In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

[email protected] any info on this person?

Hi everyone. I am inquiry about a person selling GREEN Bearded Dragons on the .OTHER LIZARD classifieds here on Fauna under the name DragonWiz. http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13633 The pic he sent shows the animals green but it also shows that his hand is green. His profile shows he just registered, and is 17. Anyone dealt with this guy or seen these animals in person? I would appreciate any insight or information on this person. Thanks in advance

Green beardies popping up in captive populations are very, very unlikely. If you do decide to go through with this deal, please let us know if the dragon is still green after it sheds.

Rob.... Don't forget!!.... We're getting pretty close to St. Patrick's Day????

Or, maybe they were CBB by the Jolly GREEN Giant??.... Ho Ho Ho.... That's probably HIS hand in the pic!!.... lol

I once did a deal for a "BLUE" Blue-Tongued Skink.... and in the picture, the animal WAS BLUE!!.... When I got it in and looked at it, it was your NORMAL Blue-Tongue!!.... I called the seller, and I told him that I thought he said it was BLUE???.... His answer kinda floored me.... he said.... we put a Blue Tint over the pic to give it some contrast!!.... Needless to say, I sent it back and got a full refund!
If you STILL decide to get them.... maybe I can make you a deal on some ocean-front property I have in ARIZONA!!!.... lmao

....Neil

Thats why I posted the inquiry. I have seen people posting green beardeds and everyone always looks like a normal or grey animal. I have been breeding bearded for years and have NEVER seen a real green bearded. Maybe this will just turn out to be a warning.

I think that Rob@RK Reptiles was trying to be nice and see if DragonWiz would admit to anything or if anyone knew him. If Rob says all the "green dragons" are either normal or gray, then that makes me wonder about the "green picture". If DragonWiz is trying to sell "Jolly Green Giant Dragons" then the innocent buyers need to know that they will be gray instead of green.

Thanks Rob for helping to keep stupid buyers like me from making a mistake. We need to know when a seller might not be honest.

Rob,
Could you post the pic of the so called "green" beardies. You've sparked my curiosity:)

Here is the picture of the supposed Green Dragons.

I wrote to this person asking for better pictures with the animals not enhanced, placed next to normal or other color animals and have yet to get a return e-mail.

If the photo was not enhanced, the guy holding the dragons better get to a doctor, I haven't seen a case of jaundice like that in a long time.

Well,

The person (KID) wrote me back and said
that pic I sent you was not enhanced, and I have no younger beardies to
compare them too unless you want me to put the babies in a plastic container
and it will be very difficult to get a clear picture. But if you are willing
to wait a couple of days i will send you a pic of one of the babies I have
left on a colored cloth that will show more clearly if I enhanced the photo
or not.

the fact that you thought that I enhanced the photo has made my day
Thanks
Daniel Martin

I guess this is just another one that I will be staying away from.

Now, to be fair, I've hatched out a lot of babies that have a green hue and look similar to those babies. Green to me as a baby typically meant to expect more yellow as they grow. The "old school" way to look for color (you know, before all dragons were screaming out of the egg) was to look for an olive hue--the more olive meant the more bright color to develop in the future.
I would ask to see a photo of the "green" mom--that should tell you much more. A real green adult I dont think I've ever seen. I would guess those babies would show gold after a few months.

Here is an unusual example though--I hatched out a group of babies that showed a lot of green this year...photo attached...I just got an email from the guy that bought the really green one (left) and apparantly it has stayed very green and orange. I'll see if I cant find the photos he sent. Another one from that clutch I raised until he was 14 inches and he was turning yellow and orange.

So, I do not think it is really rare, but it is more rare that it stays green and doesnt turn gold.
I agree though--ask for more photos and if he claims a green mom, ask to see it--and who bred it : )

No making fun of my photo now--LOL

Speaking of photos...those fake looking red uromastyx that Rob posted on KS classifieds--well, they are even brighter and faker looking in person! Ive never seen any color like it.

Daniel's submission of what actual coloration probably is shows what is most likely true to life. The picture posted by this kid in his ad is obviously color altered. Nice try. Next!

green will probably turn out to be yellow

The pics actually look alot like the yellow morph beardeds that I had and bred, the babies looked VERY close to what is in the pics, just a thought. What people say is a green ghost ball to some would look like a yellow ghost.

I too emailed the guy about the green dragons. He sent me the same picture and the $225 price tag without shipping. I have asked him for pictures of the parents. He told me that this was a new and exciting color strain. He said he hadn't had time to post pictures for answering emails.
So far no pictures of the parents.
At least in Dana's picture the hands are green!
Will let you know if I get anything.

Candy King

Sorry, meant to say:
At least in Dana's picture, the hands aren't green and you can see the orange too.
No Jolly Green Giant visit there.

Candy King

Actually, Dana's don't look green to me, either. More olive-drab. Most of my babies have come out yellow, and they have a bit of that olivey hue to them.

I think the pic in the AVS Bearded Dragon Manual of the wild green dragon has a lot to do with the green dragon mania. And THAT animal doesn't look green to me, either.

So, whenever you see a bright green dragon, it's probably a fake.

Same thing with some blue dragons. A lot of normal-colored dragons (are there any left???) have some blue coloration, which they outgrow. Someone (I forgot the breeder) claims to have a blue line, but I haven't seen adults of those yet. I've got one fat little boy here who had lots of blue tint on his head, but he's starting to lose it.

I've seen beardies in retail places that were a nice, neon green color...

As was the soaking wet Calci-sand they were sitting on.

What program was it that had the auto-fix filter function? There seem to be more and more examples of heavily altered photos now that tinting software is readily and cheaply avaliable, and something with an advanced function like that might be worthwhile...

Anyone besides me remember the solomon island skink that was on the Zoo-Med "Omnivorous Lizard and Box Turtle" canned food?

I miss the days when it was simple to tell if something had been edited because it... and the entire background... were the exact same color (highlighter marker green for the above mentioned skink.

I played around with a photo editing program that came with my computer, just to see how easy it was to edit and how long it would take... I used a few photos I had found online and found it to be simplicity itself to knock up anything from obviously faked to very subtle changes and whatever I wanted in between, including some really odd looking animals or screamers that were decent enough to make you question the validity of the photo.

Something to be careful of these days, to be certain.

Dana I reused your image but took off your name just in case someone was glancing through this and thought it was real (or a photoshop by you.

Here's a very quick example of what you can do with photoshop. It is very frightening.. (both my lack of skill, and what you can do with it!)
