In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry DTS HERPS

Does anyone have experience with Dan at DTS Herps? any info would be greatly appreciated. Jason Domine

From what I have witnessed from him here before he was banned it would be like dealing with someone with turrets if a problem occurs. :mah: More often then not there will be a problem. I would suggest looking elsewhere for whatever animal you are interested in obtaining.

turrets .

Tourette's.

Turrets would be a man with a castle. I'd love to find me a man with his own castle :)

Of course, even if Dan owned a thousand turrets, I would not be taking up with him

I though it looked wrong but the spell check didn't underline the word red. (though your spelling did. :shrug01: I guess the Firefox spell check doesn't include medical terminology)

had a shipping error (his fault)which he ripped me a new one asking why i didnt contact him first... well dan your 1200 miles away and the reptile is in my city. Whos gonna find it first? The animal sat at (USPS) first no no for 2 days luckily she was still alive. If not im sure he would not of refunded just on the fact he was not contacted first. Hes on my dont not re-buy list but you can make your own decision

He shipped a baby argentine b & w tegu, everyone has their opinion but i would never ship usps for any reptile. Im assuming it was cheaper for him, if I was given the option of course it would be fed-ex or ups. Ive had 2 reptiles shipped usps to me both times I had to track it down

Did you contact Dan and what if so... what was his response. Be advised... if there were obsenities... Use astricks there... or you'll get an infraction point.

Here is a link to my BAD experience with Dan, where he called me names and called me a liar to boot, despite the fact that HE sent ME several reptiles, improperly packaged and one arrived with a bad eye infection. He refused to give me the $30 refund I asked for - half the price of the sick tortoise, and out of a nearly $400 order.

Emails and pics provided.

Here is the reply I just received..actually nice and no bad comments but I still wonder how many more of his snakes have mites because we all know how those buggers spread

Oh, I did not see any mites? I would say to wipe him down with a light coat of baby oil and that will take them off and rid them from going back onto him. I do not recommend that reptile relief stuff as it has harmed animals I am told. One wipe with the oil dampened a bit on a papertowel and then another wipe with a wet towel to wipe some of the oil off should work fine and sorry about the mites as I did not see them or would of took care of the issue before sending him.

If he thinks a quick wipe with baby oil is all you need to do to fix mites, I'm quite sure every poor animal in his collection is crawling with them. :(

Tell him you're unhappy with the snake and want a refund, then you'll see the real Dan in your next e-mail.

Mites do not dissapear with a magical wipe of baby oil. Mites lay eggs, mites are pretty stubborn and do not want to be killed. Any snake I receive with mites would immediatly be shipped back, same day I got it.

Mites are an unfortunate part of our awesome hobby... It is also not a reason to ship a snake back... They can be delt with very easily and proper quarantine will prevent you having an issue in the rest of your collection...

When I buy a new snake, it is sprayed down with Black Knight spray no matter who it came from... From many years in the hobby, I have learned that mites can come from even the most reputable breeder/seller...

With that being said, the oil treatment will kill the large majority of live mites on your snake but will not kill them all in most cases... That is not good advice to resolve a mite issue...

The oil may kill some or all of the mites and most sprays like black knight and reptile relief kill mites as well but they will not kill the eggs. PAM is one of the only sprays that I have had any success in ridding mites from snakes that came in. I've only had two come in with mites over the past like 3 years and prevent a mite is the only thing that would totally knock them out for good. That being said, PAM will kill your animal if you don't use precautions and seperate the animal from its cage while applying the spray, then let it settle and put the animal back into its cage. Mites can be devastating especially if they infest the rest of the collection and I would say they are a definate reason to send a snake back to the breeder if its not worth the possibility of infesting the rest of your collection. Why risk it.

fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. That principle applies to everyone on the BOI for bad reasons. If your going to give your money to someone after they have had bad experiences with other buyers then you are doing just that, "giving away your money"
