Granted, that's because Rich saw it before I did, and your position is still rather tenuous; but you haven't been removed. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have tried this as your reentry? It would have had just as much chance of success, and been subject to the same circumstances...but it would have eliminated the stigma of recently getting banned for more fake accounts.

It's not bad at all, what's happening here. You simply are not providing any proof to your claims. How can anyone begin to believe you when you just make open claims. It's like me saying "I bought a unicorn 2 weeks ago for my farm, from Joe Smith in Port St. Lucie, Florida". Do you believe me?

You want to contribute positively? Be honest. That's the best way to positively contribute to this hobby.

Considering the number of accounts you have used under assumed names, you can't truly be surprised by the reception you are getting. To be honest, I think you're being treated fairly well, all things considered. You are the one that shaped your reputation...do you really think everything will simply go away because you say you're a better person now?
(Note, I'm not saying that you haven't changed - just that nobody is going to accept that statement from you at face value...you're going to have to PROVE it; and that isn't likely to happen in this thread.)

Sometimes bad press is better than no press at all. By this thread, Dustin has made sure than many, many people will see his name.
There are good souls, gentle souls, who may read that someone is trying to turn his/her life around. They think to themselves 'Why not give him/her a chance?'
Of course, the choices we make as buyers/sellers are up to us.
The problem with announcements of redemption is that there are always bad guys that are poised, waiting to take advantage of gentle souls. And sometimes, they are more than poised, they put themselves in the stream of commerce so that the gentle souls will be more likely to bump into them. (For instance there are pet stores which routinely neglect their critters, knowing that some gentle person will come in and 'rescue' the animals which were deliberately left in misery).

If that is true, please point out where sellers have initiated good guy threads about you as a buyer.
Even if you have not been a member recently, people can step up and write about their recent good experiences with you by referring to your name. The positive actions you have taken, the reparations you have made. Positive description of the 'new you' should come from sellers, past victims, etc., not from you.

Those posts would show you earning your way back, rather than a lot of talk which may well be you pulling the wool over everyone's eyes in an attempt to position yourself so you can accomplish further ripoffs of those on this site.

There is NO substitute for an actual, identifiable (with identifiable sellers or members, not sock puppets) good track record described by those who have done transactions with you.

There have been over four thousand views of this thread at this time. So far, no one has written a good guy post saying that Dustin has been a good buyer or seller.

I think it's fairly clear that not much is being accomplished in this BOI thread.

Dustin, if you are truly turning over a new leaf, like others have said before, actions speak far louder than words. Obviously, anyone reading the multiple threads about you will likely not purchase animals from you. Therefore, the only thing you can really do is work up at least a positive buying reputation, if you can find people to sell to you.

At this point, the only thing you can do to redeem yourself is to document absolute everything. Get a website, a blog, a Facebook page, a dedicated thread here, whatever. Every time you do business or decide to get into a project, you have to post the information way ahead of time. Create a timeline of transactions and post proof of those transactions.

With your reputation so badly tarnished, really the only thing you can do at this point is make amends to those you wronged. Some of those wrongdoings may have occurred a while ago, but there is proof of at least some of those wrongdoings here on the BOI.

I think you should start a thread asking for the people whom you have wronged to come forward and list what is owed. Once you get that list, make a PUBLICIZED plan to right those wrongs. Follow through with the plan (even if it takes a few years), and then we'll revisit this redemption thread to see if you're really interested in doing this the hard, but right way.

The fact that you were attempting to sell other animals under the alias you claimed was for finding the "person" who stole the monitors makes it highly unbelievable that you were acting in the manner you claim with respect to the monitors.

In addition, your claimed motive to try and find the person who stole the monitors is pretty senseless. Were you expecting the supposed thief to contact you and say, "hey I have a bunch of stolen lizards can I buy those?" A for sale ad for the monitors makes no sense in the context you are claiming. That claim in addition to the continual false identities makes it really unlikely that your really being honest here.
