In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have wanted to work with this species for almost 10 years, since first seeing pictures on my buddy Mike Heinrich’s website oh-so-long-ago. The entire reason I started with corn snakes was to get practice with egg-laying rat snakes in hopes one day I would be able to own and breed Ridleyi; this is now a reality!

Received my Cave Dwelling Rat Snakes this AM:

Introducing Ricky and Lucy! They are CBB proven breeder pair. Colors are a bit off in these photos, just some quick snapshots. Will do a proper photoshoot in a couple weeks once they are settled in.

Ricky:

The following pics are Lucy, she is the more colorful of the pair:

Gotta be careful I don’t trip and fall off Cloud 9!

:D
thanks for looking!

Who else is working with this beautiful species?

P.S. I apparently haven’t been keeping up with rat snake classification, what they heck happened to the genera Elaphe? (these were called Elaphe t. Ridleyi)

Beautiful new additions April!!

I know, right? Hell, I was just getting used to calling Black Rats Pantherophis, now they want to call them Scotophis!!

I LOVE cave dwelling rats. Every time I see them at shows me heart bleeds. OOh well. You'll just have to post oodles and oodles of pics now April! :D

thanks for all the nice comments! I'll try to get some new pics sometime in the next few weeks.

I'm surprised yours are so tame, they are usually known for having quite the temper sometimes

I got lucky, the original owner raised them from babies and worked a lot to get them docile. My dad was in town the other day, so I was showing these off and he reached out to grab the female about 4" behind the head... I quickly said "Dad, no, don't grab the head!!" but she didn't even flinch or fight it.

Of course, when in their enclosures, it's another story. It's like a torpedo coming out of that hide to grab the f/t mice! The incredible feeding response really shocked me. they are awesome
:D

*wonders when apwiwl will get a nother pair and name that male "bobby"* :D i love going back and kist looking at them :D :D theyre soooo pretty!

Yeah, I'm late ... but better late than never, right?
