    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is pretty much what I believed to be the issue as well. I also think that on top of the very light feeding schedule he also hibernates his babies. I know there are some breeders that do it and have no issues but if you are already keeping your babies on a extreme maintance diet then you are just spelling doom for them.

So, if this had happened to puppies or horses, he'd be facing fines or possibly prison. But since it's just snakes he's free to carry on as if it never happened, and to prey on innocent victims who won't hear of BOI until it's too late. You don't accidentally starve hundreds of baby snakes to death. You do it intentionally.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. If this was puppies, and someone called the media, they'd be all over this guy.
 
I guess the sooner my baby gets to me the better for the baby, huh? It IS good to know that it wasn't anything that could spread to other snakes!

Actually they are living creatures in captive care so it would still fall under animal abuse and neglect laws. The only difference is there is no one local that is complaining. The way animal abuse laws are now the species is not of a concern to anyone.

He would be facing felony charges! Perhaps authorities need to be called is his city to check out the conditions of the other animals.

But you don't know that. You know one dead baby appeared to have died of starvation. Any and all new animals need to be quarantined for a minimum of three months no matter who you got them from. You need to treat all new animals as if they have a contagious disease until time or testing makes it unlikely that they do not. Even when they join the collection you must still make a concerted effort to not pass germs between seemingly healthy snakes. Forever.
 
I only meant he'll definitely get fed every 5 days until he gets some size to him then it'll be once a week.
 
I asked a question on a different thread and was told the answer is here but I can not find the answer. The question is to Doc.

I got a question for Doc. How often were you feeding the hatchlings? Every 7 days, 10 days, 14days, 21days, never?
 
Here you go. This is were he "explains" how he feeds. So basically some snake were going on a every 14 day schedule or I guess never at all if they didn't eat when offered.

I never thought of the legal actions that could happen to him or anyone that is found mistreating snakes. Just not something you ever think about or hear about when dealing with snakes. The sad thing is as much as it would be nice to have officer or what ever check out his collection we really dont need anymore negative press in the snake world right now. Things are already messed up for us especially here in FL.

Just in general, I don't agree with giving those that mistreat animals a pass and just hushing the matter up because any resulting press might hurt the snake world rep. That was the kind of thinking used at Penn State.
 
If (If) this is a case of being simply overwhelmed by too many snakes/not enough time the answer for Mr Walker is simple. STOP breeding more than you take care off. Most of us have jobs, families, etc. and let me tell you, 4 clutches of corns is time consuming when you have to deal with Life in general, let alone several...

My advice (FWIW and again, if underfeeding IS the issue) would be for Doc next year to breed only some pairs of snakes that people have had issues with and offer them free of charge for those folks. Do the right thing. Several of us are local to Baltimore; I'm sure someone would be willing to assist, give advice, whatever to help rectify an ugly situation...
