In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So, I cant remember who I was talking to, but, one of my local snake buddies, and they claimed an axanthic using vpi gene & one other axanthic gene had been produced and that it was really cool looking. Im just wondering if anybody has heard/seen this animal as I dont cruise the forums as much as some other people. It would be interesting to see how two different axanthic genes would affect an animal. I tried doing a google search and did not find what I was looking for.

Thanks!!

I've heard of people trying to blend the lines, but I've never seen the results...

Would be interesting to see.

I just logged on and was going to ask the same, but as far as I can remember the last post I saw said the same answers.

Well, that's the question, Dustin. The OP said there were rumors that crossing different lines of Axanthics didn't produce just another Axanthic--it produced something unexpected. It would be neat if we could find out whether this is true or not.

Thanks Krystal I read the whole post so I knew what the question was I'm just saying I don't think it would look anything different than any other axanthic. Genes don't typically work like that and if it did look really cool I'm sure it would have already been done since axanthics have been around FOREVER. Try it out and see what you get, you may be the first to do it but I've seen axanthics that were double het for joliff and VPI genes selling on here and other sites but thats been a year or two now. If anything I think it would increase the odds when breeding. Like if you bred a double het axanthic x a double het axanthic you would be twice as likely to get axanthics since both lines are being used.

Well, what I was told, is that it looked like an axanthic but washed out and with random white scales, thus why I decided to ask about it as I wouldve assumed the same, that it would just look like an axanthic..

It would be a good question for Kevin, Brian, or Ralph. I'm sure if its happened one of the big shots has either heard of it or created it. Maybe there was another gene at work in this particular specimen. Wish there was someone else who knew about it so they could chime in.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I wouldn't expect much difference either (except maybe it would keep the grey color longer and not brown out). But stranger things have happened! I mean, look at what Mystics, Specials, Spectres, and Russo (het BEL) snakes do to other morphs, and I'm sure no one expected those! :D I'd love it if Axanthics did something cool like that.

Plus, it would be good motivation for people to try stuff they think won't produce something really super neat. There's a specific "secret" project I've been considering doing involving Axanthics, but I'm hesitant because I don't think the outcome will be anything to write home about...despite that there's always a chance it will produce something awesome.

Yeah there would be some perks to getting a double axanthic besides the fact that it would double the increase in odds. I'm sure the babies would be much much darker since they have both lines. It's a possibility that it would create something really nice due to the fact that the lines aren't compatible. I wouldn't expect an outcome as cool as a superstripe or mystic potion because those are Co-dominant/dominant when these are recessive. I would think that since both are recessive and are not compatible the babies would probably be much more dark and silver. I too would like to see what would happen with this. So whats the hidden project? I too have some hidden axanthic projects going on. lol.

Well, if someone does pursue it they will need to tell me how it turns out. I would only be interested if VPI line was involved though since thats what I have. :)

I read a lot of stuff on another forum and it was said that when testing to see if the other lines were compatible there were double het babies produced but I'm not sure if the babies were ever bred back together. The story just dies after that. I have SK line myself.
