In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does Anerythristic x Amelanistic = Snow?

Currently I have a male and female amelanistic pacific gopher snake breeding pair.
I was just wondering - if I stumbled upon an anerythristic pacific gopher (Haven't yet, but I have seen anery Sonorans & San Deigos if that works...?) and bred them with one of my amels I would get normal looking snakes who are het for both genes right?
-Then if I breed a pair of those together, would I get snows then?
About what percentage of that clutch would be what? EX What percentage would be snows.
Also what would they be /exactly/ like what would they be het for, what would their full label be?

I'm curious, this is just a thought. A dream project if you will~

BTW If I did produce snow pacifics, about how much would they sell for?
The only reason I ask is because my friend told me a long project like that wouldn't be worth it because pits aren't popular. (Can't you hear me crying at that?) Do you think he has a point there? I'm not trying to make money, but it always helps to break even.

THANKS!

yes an anery x amel make a "snow"

yes, breeding and amel to an anery wont make the snow. you'll make normals double het amel and anery. when you breed the double hets together then you'll have a chance at producing the snow. aprox 1/16 would be the snow.

breakdown would be this:

1/16 snow
2/16 anery het amel
2/16 amel het anery
1/16 amel
1/16 anery
4/16 double het
2/16 het amel
2/16 het anery
1/16 normal.

And btw when breeding hets together all the het babies will be 66% het for snow, meaning that they will have a 66% chance of carrying each gene. So u would get amels 66% poss het anery, anerys 66% het amel, and normals 66% het for both. And then of course ur visual snows.

Using Anery Sonorans and San Diegos would result in mutts, if bred to your Pacifics. Keep the breeding between what you have, IMO. To my knowledge, people into pits DO NOT like or care for crosses/subspecies crosses, generally.

A friend of mine has hatched out snow pacifics, and he sold/sells them for around $75 or maybe a little more, from what I remember.

I fully agree!,........making man-made mutts won't be doing the hobby any good at all. They can NEVER be taken back once they are produced and scattered out into the hobby.....period!! People have to ask themselves......."what will all these snakes be producing from now on?".................well, the answer is simply this.......more man-made mutts by the thousands quite literally is what they will make. Never again can any of them be called any specific type. Also, countless people will get these and think they may have a genuine "whatever", and they will also make countless more when bred to who knows what. It is MUCH better to keep a certain subspecies bred to a certain subspecies. Crosses are nothing but a silly fad that far too many seem to get caught up in. :shrug01:

If this sounds crass and blunt, it's because it's as true as the sun rises tomorrow....simple as that. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
