Doom and gloom

I was having an ordinary little day and somehow I started watching this video

It seems like everything is going to Hell in a handbasket.
And all I hear about are politicians who are getting in trouble for corruption and personal indelicacies instead of doing their dang job and helping us. Remember us? We, the people?

For you, what's the worst?

I didn't vote for "other" but I thought of something after I already submitted my vote. My "other" would be the increasingly prevalent and powerful sense of entitlement that people in this country have. And its that very sense of entitlement that is making it SO easy for the government to trash our economy and our country. The government is so busy trying to please everyone who feels like they're entitled to something for nothing that they end up passing taxes and laws that make it all but impossible for anyone to actually succeed on their own merits.

For us, the worst has been having our kids' college funds whittled done to almost nothing through negative earnings. We have one son in a public university and one going this fall. We are going into debt so fast our heads are spinning to get these kids educated so they have half a chance of making it. Of course we are taking advantage of student loans that they will help pay off themselves upon graduation, but even a public university is $100K for four years (w/housing). We had this saved and paid for, until the mutual funds went down the tubes. It is more than scary.
Oh yeah, I'm also not crazy about these guys taking advantage of people's fear to sell their books.
