In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I recently did business with a David Jimenez of San
Diego, California and was tricked. Per emails back
and forth we were going to trade some bearded dragons.
He stated he had never done this before and suggested
I send my dragon to him first and he would reuse the
box and heat packs to send back the two of his
dragons. Stupid me for believing this. Well needless
to say I have never gotten anything from him. I sent
my bearded dragon February 5th, 2005 and as of March
21st he has yet to send anything or return any of my
recent emails. In the future I will be more careful
who I do business with. I am posting this information
in the hopes of preventing anyone else from going
through what I did. If you are smart you will not do
any business with this person. Hope this helps
someone out there. I did alot of checking on him
before I sent my dragon and I found out he had a yahoo
profile so I did not think I would get f**ked I guess I
was wrong at least I know what he looks like if I ever
get to California.

Scott, hon, it's not that I'm unsympathetic, but did you see that profile BEFORE you entered into the deal? His nickname is "hustler"?!?

How did you ship the beardies? You'd have to check the applicable laws, but if you have all the emails, you may just have enough for the police to pay him a visit. "Theft by deception" is still valid in many areas.

Regardless, it sucks. Anybody in the SF area that can lend a hand?

No I Did Not See His Profile Till After I Shipped The Worst Part Was
Another Guy E-Mailed Me The Day After I Shipped And Wanted To Buy
The Dragon.

Well, another schmuck to add to the "Do not do business with" list. The world is full of petty thieves and liars. God has prepared a place for them too. Don't waste anger or hate on him, God says He will take care of it. It is unfortunate that people lack integrity and have such poor values.
The less time you waste focusing on them, the more you have to put towards the things that are worth your energy.

Please listen to ms terese's advice and take action. This scumbag :hot: needs to be kept from doing this again. I don't know if San Diego cops would go after this guy, hopefully they will but thanks for giving everyone a heads up. Sorry you learned the hard way! Don't think all folks are like this guy, just be a little more cautious in the future.

I agree. Call the local police in San Diego. And call the FBI since this was an interstate transaction. A visit to his house by the authorities will get his attention if nothing else.

Brian,

The assurance that God will handle it later is not always good enough. Some people do not even believe in God, and are still very good people. We live in the here and now, and I think it is important to take responsibality for our lives and to do what we can do to stop people like David Jimenez from pulling crap like this. "Faith without works is dead" (James 1:5). I am not a religous person, but I think there is a lot of wisdom in that saying. I think that if Scott can contact authorities and get this clown caught, he should go ahead and do it. You are correct in that we should not waste anger and hate on these kinds of guys. However, there is no indication that Scott is doing that, and I really think that is worth his time to pursue matters legally in this case and see what can be done. This can only end up benefiting all of in the long run. Apathy, creates a breeding ground for scammers and thieves to flourish.
