I used it with Madagascar tree boas without issues.
I sprayed it on paper towels, let them dry overnight and put them under an untreated layer of paper towels as a substrate. I wanted to avoid direct contact with the snakes (they were small at the time).

Eastern Hognose are the same. Get it near them and it's over. Not sure about other members of the family.

I have used PAM as a preventative measure for an incoming shipment of Western Hognose youngsters. All animals tolerated the treatment very well and have been thriving for some time now.
Not sure why it would affect Easterns and not Westerns, but when dealing with PAM it seems following the instructions to the letter goes a long way in preventing an unfortunate outcome.

I've had to use it on an adult chondro and didn't have issues as well. I wouldn't use it with babies, though.

It's the same with North American Nerodia and Thamnophis. I found out that the hard way a few years ago, and wound up killing several Water Snakes and a big female Ribbon, but I've never had a problem using this product on other Colubrids or any Boids.
