In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I went to pull out my one-and-only chocolate cream pie recipe tonight and it's GONE! I make the same pie for Christmas (and ONLY on Christmas) every year, and I'm without a recipe. I've looked through every other cookbook on the shelf, thinking I might have stuck it in the wrong one last year, but it's nowhere to be found. I literally emptied the bookcase.

*sigh*

I think I remember all the ingredients, but I'm sure I don't remember the measurements. Looks like I may have to wing it and maybe get a cheesecake back up in case I screw it up royally. This may be the end of an era :shrug01:

If you know the name of the recipe, you can surely find it on the web. My wife temporarily lost one, and I was able to find it for her online.

It was a handwritten recipe for "Chocolate Cream Pie"....LOL....I'm sure there's a recipe online for it, and I may spend some time going through the many that are there....I should at least be able to recognize one that comes close.

(Still going to buy a cheesecake just in case)

Sounds good to me.

I always love when a family has holiday traditions. And it's even better when it does not involve jail time after a drunken brawl. :shrug01:

Found It!!!

Those rascally Christmas elves took mercy on me!

It takes a long time to make, but if you're interested in the best chocolate cream pie ever:

1 cup softened butter

1 ½ cups sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate

5 eggs

Melt and cool the chocolate. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy, add vanilla. Mix in chocolate. Add one egg at a time. Beat for 5 minutes on high between each egg.

Spoon mixture into a pre-baked pie shell. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Top with Cool whip.

I gave up those traditions in the 70's :)
Do mean your 70's or the 1970's? :reddevil:

Seriously it looks positively yummy. I may just have to give it a try.

Terese,
I made the pie and it was fabulous. I only did one thing different, used a Graham Cracker crust. This is going in my file for sure, then next year when I cant find it. I can just search Fauna.
