Jessica, I admit it. I'm young. I can be impulsive and irrational at times, and I say that with full truth. My claims were proven wrong due to the following: the snake is not actually an intergrade as proven by Ed, Snakes at Sunset and Mike had no control over the FedEx delivery time, and the gender is rather irrelevant. My other posts are very neutral in nature, as to answer your question. I truly hope that I can get along with everyone in the future. It was never my desire to act in such a reactive, impulsive manner. I am not asking for sympathy.
Thank you, that does help clear up some of the questioning.
It is totally okay to be wrong. You believed something was a certain way, and were shown you were incorrect. I don't believe you were trying to be malicious, not purposefully, but thought you were providing correct information about what you thought were bad business practices.
In the future, try to first open dialog with your person you did business with, to try to correct any issues you feel need correcting. Also make sure you read and understand the TOS- all sellers will have a different TOS, anywhere from merely guaranteeing something will arrive, to guaranteeing satisfaction for up to a year after your purchase. You need to make sure you review this information before your commit.
Most sellers will provide a sex guarantee at the very least. If it is imperative that you get a certain sex, then contact them ASAP to get the situation cleared up. All sellers have different methods of resolving problems like this, and you'll only know if you contact them first.
FedEx delivery guarantees vary quite widely from seller to seller. I suggest in the future that you choose to have your delivery go to your local FedEx depot if possible, because you can go pick up your animal as early as 9am and it doesn't need to sit in the box, or on a truck waiting for the driver to get to you. I have purchased about 6 snakes and every one I have had held at my local depot so I could drive there and pick it up within 20 minutes of it arriving at the dock. I believe this is the safest and least stressful method, as it has the snake in the box for the least amount of time and is less prone to accidents or being late.
It is also a good idea to record an "unboxing" video every time you purchase an animal. Basically, the moment you get it, start recording a video of you opening the box to inspect the animal, see its health and condition, see if it's what you ordered, etc. If for some reason you have a problem, a video like this will go a long way to prove your case. When I get a new animal, I open the box in my car and have a look at the snake through the plastic shipping container/snake bag to make sure it is alive, alert, moving, and generally in good health, this way I can immediately take a photo and contact the seller within minutes if there is a problem.
If in the future you do have a purchase go south and you cannot resolve the situation, then do come here and state your case. But you should provide evidence as well, in the form of photos or screen captures of email and texts. As you see, there people here want to get to the bottom of any claim, and they will dig and dig until they find the truth. In your case, I can see why it feels like you're being attacked, and it can be difficult when you're not expecting to have question after question chucked at you.
This board is meant to be a professional place where vendors and customers alike can come together to leave reviews and resolve disputes. And it is thanks to this board that a great many people have gotten justice when they have been wronged. No one here is asking you questions to hurt you, they are asking because they want
truth, and generally, they will find it one way or another.
I believe it is very mature of you to admit that you were wrong, to apologize, and to
stay here to read the aftermath. It is a valuable learning experience and it will help you in the future. How you conduct yourself here in front of all these people (and for anyone who goes to Google and searches for your name) will impact any future deals, or even jobs, that you look for. These threads do not go away. How you act here will remain, indelible.
All of that said, Mike did, a few pages back, offer to try to make this situation right (when he thought you were looking for a female). If you still feel you are not whole from this purchase, then you might be able to work something out. But it takes your cooperation to do so.
