    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was taken for $100. This supposed company had an argetine boa posted on kingsnake.com so, I emailed asking for pics. I recieved the pictures and contacted them by phone to let them know I wanted the animal. I sent the money order via priority mail and everything seemed well. On the day they were scheduled to ship the snake they emailed saying that they found the sanke dead in it's cage and that they were going to return my money. They never did and now they continue to give me the run around. Ed Mikolon says he plans to pay me back but can't due to problems.... I'm got a one month old son and I can't really afford they're problem either. I just want my money back from them. I notified the FBI's IFCC, BBB, and the USPS and kingsnake.com.

First of all I don't even know what your talking about with the silent treatment we have recieved no emails or anything since about a week and a half ago about four words send me my money. As for your money you will get it I know I wrote to you and said it'll be about 2 weeks well Iam sorry a few things have happened and I can't send it to you because we don't have it to send. personal reasons Iam not going to explain because you won't believe us and won't care anyways, but since this
email is going to be sent to so many people I might as well tell you. We will be getting some money from our construction guy and then can send it to you I just am not sure when it will be here Iam waiting on his call I have called him and will again tommrow. Hopefully we should get it with in the week because we have other bills and things to pay as well. I know you don't care and just want your money back and I want to send

The reason we haven't written back or called you is because we don't want to deal with nastness from you which we explianed before. Since you haven't been nasty we will email you if you have questions etc. You want your money back and you will get it (did you ever think that beinghalf way decent will get you farther).
Anyways you want to tell people what we are like well they should know what you are like as well.You want your money and we want a apology. I can understand your frustration I too would like whats rightfully mine but you have to see are point too would you want to deal with someone and almost everytime you do theres something nasty and threating you they have to say
to you. even before the snake was to be shipped.
I do apologize for not resending your money back and it was returned do to no address but I wasn't thinking just was pissed and threw it away. Anyways what I can tell you is that about 2 weeks you'll have your moneybecause of a personal problem.
Know I have a question for you when you do get your money back are you going to call BBB and the post office and tell them everythings straight and theother people whom you wanted to know about us.We have never done this before and you are acting like its a everydayoccurance. Well I have very bad news went to pack up the boa this morning and I
don't
know what the hell happened but she's dead. Her eyes are no longer in
her
head, mouth all open and there's some blood in the cage by her tail
also she
looks swollen by her middle to her tail.
We are very sorry for this had no clue she was fine yesterday.
I can send you pic's of her dead if you'd like if you don't believe us.

You should be glad that it happened to us and not you. You would be
even
more pissed if you got her dead.
We will send back your money to the same address.
Once again Iam very sorry for this. This has never happened before,

If I'm reading this correctly, their defense is NOT that they spent the money prior to shipping the snake, but that they actually returned the money with a missing delivery address (but DID have a return address on it), and then threw the money away when it was returned to them?

It's become a red flag to me when I hear about things being thrown away because someone was upset at the time. I've heard it about receipts, dead snakes (BEFORE pics were taken), envelopes, vet reports, etc. Those stories are typically used by people who make up an excuse, then realize they can't verify it. I'm not saying these people are not being honest, because I haven't heard their side and I don't know them at all, I'm just saying that I find it suspect.

On another note, Sixgun, you need to have your name in every post on the BOI or risk having it deleted.

It's not your money until the customer is satisfied with the animal you have sent to them! So, you should never be in a position of not having the money you owe to a refund situation, because it is not your money to spend!

I am really getting sick of these people who sell animals, but cannot afford to be selling animals. If you are in such a terrible financial situation that you have to spend money that is not yet yours to spend, then you shouldn't be spending money taking care of herps in the first place. If you are a business that is in that position, declare bankruptcy, get yourself a real job, and quit ripping people off!

Amen to that. It's very discouraging to get taken for any amount of money.
While I don't have money to waste, I do have money invested in several hobbies, guns, coins, reptiles etc. Instead of using my paycheck on herps, I part with something I want less than the animal I plan to aquire.

It'll all work out in the end.
 
What I don't understand is why people can't have more patience.
I have started a thread on the GDF related to this (not this case but the issue of not refunding money the absolute second it is demanded.) If you are interested please check it out. Please don't respond to my comment here. It belongs in the GDF

I'm going to disagree strongly Steve. I think Matt was patient. E & V told him that they would return his money in two weeks. Even that to me is ridiculous since Matt never got the animal. This is a business transaction, not a buddy that he was lending money to. Nevertheless, it sounds like Matt waited and it was only after that time was up and still no money that he started to take some action. To me that is quite patient.

Also, I have met and spoken with Matt several times over the past couple years, and he has always struck me as extremely polite and an all around nice guy. The idea of not returning his money because he was being nasty is not only illegal, but I am guessing that Matt was polite for quite sometime before the nastiness (if he even did get nasty).

Again, this is a business transaction, not a money lending business for personal reasons. This is not even a refund or satisfaction issue. Matt sent money and never got anything. The snake died in the hands of the seller (not buyer), the money needs to be sent back right away. It is pretty cut and dry.

Has anyone alerted E & V to this thread to see what they have to say? Hopefully this helps to get the money returned swiftly.
I am sorry if these people have run into personal problems, but really that is not Matt's problem. Business is business. At this point, it is theft.

As a matter of fact they recieved the money order April 17th. I waited two weeks from the date they were to ship, which was the 21st, to even start with anything further. For the Record:

Then they delayed shipping for another day because of "car problems" Putting the date at the 22nd. On that day they emailed me saying the snake was dead in her cage and that they would refund my money. A month and a half isn't quite the second I demanded it.

In your original post you mention that you sent a money order. Did you save the receipt? Shouldn't you be able to use that receipt to pursue a trace on it, just to see if you can get any info as to whether or not is was cashed?

update

I did check up on the western union mo I sent them. It was cashed 4-25, I still have all the receipts for that.
The only thing they have said is they can't pay me because they don't have it to give.( and that was burried in a pile of barely literate excuses) I'm going to give it up to the proper authorities and let them handle it. I've hade that ball rolling for about a month or so now. I don't know what more I can do.
