• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

E-mail notifications....

I don't recall making any changes that would affect those notifications. But I will check when I have a moment. There is a checkbox in the actual moderator's permissions section for email notifications, but I have not changed that for anyone here who is still a moderator.

I still get mine, though sometimes there is quite a lapse in time between post and notification (at other times, it happens almost instantly).

Well, I checked and don't see anything wrong. Think it may be a problem at your ISP? Sometimes vBulletin messages are treated as bulk mail by some ISPs. Especially Yahoo. If your ISP went to something like Earthlink uses to block all emails unless I jump through some hoops to verify myself with them, you will never get those emails as I just don't do that when I get those bounce backs from people.

Murphy must be at it again...

Unless they (the ISP) just made a change over the past two days, prior to that I was receiving e-mail notifications using this same ISP (seeing as how I haven't changed providers). :shrug01:

Well they are both on the same server and should be sharing the same email engine, I guess. The only settings that SHOULD affect your getting those notices are two checkboxes within the moderator permissions screen. I even reset them and saved the record again just to see if that would help. If it doesn't work itself out, I guess maybe deleting your moderator record completely then creating a new one may help. :shrug01:
