• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info East Coast Dragons poor Communication

nope he never gave us a number i understand that some people think that this is a bogus thread but they have to understand that we havent heard from scott in 5 days all he had to do was tell us that he was busy (doing shows work) what have you and we would have been totaly fine but to be left in the dark not knowing whats going to happen is what bothered me scott is a good guy very nice dragons thats why i put this thread in INFO not BAD GUY...

It is very frustrating waiting on emails. Just a suggestion for next time, get the sellers phone number so incase something does happen (you never know when your computer will just crap on you) you can stay in contact.

To East Coast Dragons. Next time if there is any indication of a problem call them and go ahead work everything out asap or just for reassurance give a call back to make sure everything is going fine. A little bit more communication is always great and sometimes even leads to more sales.

How Much more "worked out" does it need to be?

I had a costumer send me back a dragon that they said it`s a male clear as day. I took the dragon back and kept it .Need less to say she laid 5 clutches of 30 eggs.I will take back the dragon if you like. Or you can hold on to it for a little bit and see. If it turns out she is a he i will send you a female and you can keep that dragon.I have females that have bumps but ether no spurs or very Little. Some times flipping the tail is not all ways right.Let me know what you would like to do.
Thanks
Scott

This whole issue boils down to an undetermined delay in answering an Email after two very fair resolutions were immediately offered by the seller.

This horse has been sufficiently beaten

Okay, I'm old and stoopid I guess ... I'm still confused since the email headers & dates are not included.

You said previously:
The response to his first offer was delayed only till the next day which was Wednesday, the day after we had received the dragon.

So ... his first offer (send it back for a refund or keep for a while to be sure it's male?) was on Wednesday the 8th, the day after you received the dragon which was on Tuesday the 7th. Correct?

Then, in response to my previous post asking when he sent the email I quoted (in my previous post), you said:

that email was sent the same day that we told him it was a male laura that was sent on JULY 6.

July 6 was Monday. You didn't have the dragon until Tuesday the 7th, correct?
So, in essence, if I have it figured out you got the dragon on Tuesday the 7th, emailed Scott about the mistaken gender on the 7th and he emailed you his first offer on Wednesday the 8th.

Then your wife emailed him back on the 9th about how long should you wait (or something to that effect - you have not posted that email, I don't believe) and then YOU emailed him on the 11th with your dissatisfaction and then he emailed you back on the 13th. Do I have the timetable pretty much correct?

okay we got the dragon on the 7th his last email to us was the 7th we emailed him on the 8th asking how long is a little bit and after that we didnt hear from him till the 13.

im sorry for all the confusion but it seemed like he originally didnt want us to send it back to him so thats why we ask how long is a little bit cause we were male heavy and didnt have the room for him .

That's what I'm seeing, so I must be "stoopid" as well.

Russ - You and your wife were both e-mailing Scott about the same dragon, and there was no more than a 48 hour wait for a response to either of you. If you and your wife were not aware that Scott had been in e-mail contact with both of you throughout the past week, I think there are some other "communication issues" that need to be dealt with. If that's not the case, you just started a bogus thread and are splitting hairs to make the guy look bad.

Scott - If/when I switch from snakes to dragons, I'll be happy to buy from you.

i knew of all the emails that was sent to him and the ones he sent back but his emails stop on the 7th the day we got the dragon and he knew we werent happy we emailed him on the 8th asking how long is a little bit 2 days later i emailed him threw my email that was on the 11th 3 days after his last email he didnt write my wife he wrote to me on the 13 almost a week after we got the dragon. Thats when he told us to ship it back on our dime .... AND LIKE I SAID BEFOR IM NOT TRYING TO MAKE SCOTT OR EAST COAST DRAGONS OUT TO LOOK LIKE BAD GUYS. if i wasnt so male heavy i wouldnt have cared about the sex it was a great looking dragon but we wanted A FEMALE

Russ

You were offerred two choices

Send it back for a full refund

Wait a bit to make sure it is a male.

Apparently this entire issue comes down to a 48 hour delay in answering one Email in a string of several after those two solutions were already freely offered?

