• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I've been snakes, mainly keeping boas and milksnakes, for about 8-9 years. I find my boas tend to seem to enjoy being handled more, more calm. But my milksnakes seem to have a much higher metabolism and more curious overall. But at times I feel my boas look at me in the face curiously. Just wanted others opinions on what You feel about boas intelligence vs other snakes. Be interesting subject. My yearling black milksnakes don't like my young boys 5 and 9 years old but are very content with me and my wife but they have never bit them. I know they can tell me and my wife from them for sure. What are your thoughts? Experiences? Opinions? Some one asked me what I thought was smarter and I honestly don't know. Both are so different.
 
I often wonder the same things myself when handling my boas. I've never owned a colubrid but I have had a ball python. I think boas ARE more intelligent than most snake species but I wouldn't anthropomorphize them and hold their higher intelligence in human terms.

They are more curious. They are more cunning. They don't love us or even necessarily 'like' us. They tolerate us. I think my boas are more interested in my holding them because they get to explore outside of their cage than anything.

I hate to sound negative but they aren't people.
 
I agree for the most part. They only like or tolerate holding to be out of their enclosure. But i have had rare individuals approach my hand on a regular bases as i opened their enclosures while some never enjoy being held just tolerate it. ive had one boa content to sit or lay on me while i watched a movie on a regular basses, once i fell asleep doing this and woke up a couple hours later to find him chilling probably for body heat more than anything. But i think any colubrid would have been long gone for sure.
