Oh damn, I bought some Dolby Atmos music disks off of Amazon last week. Limited number of albums available, and only one that I already had on CD music disk. Finally came in a couple of days ago. Played one of them yesterday when it started raining and I was stuck inside anyway. Then played the same album done in regular CD music to compare them. Damn. Big mistake. WORLD of difference on my home theater system with a Denon receiver with 11.2 speaker setup. The CD music version sounds way too flat and lifeless now. Kind of like the difference between watching a movie on VCR tape on a 26 inch tube monitor and then in 4K on a 72 inch flat screen. Double damn.... Now I have to scour the internet looking for Dolby Atmos versions of music albums I like to listen to. Another fine mess I have gotten myself into.....LOL!!
But I have to admit that the very low frequencies seemed somewhat weaker in the Dolby Atmos version. Might just be that one disk, as I haven't tried others. So something I need to check out further when the next rain storm comes through. But if I need to pump up the low frequencies on the subwoofers (I am using 4 of them) I certainly have the ability to do that. I had to crank it DOWN nearly to the lowest power settings when I set it all up.