Dial down the caffeine. You massively over reacted and owe the seller an apology. Things happen...people have busy patches...I am sure you were a priority to the seller, just not his very tip top priority.

if you had Emailed him about the problem and gotten no response at all for a few days it would be a different matter. In this case you are way out of line.

I'll jump on this bandwagon as well.

He offered the waiting period OR taking the dragon back the day after you got it and brought the issue to his attention (although originally you said it was July 7th, the same day). As has been said a million times in the BOI, it isn't a matter of IF the seller makes a mistake (an easily caught mis-sexing, apparently), it is a matter of how they deal with it. I think it was dealt with promptly and professionally, and that is based on just the evidence you provided.

I also have to say I find it pretty disingenuous to keep protesting you didn't over-react because this is not a 'bad guy' thread. You may not have used that tag, but you criticize them (unfairly, I think) in the title, and that is what is going to stand out to potential customers.

Dang, I just looked back to make sure I was right that in post #5 you said he made the offer on July 7th, and he actually offered to let you keep this dragon and ALSO send a replacement if it turned out to be male.

What a monster he is .

okay like i said after he said the last email to us we didnt hear from him till monday how are we going to ship a dragon back to him when he never emailed us back we emailed him back Wednesday if he said ship him back we would have but like i said after he said eather hold onto it or ship it back that was the last that he emailed us till monday i shouldnt have waited that long to get an email back saying ship it back if he would have sent an email saying ship it thurs i would have i didnt want a male I WANTED A FEMALE

but i guess waiting 5 days for an email is okay while holding a dragon that i didnt want and didnt have the room for makes me a bad guy

Honestly, this was only about crappy communication about a mis-sexed 5 mo. old bearded dragon. Granted Russ should've waited longer for a reply, but what's an acceptable wait-time? This is a dead issue and again, a lost cause. Typical BOI post, where some will understand ones situation and others will turn it around and twist words because there's oh so much more than meets the eye. Nobody was implying anyone as a BAD GUY or "stoopid" or a giant bag-o-douche. Just Russ putting his concern out there. People have posted a Bad Guy thread not giving any time at all... He atleast waited.

Russ, with due respect, these are your words:
I wanted a girl... But he's a definite boy and it's as clear as day.

make this right since we paid for a girl and we got a boy.

but we needed a female

but we wanted A FEMALE

i didnt want a male I WANTED A FEMALE

and wasn't prepared for another male

holding a dragon that i didnt want and didnt have the room for

Scott emails you (or your wife ... whoever) on the 8th and says:
I will take back the dragon if you like. Or you can hold on to it for a little bit and see. If it turns out she is a he i will send you a female and you can keep that dragon

Then you (or your wife ... whoever):
emailed him on the 8th asking how long is a little bit

Sorry, but it sounds more like you wanted to keep the MALE dragon and then get a replacement female later, but you wanted clarification on just how long to play the "wait and see" game. Seems to me anyone who was so adamant about the incorrectly sexed dragon & wasn't prepared for another male would have merely sent it back immediately and gotten a refund or a proper replacement seeing as how the offer was on the table the next day.

What does this mean, exactly? Do you no longer have the male dragon?
and dont worry about the dragon we ended up taking care of
things on our own since you couldnt or wouldnt get back to us

oh lord there were no hidden agendas to a question as simple as that
2nd guessing ourselves that maybe scott is right thats why she asked. and gringo is doing A-O.K!
thanks for asking!

Okay ... sorry about asking. You said "we ended up taking care of things on our own...", not me! I just wondered what that meant. Glad Gringo is happy and healthy.

and fyi laura he didnt write us on the 8th the last email that we got from him was the 7th the day we got the dragon and told him that it was a male not a female my wife emailed him back on the 8th asking how long is a little bit he didnt write back till the 13th

and fyi laura he didnt write us on the 8th the last email that we got from him was the 7th the day we got the dragon

Gotcha. I stand corrected. He mailed you on the 7th offering to take the dragon back, not the 8th. Sorry.
