I bring this up only because Kingsnake might want to know what Dan is selling and doing to people who find his adds through Kingsnake as the OP of this topic did. I wonder if Kingsnake even cares? Do they just let people like Dan run wild on their classifieds? Even Ebay police their users and try to make it enjoyable for all and have ways to fish out the scum.

For the record, and I'm sure that anyone that know's how I feel about Scolaro, yes, it's true, I always had GREAT dealings with him, snakes that I purchased were outstanding and represented as advertised. However, the caveat, that was 2 years ago. He doesn't offer anything that I am working with now, but if he did, I would purchase it from him due to past transactions with me.
Scott, maybe instead of taking your complaints to the BOI, or Venomous.org about Dan, you should call him of the phone and air out your problems with him. And I would suggest that to ANYONE here that has a complaint/problem with him, because, as I stated long ago, only chickenshits take "pot-shots" at someone who has lost the ability to post here, (by either their own actions or a moderator who let their emotions be persuaded by "popular opinion" of "regulars" who post on the BOI)

I completely agree with your statement about taking "pot-shots" at someone who doesn't have the ability to defend themselves, which is why I generally try not to add to threads such as these...especially when no new information is being presented.

As for speaking to him on the phone, I'd also have to agree that he is very friendly and personable. The problem arose when I posted about our positive conversation here on the BOI. It was shortly thereafter that I pointed out GLARING inconsistencies between what he had told me and what was posted publicly. After that, he wasn't so friendly...in fact, he launched a few personal attacks in retaliation. So, nope, I don't need to call him again. The way he's conducted himself while knowing all eyes were watching is all the information I need about his character.

I do have to say, however, that I respect your steadfastness in his defense. You know you're swimming upstream, but go to bat for someone you personally trust anyway. Hopefully this affiliation doesn't come back to bite you.

I hope so to Mike. But it is what it is. My dealings have been positive and I realize I'm in the minority on this one, maybe I was just lucky in my dealings with him. However to be honest, Scolaro did me right.

Randal, I didn't bring kingsnake business here the original poster did! His dealing with Dan was through KINGSNAKE! Most of Dans FAUNACLASSIFIEDS complaints are through kingsnake. So, in this case IMO, bringing kingsnake up maybe helpful to all involved. (Maybe wording it differently would have been better, "If you have bought from Dan at DTS through an add on Kingsnake, maybe you should contact kingsnake and file a complaint!" instead of, asking what kingsnake policy is. Either way the point got across. Now if the OP didn't bring up Kingsnake, yeah, your right, I shouldn't have bought it up but the OP did mention he found DANS snakes through kingsnake!

I'd like to see my complaint on Venomous.org (Not saying I didn't make a comment long ago but I don't recall". I don't run Dan through the mud all over the internet, I only recall here on Fauna BOI because, like me, many have had bad dealings with him and this is the place to voice your opinion, not all over the internet. As I said, maybe I posted something on Venomous.org but I honestly don't think I did, will you please direct me to the post I made about Dan on that other site that you recall me making, thanks.

Pot shots at Dan?... I don't recall taking Pot shots at him yet, here, maybe scum but that's how he acts towards people, just read the Original Post. I don't know the man Randal, I know the business side of him. He could be the coolest guy around but when it comes to business, his track record points to scum bag! You and Dan might think that is a Pot Shot but it is what it is. Randal, that's all fine and well that your deal with Scolaro from 2 years ago went well. I would have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that were you to have any future dealings with him they too would go well. Unfortunately I would not have the same confidence were someone else entering into a transaction with him. Now this may come as a shock to you but I do not think he is an idiot and that is why he would make sure you would be satisfied in any future dealings seeing as you have come to bat for him over and over and over and over and over again. Seeing a pattern here yet? When there are multitudes of other people making complaints and prior to his removal the way in which he would react and lie when confronted it's difficult to see a positive outcome for anyone other than you when dealing with him.

Sorry Randal but one of the purposes of the BOI is to inform others of dealings with others be it originating from Fauna, Kingsnake or any other site or means. To suggest not bringing things here is asinine. To suggest calling Dan is idiocy after hearing about folks who have already tried this and seeing how he has reacted here when someone makes a complaint.

As far as I have seen since this thread has been brought back up I have not seen anything I would call "pot shots" at him. Your choice of words describing those who you claim have/are is very Scolaro in nature. As is the blaming of the "regulars" and moderators for his dismissal.

I have followed many of the threads related to DTS, and quite honestly, I was surprised at how lenient the mods had been before finally throwing in the towel and banning him from here, because of HIS actions HERE. But if you have any concrete evidence to the contrary, then by all means forward that to me for review.

It is MY opinion that many members, when the target of less than flattering evidence, or someone whom they are feeling friendly towards is subjected to the same scrutiny, like to foist up the shield of "bias" or something akin to the "wolf pack" or otherwise unfair "mob mentality" to try to shift the blame onto the accusers and other parties voicing what appears to be valid concerns. This is a very common defense technique here. Fortunately, from what I have seen, most just will not fall for that song and dance using smoke and mirrors for props.

Unfortunately the case seems to be that K.S. doesn't particularly care if their vendors are scammers or decent folk, either one still has to pay KS to advertise so they make money off of either one of them, but they can't make money off of someone who's been banned.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's complained to KS regarding Dan. In fact back when this thread was started several of the other members from this site who read and were participating on this thread also complained to K.S. with basically no results. basically the way it works is Dan and anyone else who chooses to scam people through their ads on K.S. are welcomed to do so with KS's blessing just as long as if someone complains and actually goes through all the hoops to make a big deal about it the scammer settles up by giving a refund at which time they're welcomed to have their account back and continue with business as usual. At least that's the impression I got when I spoke with KS's customer reps about why they re-instituted Dan's account once he refunded me my money even though it was blatantly clear he was trying to scam me all along.

I've decided to end my Dan comments. It does no good to continue... I don't need to say anything about him because it has already been said. Good luck to Dan, I honestly hope he turns his business around and becomes a valuable member in the reptile community again one day.

I bought 4 musk turtles from him. The transaction was okay but one of the animals were sick when I recived it. It didn't look bad and I didn't want to deal with shipping again, but it later died. His prices were really high to so I don't think I will be dealing with him agian.

High prices, sick animal that dies, shouldn't take too much thinking to come to the conclusion not to deal with him again.
