• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Don't get scammed!

I don't have a business phone, just a home phone that I share with my house mates. As a result, I don't give that number out as a business contact number. I do, however, give it out if someone insists, and when they are actually buying from me, or I from them (for shipping emergencies).
However, everyone once in a while, some buyer or prospective buyer gets ahold of it, and they do not respect it when you tell them that it's not a business phone. They call repeatedly. That has to go on the rude buyers list.

I have a new one!!

Beware if they ask if you can pay for the shipping of your own animal and they pay for the shipping of theirs..there are instances where this CAN be a good thing..but...if they have no intention of shipping out their animal..you are screwed and helped screw yourself and they have given you absolutely NOTHING for the animal.

If you approach me for a trade deal... be prepaired to ship out first and once the animal arrives as described then and only then will I ship out to complete the trade. Dont approach me to trade then expect me to ship first or at the same time... wont happen.

Have to Agree with you there Southern Wolf... When you approach someone with a trade expect to ship out first... I think it's only fair! If I approach someone with a trade and they have a good reputation and references then and only then would I ship first!

Agreed. I had an adult female mojave for sale last year, and rather than contacting me through email as I had asked, one of the large breeders out there decided to grab my number off my site and call me at strange hours repeatedly. I've since taken the number down, and he's on my don't do business with list.

If you have that number for your seller, please be respectful with it!

EWWWWWWW thats kinda Creepy!!!!!!

Recently,

Sill in the process actually, a customer asked me to go take photos of my house as well. Even described exactly what he wanted a photo of.

In this day and age, and all of the technology at our fingertips, I thought this was a pretty good idea. He said he wanted to know what the house looked like to where he was shipping. All the while, he was on the internet looking it up through Google earth or another engine. I rushed outside and was able to get that completed for him within 5-10 minutes.

This too, could also be used in sales as well. Want to know where your product is coming from? Ask to take a pic of their residence or place of business.

Okay, photos of where I live is a dealbreaker. I'm not even totally comfortable giving up the city I live in for my profile here. It'd be so easy for someone to use name, location, and house photos to find you and steal everything you own.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

Won't/Can't they find out that information any way (address) when you do that ship? It would be easy then for them to do the Google themselves.

Shadera, I understand what you are saying however, they get that info from you when they have to remit payment anyhow. There are programs out there, like Google Earth and some better ones, that once they have your address will show your home. Big brother is watching us

If you wanna send people pictures of where you live, go for it. Me, I'm not going there. I think that's my choice, or at least last I checked I had a choice. This isn't about big brother, it's about what little privacy I have left.

No, it's not "necessary" to take pics of your house even if a customer asks for it. My point was the information isn't secret. They can get a picture of your house from another source, anyway. So, there's not exactly any "benefit" in not providing the information?

Like I said Deb, go for it. You know how I feel about your opinion..

I'm not sending anyone pictures of my house for the same reason I don't invite them over to do business, and no one will change my mind on that.

Its a scary world we live in. Everytime we submit a PayPal payment for something we purchase, they can easily see our home because of the address thats associated with our PayPal acct. Everytime we ship something, we have to use a return address as well. They have access to our addresses really easily so that info isnt the problem.

The person who wanted a pic of my home, he actually asked for a specific photo, a tree in my front yard, the one with the bricks around it;)

I would be ok with a photo of the exterior, to prove that really was my address. As you pointed out, Google Earth shows an arial view of anyhow. Photos of the interior? Not a chance.

"Oh, and here's the layout, so you don't have to bother to send anyone over to case the joint". lol....

There is another website that will actually show the front of the address, whatever the address pertains to. When I find it, I will post the link to it in here for everyone.

I would never shoot pics of the inside of my home, unless it was a BIG gun, next to a freezer etc... But once someone has your address, they know what your house looks like if they want to know.

Exactly!

If I were to sell/or want to sell my house, pics of the outside would be public anyway. I really don't see the harm of outside pics (perhaps someone will fall in love with this monsterousity and take it off my hands!!) for customers so that they can see that I actually live here.

** but on the other hand, it really proves nothing, I could have given the neighbor's address and taken a pic of the neighbor's house.:D
