In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Dont deal with this joker !! Al Guetzkow

Wes, thank you for clearing that up. I just didn't want a potential buyer to read that as I mis-sexed or mis-represented my animals.

Mickey, I just checked both of my shoes and all is well, and I do understand your posts a bit better now. Thank you.

Ritchie,

Wrong, I never printed it for people like you. For the most part what I read from your replies are a benefit to the thread. You do research and bring out facts that may otherwise never of been known. Thats my impression of you. You may have chimed in on some threads that I dont recall, if so, was it really productive ? If you think so, great, I may not. Ive always said I can agree to disagree. But, that was never my impression.

Wes,

I know 90% of breeders arent big. IM NOT BIG !! I know Im bigger than some, but smaller than alot more. Im not saying not to read a bad guy thread. We need to know the scum for what they are. Im only stating that there are benefits to reading a good guy thread as well. But most just pass up on the thread.

Now, Im making it clear one last time. If you add or read more into my words, then your taking WRONG !!

1) I wanted to people to actually view a good deal and take a break from a "bad guy" post for just a second. BUT, do this this I need something to spice it up a bit. Ive done that.

2) I wanted to show how often the "bad" is focused and the "good" looked over. PERIOD ! I proved that. Dont any of you think it gets a bit depression reading all the "bad" ? I know I do and reading a "good" thread puts balance back into it.

3) Instead of adding fuel to a "bad guy" thread by stating things that arent productive is to no benefit to anyone. Why not waste a "thank you" instead in a "good guy" thread.

4) And of course give Al credit on a good deal.

Wes, you hit the nail on the head with this comment: "They WANT to see what went wrong, the blood and guts as it were. Who stops to sparrow feed her babies? Here in L. A. almost no one but, ALMOST everyone tries to see the car wrecks they pass on the way home everyday. It's just the way we're wired."

What was I trying to do is make people take a second and actually stop and see the sparrow feed her young for just one day or one thread in otherwords. THAT'S ALL.

Now if anyone else thinks Im singling you out, your WRONG !! Again wrong !! See what the "bad guy" threads have done to you ? Your looking for the "wrong" and not seeing the "right".

Now before anyone else takes it wrong, go read a "good guy" thread and take a chill pill.

(hello!)

i just wanted to say that the good guy posts are just as important to us (kinda newbies) smaller guys who don't have all the bad guys memorized yet, but do get a little tingle in the spidey-sense at most of their names...;

i read good guy posts!!! you can avoid people's business's all day, but when you actually *want* to buy something it's nice to know who's around that will do you right.

reading good guy posts on the BOI has helped me out when i've needed to find certain things, all through good guy posts!

i know it's odd, but sometimes being cynical can be bad... just kidding!

i also do enjoy ritchie's research, so don't get me wrong there either.

and i do enjoy stopping to watch sparrows...

bc

Are you directing this at me Daniel ? I'll have to disagree with you totally. I have responded to "Bad Guy" post when I had a similar dealing with either party.

Joe,

My opinion about you as a person and as a dealer has been expressed numerous times. But here it goes again in cased it was missed by someone, because of my personal experience you are one of the good ones, period.

The point I want to make is that bad guy threads usually help people form an opinion not only about the person the thread is about also about the individuals that reply and how they handle the situation. The opinion I have from Al doesn't come precisely because of the good guys posts in which he posted, but by how he handled himself in the bad guy posts.

Take care. :)

The opinion I have from Al doesn't come precisely because of the good guys posts in which he posted, but by how he handled himself in the bad guy posts.

What are you trying to say here?

Im not sure Al, but if you reread his first line, I think what Daniel is trying to say is that you handled yourself well when you were involved in a "Bad Guy" thread. OR its what your leaning at. I don't know. The message relayed is a bit confusing, but thats how I took it.

Daniel and anyone else !! Read my last reply and see the things I was trying to do. Stop putting meaning or words that are NOT there. Im NOT saying you shouldnt read a "Bad Guy" thread. You need too. Not once did I state to stop reading the "Bad Guy" threads !! NEVER !! Because that's what we need to look out for. Read it again, I have no problem when people not involved respond, as long as they have something useful to add (Like Ritchie's research, a past dealing or hell even just meeting the person and giving you take on their personality). It's the "Hey House Of Crappy Reptile's, I think your a piece of &^%&" or "Just thought Id bring the thread back to the top" or the "Hey so so hows it been". And meaningless replies of the sort Im referring too. NOT someone with a attempt to help, add info or lend support. I try to keep out of others deals. Yes, Id like to see how it unfolds, so I can see who I feel is the better person. Yes, I feel for the loss of the customer OR seller, however it unfolds. I just dont feel I need to jump in and get involved. When I can add useful info, I do. When there was a herper in need, Ive donated, on many occasions. When a good friend and fellow herper passed away, I held a auction for his family.

Some of you are only reading what you think is there. If you want to keep repling assuming Im meaning something Im NOT, then shoot away, and I'll just keep repeating myself over and over again. Hey, maybe we can topple a "Neil" thread !! LOL !! And buy the way, I think we have a "Good Guy" record on hits and replies. And just to throw this into it and focus back on the MAIN part of the thread !! Im still pleased with the deal Ive gotten from Al !! Now, go buy from Al. Tell Al that this thread helped in your choice on who to buy from. Maybe Al will give me a cut !! LOL !!

The opinion I have from Al doesn't come precisely because of the good guys posts in which he posted, but by how he handled himself in the bad guy posts.

This is the problem with e-mails, one is not able to "read" something which is very important in a one-on-one conversation, body language. The words are only a minor part of what we try to communicate.

That statement means that IMHO Al has always conducted himself professionally and without bias in every bad gut thread he has participated. It would have been very difficult (at least for me) to form such an opinion if he had just made a contribution to a good guy thread stating for example: "I also dealt with so and so and it was great". Do I get to know him from that statement?

We have to be careful with how we conduct ourselves in a bad guy thread. There are several examples of people that have hurt their own image with their posts when in fact they were not the guys singled as bad guy by the thread in question.

There have been instances where the supposedly bad guy (and please allow me to use law terminology here) was "aquitted of all charges" by how correctly he handled hymself under pressure. The person that posted the intial complaint was in fact the one that ended as the villain by how poorly he handled the situation.

Was this easier to understand?

Closing with emoticons so there is no doubt as of how I'm feeling right now! ;)

:)

bad gut thread

Darn! The "g" and the "t" are right close to each other. I meant bad guy thread, although on second thought "bad gut thread" might not be such a bad expression after all! ;)

I do understand and agree with you Alvaro, sorry I questioned you. I am not the brightest bulb on the tree, and sometimes I have a hard time trying to interpret what others are trying to say on here.

I too have witnessed several bad guy threads where posters made themselves look like asses when it is clear that the have no dealings with either party. I caught myself doing this in the past and have been making a great effort trying to steer clear of threads that have no personal bearing on me. I even went as far as to stop posting on some other forums due to myself getting carried away at times.

Joe, Ron, John, I thank you and I'm very glad you are happy with my animals.

In short, I think we all learned a few things from this thread, the most obvious being that Al really is a great guy with fantastic animals.

Just completed a trade with Al and I have to say that he is one of the good ones for sure. Al and I will doing doing tons of business in the future. Great looking pastels, great value, what else can you ask for?

Thanks Al.

You could always ask for someone with a little personality.

Seriously since I have been getting more involved in this hobby very few have helped me as much as Al has. He has gone well out of his way to include me in things at Tinley Park and make sure my wife and I were comfortable. The beer was awesome by the way. Great guy and Becky isn't so bad either  . Buy in complete confidence.
