    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I feel that any enforcement is a joke when you have a likely fraud as a moderator.
One that claims to be a physician, yet no state checked, has a current or an expired license showing in their records.

Which means he is either lying about being a physician or is not supplying his real name on the BOI.

Maybe some deeper digging needs to be done on that person.

First off, I did not ask Dr. Owens to be a moderator here because I think he is a doctor. That is completely irrelevant. I also did not do any extensive checks to see what his real name may be, so again, that is irrelevant as well.

I checked on his reputation, whether that is as an alias, assumed name, or anything else you seem to be hinting at, and I was satisfied with what I learned. If you have some concrete PROOF that Dr. Owens is NOT a doctor, so what? He could be superman in disguise for all I care. As far as I can see, you are making implied accustations based on a LACK of evidence on your part, which may merely mean that you do not have the needed expertise to be able to effectively find the facts that may exist concerning Dr. Owens.

The only thing that is important about his role HERE on THIS site is how he does the job of moderator. Beyond that, even if he is an alien from the galaxy Galumpha, I really could not care less.

Dr. Jay Owens is a good friend of mine and has been for some time, his background and character are solid and real. Your basic lack of knowledge concerning the medical field, it processes, memberships, and designators has made you play the role of a fool.

Of course Dr. Jay Owens is a physician and sadly the unnecessary “proof” of it will be posted by him. You and the other mindless troll’s attempts to slander a good man with your false “background research” accusations are pitiful – shame on you!

I guess that trolling on the Bob Clark Forum wasn't enough for you, so you decided to also bring it over here to the BOI. You even did this after I had already stated that I am not currently practicing because I left my residency in Internal Medicine one year ago in order to care for my father who is dying of cancer. When I left my residency, my resident's license expired. My permanent license is currently in the application process with the states Kansas and Missouri.

What does it matter if Jay Owens has a license or not? Last time I checked, one didn't need a Dr's license to breed such cool (and not to mention healthy!) looking snakes.

Hell, I've only talked with Jay a few times, never met him in person, but I still consider him one of the honest people out there.

I used to use the screen name Mr Crowley on some forums(while I was being stalked by an ex) does that mean I am a fraud, was I trying to be Mr Crowley or something? Ya know the name comes from the Ozzy song?

I know for a fact that Jay had higher priorities in life that forced him to leave the medical field and I know for a fact that he was in the medical field and in any point in time could return. So grow up

Oh and one last thing, anyone as dedicated to corn snakes as him you shouldnt mess with. This guy has dreams of corns.

Eddie i hope your satisfied now. As far as i know when somebody graduates from medical school they are a Doctor. Even if they never use it and decide to dig ditches for a living. Eddie you should now apologize for trolling.

Webslave, normally i agree with you, but i hope you don't create a different set of standards for your moderators. If he was not a Doctor it would have been deceiving, and you should of then cared.

And as far as butt kickings go, if there was more of them dished out like to Detwiller and Gentil to name a couple, the world would be a whole lot better place to live.

The asshattery of this situation is beyond reason & I do feel at least partly responsible for it because of my post on RTB calling out Brett on the utter BS he was spouting.

Jay, my apologies for helping inflame this situation to begin with my initial post over on RTB. But, I was unaware of the grade school mentality that would result from it.

Brett & reticed.....you're behavior on the BCF & here as shown that you are both unable to maintain social interaction at an adult level.

Maybe if the 2 of you were capable of acting like adults instead of spoiled children you could see how you are both doing some nice damage to your reputations in the herp world. I wish you both the best in your endeavor and bright future as spokespeople for PETA. I'm sure the both of you will fit in smashingly there.

Nope, I didn't care one bit whether or not Jay was a real doctor or not. For all I know, that's what his parents named him. It was not relevant to my decision to ask him to be a moderator here and I am just puzzled why anyone would think that it should be.

The ONLY time this would ever concern me would be when I am going into an operating room and the guy wielding the scalpel is not really a doctor. Otherwise, I really could not care less what someone decides to call themself as a screen name prefix on this site.

And no, this policy is not specific to the moderators here. I don't care if ANY user here calls themselves "Dr". It certainly won't get them any special privileges or consideration here, so why should I be concerned about it?

Now if his name was not really "Jay Owens", well yes, then we might have a problem.

Are things really that slow in the bad guy arena here? Sounds to me that some of you are running out of things to worry about.

You trying to make this personal. You don't stand in my shoes and don't know my "worries".

When somebody says Doctor, i think reliability, trust and brains. And you do not think that would carry any weight in the Herp. world. His snakes should be as healthy as they can be. That is everything i look for in a seller.

And Dr. Owens i am convinced you are a Doctor and sorry you are the center of this thread.
 
Jay, ya know, corns can be deadly if not chewed properly before swallowed. I could not help but change my name on my signiture. I hope someone wastes time looking up my statis as a doctor. Jay, you should be honored to be the subject of such interest. Some people just don't have much of a life. Oh, wait, that would include me too. Take care Jay, and keep up the good work
