    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm getting ready to order a couple more racks from AP, and notice they're now offering dual side radiant heating for their racks.

Anyone used this type of rack from them before, and what's your opinion on it if you have? As good as regular belly heat? Any problems getting your hot spots to the correct temp range?

If it matters, I'm looking at CB70s.

Thanks!

Thanks Harald. I did eventually find those.

I just wanted to pop back to this thread and answer my own question in case anyone finds this and is wondering the same thing I was.

I ordered CB70s from AP with dual side radiant heat installed, rather than my usual belly heat. For those particular sized racks, the heating system consists of a strip of 11" flexwatt run down each side towards the back of the unit. Both strips of flexwatt are wired into one cord. So far, so good and I like this method of heating very much. My hot spot is where I set it to be, with temps a couple degrees hotter towards the outer edges. Does a very nice job of heating the sides, bottom, and back of the tubs, and the snakes seem to like it as well.

Here's a not-so-great picture of what it looks like.

So why is that type of heating a gain? I understand belly heat, conduction in its finest form. Why is this type worthwhile?

There are several different methods of rack heating out there. People are free to choose which they like best and go from there. None is really a "gain" over the others, as they all do the same thing.

I personally wanted more of an even heating through the back of my larger tubs, rather than just one warm spot to lie on, so am giving this a try.

And that would be what you consider is their gain.:rofl:

As usual, you post just to argue. There's a reason you're on my blocked posts list.

For me, yes it is a gain. But if you're happy using whatever it is you're using, then no one is asking you to change it. I had asked about this because I saw it was something new being offered, and was curious as to how it worked. Why stop in to argue with people who are trying to find the best way to do things for their situation? Why not stop in on a thread and post some actual useful information?
