    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Does this look like an ovulation?

Havn't seen any scale seperation but the midsection looks a little big doesnt it? I'm not too experianced yet but this looks like it might be it, I've been breeding her for quite some time now and this is the first sign of anything I've seen. I attached a few pics of the pair, I dont think hes axanthic but I'm trying to prove out whatever is going on with that color. :thumbsup:

It IS hard to tell in that pic, but I wouldn't solely base it upon whether or not it grows. It could be the END of ovulation, too. Of the few girls that I was able to witness full ovulation (out of 18 clutches), it never lasted more than 36-48 hours TOPS (again, based on what I actually witnessed).

Watch her for the next week or so and see if she starts turning the lower 2/3 of her body, wrapping her water bowl and refusing to eat. None of those mean anything definite, but they are all good signs!!! Good luck and keep us posted!!

The only thing with that is that she was locked with the male last night and this morning, so if anything I think it would be the begining :shrug01:

If they were still locked, I would NOT separate them! Granted, I ended up leaving 2 different males with 2 different females until each female laid her eggs, but I made sure that he got the job done!! LOL I guess I took Deb's approach and didn't want to assume the best. I preferred to "make sure". Might not have been the most scientific approach, but out of 20 girls bred, I'm ending up with 18, possibly 19 (still a chance on # 19!!) clutches....hence my advice to leave them together until you are SURE!!

I have no clue, I won't have anything breeding until probably next season.. I might crack and buy a big female so I can breed this upcoming one instead of waiting though, patience is a virtue I never received :p But anyways, I hope it is, and good luck!

We sometimes forget that typically when the female is ovulating or gravid..she no longer locks with the male (she avoids him). :)

Hes been in there for 12 hours now and I've watched them pretty closley, I saw the male try and tickle her a few times and the female will just move her tail to the other end of the tub...:shrug01:

This was a picture of the pair taken at 12:42 this afternoon, the male is in the back left corner of the cage, as you can see, the female doesnt want much to do with him.

She's probably building, just keep an eye out for ovulation. My female was swollen and building for 2 weeks before she finally ovulated :)

Just a quick update, she doesnt look like shes swelling anymore but she does look "raised" as in she is sitting on her ventrail scales only instead of the ventrals and the surrownding scales, does anybody know what that could mean?

YAY!

I must have missed the ovulation because I opened her tub about 5 minutes ago and saw this. I've heard that its a tell tale sign of her being gravid, am I right? And to back it up shes HUGE! :D Sorry for the blurry pics, my hands were shaking in the excitment! :rofl:
