    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Peter, one thing I don't do is take what people say over the internet to personally.
You acted like a jerk and got called on it and as has been pointed out if you'd have kept those fingers away from your keyboard and not kept posting here this would be a few pages and poof off to the BOI boneyard this thread would have gone.

You got hit here then went over to another forum to brag about your BOI thread and found most (not all )there didn't think much of your comments either. You got mad and decided you were going to take on the Chondro market with 25 dollar chondro's. Forgetting that we know you only have baby chondro's you decided to rip everyone anyway you could.. And here we are in a thread started over something small and you trying your darnedest to keep yourself the center of attention.

Well till something better comes along here you'll get the attention but I bet down the road you wonder what the heck was i thinking when I did that. Randy

Not really.

I am glad about what I have done concerning Chondros. Truth be told - I had mentioned to a few of my friends that I was going to sell my chondros very cheaply when I eventually did breed them. I told quite a few people that I was sick of some things I have seen.

Quite a few people that deal in Chondro's have emailed me and told me that they totally understand what I am doing - and they are sick of it as well. I will never betray their trust by posting names here or anywhere else.

The die is cast and the promise has been made. I don't care about the money and will enjoy every last bit of producing these snakes.

One other thing - I do have 2 pairs of Green Tree Pythons that are practically large enough to breed already. As a matter of fact - I have witnessed at least 20 copulations between the two snakes in one of the pairs in the past few months.
Probably I will not get eggs this year - but it's a coming.

If not this year then maybe next. Either way I am not gonna stop until I see this through.

Randy, one other thing - reading your post #261 to the thread you make it sound like I am trying to deceive people concerning the time table of when I will be able to deliver the baby chondro's.

Please, my ad CLEARLY stated that almost my entire collection was made up of young snakes and this would possibly take a few years. It also says this on the front page of my website - and did from the beginning.

Please - let's keep the facts straight, ok?

I am under no illusions (and never have been) that I will even be able to make a dent in the market. Look at the math: I have 25 GTP's. 3 are sexed as females and 2 are known males. That leaves 20 that are unsexed. Let's assume that only 8 of those are females. I probably have about 11 females total. Now --- let's assume that 7 of those will produce in two or three years. Heck, let's assume that only 6 produce. That is only about 75 eggs (and that is optimistic). Now I am going to get some more GTP's probably and will add to my colony but really - It's not like I am going to cause a crash in the market.

Please, my $25 Green Tree Pythons are going to have no effect on anything except a bunch of people are going to get a really great deal on some really nice snakes.

Peter wasn't misrepresenting anything from what I had seen you post in the past I thought you just had a bunch of babies. So it would be yers before you had any babies to sell... I never saw your KS add was gone before I knew about it... Randy

How can it be construed as mistreatment of a buyer... nothing was ever purchased. ??

If the guy wanted a steep discount on the price of an animal then why would he choose to hassle someone who didn't have "or best offer" listed in their ad...why not respond to an ad that did encourage people to dicker on the price instead?

List prices are always negotiable. If you have ever bought a new car or a piece of real estate you know that. The flip side of your argument is why didn't the seller state clearly in his ad that the price is firm? I have a theory, but it's only a theory.

In my book, and I believe I speak for the majority of the posters on this thread, a potential customer is still a customer. If you only treat the people who have already paid you with civility you will not be around long. The other portion of your theory has already been addressed by Jim O.

HOLY COW. Now I know you are are really just baiting.

Let me finally lay out my entire Sunday so you guys can see how this ALL started. Kinda funny really.

As it says on my website - my wife and I are expecting child #3 (which we found out is a third boy last Friday!).

I spent all day Saturday, Saturday night, and all Sunday morning painting one of the bedrooms in my basement and the bathroom in my basement so my oldest son can have a new bedroom when the new one comes along in June.

After painting for several hours on Sunday I went to church with my wife. Jim_O --- I am in the "tribe" as you and the other bare-bottomed guy are: I am a Jew for those that do not know what that means. SO --- I go to church with my wife but I work in the nursery with the "mustard seedlings". Yeah, I spend a few hours every Sunday tieing shoes and wiping tooshies as a helper in the nursery at my wife's church.

I got home and fell asleep, exhausted. I flipped open my laptop and saw the OP's email. I was tired and a little annoyed so BOOM - he got both barrells. A couple of hours later someone emailed me and told me he put it on the BOI. That really made me even madder... so when he emailed me again. Ka-BOOM! I had reloaded and blasted him again. That is why you see my reference to the BOI in my email that he posted. He had to re-post because his 1st post was not correctly done. The 1st, original post is gone.

So, Jim_O --- there, you get the whole story. This little drama has been fun and it has opened my eyes - WIDE OPEN to this whole hobby and a lot of people in it. I reject it.

I am going back to just having fun with it and will be spending my time making good on my promise to about 50 people for some baby Green Tree Pythons. It is a monumental task - but hey - it's gonna be fun - and a lot of people have offered their support and help.

This has been a real eye-opener, as I said before; I even saw on another forum that someone was asking if it was true that I had threatened people at the MARS show.

No more "profit motive" for me.

Despite all the many opinions here about what Pete could do, should do, did do, etc., one fundamental principal always prevails. As a business person, I do not want to do get comfortable in a behavior that my has my competition hoping I do not change, if not applauding my continued repetition of it. :shrug01:

Ron - you were always on my list for free "whatever I bred" anyway and you knew it.

Keep the Emeralds on the "QT" though. I am further off with that project.

I too have dealt with Peter as well as field herped with him and currently have 4 snakes in my collection that I got from him. They are great quality and he has always been great to deal with. I believe his prices are very fair considering the quality of his stock!! Most if not all of his animals are locale specific as well as high quality which is harder to come by than the "run of the mill" snakes of the same species. I would have no problem at all with paying his prices for any of his snakes. He does not want to haggle over the price and that is his right. I personally know that he puts a lot of time and effort into his snakes and is one of the good guys in this hobby.

I don't believe anyone doubts this. If he had just given the explanation that he gave a couple of posts ago this thread would have been 5-10 posts long.
 
Good luck breeding , hatching and getting those gtps to EAT! Im sure your people will be waiting for a very long time..I will definitely not buy anything from EAST COAST COLUBRIDS... not even a corn... lol no haggle price , sounds like CARMAX to me!
